Plastic frame is pressed down into the wire mesh. Yay!

I ordered this strainer to replace one I've had a long time that the handle broke. It, too, had the edge of the plastic frame pressed into the wire mesh. I had looked for one like this for a while so was excited to find this. I don't consider this a "quality control problem" as stated by another reviewer, but rather a genius design. What this does is prevent any food from getting pushed up into what would otherwise be a space between the frame and the mesh and putrefying. It's the only kind I like to use and I may be ordering more sizes.

Small simple strainer

I needed something small for straining kefir grains and this was very cheap and works great. The mesh is fine and it doesn't hold much at a time so I need to use a bowl scraper or similar to work the kefir through the mesh while I pour in more. It only holds about a quarter cup at a time. I only make a small amount of kefir daily so this works great to fill a small cup. If I were making more, I'd want a larger strainer so I could pour more through at once. It sits on a cup very nicely on its own. It would work with straining tea and similar also.

Decent little sifter.

Depending on what you use it for, it might be hard to clean but I think that goes for any strainer type thing. It works, I like the little nubs that keep it on the bowl so you don’t have to hold it. The mesh was a bit too small for what I wanted it for so just check the specs and consider what you’ll be doing with the product before purchasing. Overall it seems like a fair quality for price

This strainer works well. It is a bit larger mesh than I had thought I was going to get.

This strainer works well. It is a bit larger mesh than I had thought I was going to get. I use it for straining coffee grounds, and a bit of smaller stuff can get through. I should have looked a bit more closely at what I was buying. The shape makes it very easy to clean, love that. The plastic handle seems a bit flexible to me. Just not as sturdy as I would like. Perhaps it will hold up in time anyways.

How to ship this product?

They need to use a box instead of a bag to ship this product so it is not damaged during the shipment process. I bought this because the net is not flexible however it was bent during the shipment.

Not ideal for sifting matcha.

UPDATE: Feb. 2022, After several uses I would NOT continue to use this for my matcha sifting. The mesh is too fine and it takes longer for the powder to sift through. Nothing wrong with the product. Will use it for other things, but just not ideal for this purpose. NOTE: These descriptions may NOT correspond to the order of photos. #1. This sifter next to 3” sifter. #2. This sifter sitting a top 3” sifter, inside 10oz drinking mug. #3. This sifter atop drinking mug #4. This sifter atop chawan #5., Residue remaining after sifting. #6. Depth of this sifter bowl. I wanted a sifter I could travel with specifically to sift Matcha tea powder. The size is perfect, 2.5 inches, not too big and not too small. Will fit in travel bag, backpack, suitcase with no problem. Fits nicely over drinking cup or Matcha bowl (chawan). I like the bowl design as it drops more into the container. The handle and the hooks make it pretty stable. It stays secure as I use the ladle (chashaku) to push the Matcha through the sifter. The mesh screen is very fine. So fine that it took some time to get a teaspoon’s worth of powder through the screen. It did leave some powder in the screen when I finished. Matcha powder can be very expensive so you don’t want to waste any. I rinsed my strainer with the hot water in my cup to get as much of the residue out as possible. This is a tad bit disappointing as my 3 inch strainer gets all the powder through with none left over. It’s not problematic, just requires more attention to make sure you get all the powder you paid for.
