Undergravel Filter
Rebuilding our 56Gal (18x36) tank after it being out of use for about 6 months. Got really tired of having to drain and clean the tank every 3-4 months. Like having the fish, but not having to claen the tank so often. Some of the stuff I read suggested an undergravel filter and pump so we mated this up with a Marineland PH0550 powerhead and all appears to be working just fine. Was able to cover almost the entire tank bottom by creatively arranging the piece and knocking out the requisite tabs. Lost one star due to A. not providing enough "rubber bands" to full secure the pieces together, and B. using very thin vertical piping.

Assembly is unfortunately cumbersome
Despite the unit being meant for a wider tank, the plenums do not interconnect, so you'd have to cut and zip them to create one big plenum. The fittings and airstones are of subpar quality. The vents are a tad big as substrate makes its way through there.

adapted to my fishes and personal needs.
Had to fashion own PVC water intake system to connect to the external canister filtration system to work as I wanted it to. Opposed to just drawing the debris to under the gravel.

The dimensions are NOT as advertised. I have a 12" x 48" 55 Gallon Tank. This kit came with 3 plates - each measuring 14" x 11.375". Well - 14 X 3 equals 42". Yes, I understand the plates don't have to go to the exact edge of the tank. BUT being 6" too short means I can't "hide" the thick vertical tubes in the corners. Too bad the manufacturer doesn't make plates more specific to my size tank. I will be returning these and getting another brand closer to my dimensions needed.

This product arrived on time. It was exactly as advertised. It was a perfect fit for my 40 gal aquarium. It was easy to install. It works perfectly.

You will not find a picture of this item fully assembled anywhere on the internet
The media could not be loaded. I wanted to try an under gravel filter for my lowest 55 gallon and chose this brand Lees. Unfortunately the box doesn’t have clear instructions on how to set up the item and the internet doesn’t have any pictures or video of the assembled item anywhere. I’d like to know where to put the “uptake tubes” and also how the airline tubing connects I would assume this item gets returned a lot due to its lack of instructions and no internet pictures or video available
