You need extension, flex-head and the ability to set the angle of the head -- believe me.
Normally this ratchet is stored 'compressed' -- but it's used 'extended' -- for the leverage. Well manufactured, robust,... This style is what the pros are using.

Not low profile
I bought this E-Z Red 3/8" flex head extendable ratchet because the box stated low profile as one of the features. When I received the ratchet, it was immediately obvious that the ratchet did not have a low profile head. It is no different than the Ampro 3/8" flex head extendable ratchet. It seems like all the 3/8" extendable ratchets out there have the same look and design; just different brand names. It's almost like they are all made from the same factory somewhere. Regarding the general look and feel of this E-Z Red ratchet, it looks well made and definitely strong. However, the need for a flex head arises when you need to get into a tight or awkward spot. Since the head on this ratchet is not low profile (just a regular sized head like all the others in this class) I'd say for a flex head, the ratchet looks pretty big. I decided to just buy a longer handle flex head ratchet instead of an extendable model.

The perfect ratchet
This instantly became my favorite ratchet. It is awesome. If you need more leverage to loosen a stubborn bolt, you can quickly and easily extend the ratchet a few inches. The shorter length works in most tighter spots in the engine compartment, and if you need to adjust the angle of the ratchet, the tool holds the angle where you set it, unless or until you press a button to change it. Hats off to the engineer who designed this tool.

On recommendations from Youtuber Ratchets And Wrenches, I got this for my son who is becoming a gearhead. He really likes it. The nice thing about this one is the head locks in place where you set it. Many others of this style can move if you bump them when you're trying to get fitted over a nut where this one stay put.

With the locking pivot it's the best ratchet I own
Sturdy, comfortable and extremely useful. I have other expensive ratchets that I don't use anymore because this thing is 80%+ of what I need. Returns without much resistance so you rarely have to hold a loose bolt. This can be rare in a high tooth count socket. The new locking pivot makes this a no-brainer. The multi-point extension, pivot and high tooth count mean you can access the toughest bolts in the tightest places. Can't say enough about this thing.

It's a good sturdy rachet and with the extension feature it gives more reach and torque
I used the ratchet to replace brakes,outer tierods,lower ball joints, wheel bearings and rotors on my old Buick. It was sturdy and I liked the extension feature for more torque. The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't have the quick release socket feature.

Versatile
Typical 72 tooth Taiwan head not the smallest gw, tekton powerbuilt and others smaller. But , it is for multitask use ie truck car or travel tools use. The lock flex and extention is good enough. Doin long time and found that agood work around ratchet is invaluable. Keep one around; this should be your first type of ratchet in 3/8 configuration bought. Add others as required over time and have many but this will do 75% of what you need done without carrying a tool chest around. Quality of these types ok, versatility priceless when you need access.

Was looing for a ratchet to replace a Mastercraft one flex head and extensible and I found this one. don't use it already but looks like a great tool to have.
