Good filter for coffee maker
I've been using these filters for a few years and I'm very pleased. Removes chemicals leaving just a clean water taste, which improves the overall taste of the coffee. I do change them every 6 weeks as recommended.

They Work Great, But Do You Need Them?
I ordered these a while back and I will be the first to say they work great. The insides of my machine are nice and clean, and, more importantly, the coffee keeps coming out great. For Capresso Filters, this isn't a bad price either. If you are going to use an in-machine filter, this is a solid choice. Hence the four stars. However, I have realized that this is an unnecessary and avoidable expense for me, and possibly you as well. I don't drink my tap water due to the taste, so when I bought my refrigerator I decided that an in-door water dispenser with a filter was a must. My wife and I don't have children, so that filter lasts for ages. Why should I buy these filters when I have a perfectly good one in the fridge that doesn't stop meeting our needs before its' age mandates a change? So I now skip on this expense, and instead use the filtered water I already have access to. Several other reviewers mention that they use filtered water from other sources (bottles or those huge plastic jugs). That is also a great idea, but if you have a fridge with a filter or a Brita pitcher, there is no need to waste the cash.

Clean Water = Excellent Coffee
Beginning with the Coffee Team Plus, Capresso introduced the concept of a water filter in the water tank of their automatic coffee makers. If you use tap water, the filter is a wonderful idea. It removes impurities and chlorine before the water is heated. Clean water and a clean coffee maker = great coffee. The manufacturer's recommendation is to change filters every 6 weeks or 60 pots of coffee. I usually change them every two months, or so. I imagine the effectiveness of the filter may depend on the quality of the water you use. I haven't had a problem yet. Usage tip: Each filter is individually wrapped in plastic to keep it fresh until opened. When you open a filter, first soak it in cold water for about 15 minutes. Then rinse it under running water for another minute or two until the water dripping from the filter is clear. If you still see black particles dripping from the filter, run a pot of water through the coffee maker, with the new filter inserted, without coffee beans and discard the water afterward, or use the water for plants (when it is cooled, of course.)

Capresso filters
A few years ago I took the plunge and bought a quality coffee maker. We love our Capresso with the stainless steel thermal caraf. The bonus filtration you get with these charcoal filters is nice. I installed a whole house, commercial type water filtration (not a softener) system over (30) years ago to get rid of some of the hard water, the clorine and minerals we have in our South Western PA public water system. It uses a multi-phase filter system that includes charcoal too. But the added filter inside the Capresso machine takes it one step further and we end up with great tasting coffee every time.

Filter McNuggets
These are very simple. They are activated charcoal inside a filter shaped like a little plug. Water has to travel through it before it is heated and showered over the coffee grounds. The activated charcoal reduces the chlorine taste of the water, which can give coffee an off taste, depending on how strong it is. The filter keeps the charcoal contained, but also keeps any stray coffee grounds that may have made it into the water chamber from landing on the heating element. Activated charcoal does have a shelf life, and will absorb odors from the air if you don't keep it tightly wrapped, so don't buy too many of these in advance or they won't stay fresh.

Good Product
I normally purchase these filters from one of a local kitchen or appliance store; however, they were all out and the stores could not give me an ETA. Therefore, I purchased them on Amazon because I needed them. The price wasn't any bargain compared to store bought but with Amazon's free shipping; it did save me some gas money. As for the product itself I have been using it for years and it is made for my coffee maker and I have no complaints. I mean there isn't a whole lot you can say about these filters unless you notice that they don't work.

They work fine.
Capresso's charcoal filters seem to work. Coffee tastes better, I think. Very easy to remove and install, though I'm a little worried about the lifespan of the plastic hinge on the filter holder. Watch it -- there are a couple of different varieties. This is a round one. There's also an oval-ish one that's mis-labeled in Amazon as "Capresso 121.01 Ultima Semi-Automatic Coffee and Espresso/Cappuccino Machine"[..] The link is for the filters, not the machine, and so it might not come up correctly when you search for filters.

These work well..... really makes ...
These work well.....really makes a difference with your coffee maker on taste. I personally clean my out about every 6 months with vinegar and water. You take the filter out for that. Run water through a few times and then put a new filter in. You'll definitely notice the difference. Smoother, not bitter coffee.

It works
I tried the generic one that was much cheaper but it definitely didn’t work, as the filter kept bobbing out of place whenever I poured water into the machine. Spend the money on the real thing, folks. This one works as advertised.
