Great Product!
I have been a kindergarten teacher for over 28 years and I love teaching art. I can always count on Faber-Castell to make a quality product. These are easy to use without all the mess of regular watercolors. Perfect for young and old alike. They would be great to take on a trip. The kids could color with them and when they get home they could use a paint brush to see the magic happen.

Lots of fun!!!
If you are considering working with watercolor crayons, these are a great place to start. The colors are vibrant and the end product is lovely! I would buy these again and I have. This is the second time I purchased them.

Visual Stories Come to Life
These are my favorite art supplies! I have been using these watercolor crayons (plus F-C's watercolor pencils) in my visual storytelling workshops for over a decade now. Workshop participants - from preschoolers to elders - are always wowed by how vibrant the colors are, how even a rookie painter can create powerful imagery. I instruct workshop participants to dip the tip of each watercolor crayon into a bowl of water (the longer you hold it there, the more the crayon softens, the less likely colors will streak) before drawing with it. Or, color with it like a crayon and then smudge your drawing with a moistened Viva paper towel. (Only this brand of paper towel hasn't torn the 140 lb watercolor paper I use.) The watercolor pencils are reserved for optional detail work. Above are three examples of "visual stories" painted with watercolor crayons and watercolor pencils by refugee children. P.S. I've read complaints about the packaging deteriorating quickly. If you (an adult) slip the plastic tray with crayons in and out of the cardboard container carefully, I haven't had any problems. I've used the same sets for a year or two and the packaging is still intact. I'd much rather be careful than pay more for more durable packaging!

GREAT DEEP COLOR, AND TURNS INTO WATERCOLOR GREAT- BOX IS USELESS AND U WILL NEED 2 BUY A CONTAINER 4 THEM.
I bought this along with 3 other watercolor pencil sets (Color Artsy, Leruna, and Corot...which seller called a different brand name for some odd reason), This set by Faber Caster that was safe for children 0-3 they said, and had the absolute best color production in depth and in change to a water color with water. but were not as easily manipulated. The packaging really was VERY poor. A flimsy cardboard and the crayons sitting in a VERY VERY flimsy piece of plastic and not secured in it, so that when I got it all the crayons where out, and had marked up the container they were to be seated in, so that the set looked already used! Though I am not saying it was, just that packaging resulted in loose crayons which are soft enough to leave residue behind where they touch, and they apparently bounced around. (HEY FABER CASTELL...just a simple small strip of cellophane over the crayons to keep them seated in the container would have worked. I really LIKED the crayons...but the carton they came in was so bad that it knocked my review down, as now I have to go back and find something to put them in! I am going to have to buy a separate container now, because once these crayons are out of the box, it would be risking have them get all broken up to put them back in, PLUS they were advertised for "children", and a child would have a hard time getting them back in this trashy box. The watercolor pencils all did about the same with Corot having a little better change to water color and a little deeper color. the Leruna had the least deep color and was not for children 0-3, and neither was the Corot and

3 of 15 Crayons Arrived Broken :(
I bought these for my 3 yr old. I'm pretty 50-50 on them. Pros: - Rich, thick, pigmented color - Nice assortment of colors - Easy to use a paintbrush to add water and liquify the colors, which is lots of fun Cons: - 3 of the 15 crayons were broken right down the middle of the crayon. Package was perfect upon arrival, so I can only imagine that they're so delicate that normal handling and jostling resulted in the breaks. - With a 3 yr old, the break in the crayon makes it nearly unusable since the paper unwraps and falls off, and the remaining crayon bit "melts" in her hand - Agree with other reviewers, the package is basically worthless. Cheap, flimsy plastic tray in a lightweight cardboard box. I considered a brand that came in a tin, and I wish I had gotten that one instead for $4 extra. - Comes with a brush, but it sheds horribly. Also my 3 yr old tends to "smash" her brush into the paper in order to get the water to mix with the crayon so I'll probably replace this one with a synthetic bristle brush. We'll enjoy these, but probably won't re-purchase.

Great crayons crappy brush
The crayons work great, I agree the packaging is flimsy, the plastic they are in ripped when I pulled them out of the box. And I wasn’t pulling harshly or anything. The brush is also useless, It sheds terribly. A small amount of shedding is normal with a new brush but this probably lost 1/4 of its bristles with light use today. I expected more from this brand in that front. But I like the crayons great color and blends really well and they are inexpensive so I can’t complain to much. I’d just advise anyone buying don’t expect much from the brush or packaging. Have a zip loc, jar or similar ready for storage.

Fun art supply!
While this is marketed for children, older people can use with decent, fun results. They are nicely pigmented, especially when compared to artist's loft water soluble wax pastels. The included brush I found to be way too soft once wet, so I used a different brush which made the experience better. The package left room for improvement, it's not sturdy, which is disappointing considering the brand. None of the crayons were broken, but having purchased Faber castell products in the past I expected more presentation wise. The crayons activate nicely with water, but I found dark grey not so easily moved. Overall I like the product and would recommend.
