E-Z Lok stands by their excellent product

I ordered the M14-1.5 (1.5D/21mm length) economy kit, but similar to another reviewer, received a kit which contained a different size set. Mine was labeled as ordered, but contained the parts for a 1/2-20 (1D/14mm) kit, which I determined by both tap imprint and comparison both to the bolt to be installed and a thread pitch image from the Bolt Depot fastener tools PDF (make sure to print at 100% scale). Note that you have to stretch the coils to match the pitch image if you want to measure: they do not arrive expanded to length at rated pitch. In the attached image, the left kit is the first received, the right kit is the replacement. Clearly different contents. Since I needed this item for a repair this week and it was out of stock at Amazon, I reached out to E-Z Lok directly to see if they could help. They responded within a few hours and shipped me a replacement kit with the correct items the same day via Next Day Air. They even included a Certificate of Conformance (asserting that the shipped item matched the ordered item). I'm delighted that E-Z Lok stood by their product, and my oil pan is now back in business with a solid thread repair after the drain bolt hole had been stripped during previous ownership: an aftermarket Dorman toggle bolt plug had been there when I bought this vehicle used, and it was starting to leak). This is my second bolt hole repair with E-Z Coil. It's a well-designed product, and with this kind of customer service, I'm a customer for life.

Confident my repair will last

Wasted 2 before getting it right. Don't lose the end before you can see there's no gap in the tread from you not applying constant pressure while screwing them in so you can pull them out pulling hard on that last bit. Once you get the hang of it you'll do a great job. I don't think the much more expensive alternative will do a better job as this looks solid once inserted properly

Check the coil after installation, before screwing the bolt it!

I almost made it worst with this kit... Still giving it 5-stars, cuz it was my mistake. I never used one of these before, so after watching number of videos on YouTube, I thought I knew exactly how to do it! What could go wrong you wonder..? Well, when screwing the coil, one of the loops jumped one over for some stupid reason..!! So when I started tightening that bolt, oh man... It was a hell of job, taking that whole thing out... I rethreaded it again and next time I really checked the loops and guess what, same thing happened! After another 2 tries, I was able to get all the threads seating correctly and could complete the job nice and tight! My biggest advice to all! Check the coil after you insert it, before screwing the bolt in!!! Other then that, awesome way to fix stripped threading! Would recommend!

Worked really well to repair my car exhaust manifold flange thread.

Couple things to know. The right drill bit makes all the difference. Not just the right size (duh) but if drilling in metal, don't spend forever using the wrong bit. Get a bit that is for metal. Other item is get thread lock.

It just does work perfectly indeed - If you follow the simple 3 steps (1 - drilling, 2 - threading ,3 - placing the insert) using the tools provided in this same kit, it will do what it says it will do. I have a track bike and as such there is constantly maintenance and the need of removal certain parts (seat, farigins etc) in a often basis to perform such maintenance. As the chassis is made of aluminum, at the some point is almost expected that the threads for the bolts holding these parts will give away... I already performed 3 repairs on the frame of my bike using this kit and it worked perfectly all three times! I'm about to buy the M10 1.25 of this same kit as well for another area I expect will need repair soon.

Parece ser de buena calidad pero no lo he podido instalar

No incluye la broca necesaria, y no pude encontrar que tamaño se necesita antes de comprar. Ya que lo recibí, en la parte de atrás dice que se necesita una broca de 10.3mm que es una medida muy dificil de conseguir, al menos en opciones económicas.
