Works great
Got right down into the vent and pulled up major lint. TheZVac Flexible Crevice Tool for all Vacuum Hoses type of attachments have mixed reviews. The idea of sucking up lint from under the screen area is appealing, but in practice, it's hard to tell if it will work or not on YOUR particular vacuum. Moreover, you can simply pull this brush out of the cupboard and do a quick swipe and get out surprising amounts of trapped lint. Lint is a fire hazard. It's like tinder, in fact, if you are a camper or hiker, a handful of dryer lint in your pocket and one of thoseSE FS374 All-Weather Emergency 2-IN-1 Fire Starters can start a survival campfire. But in the house, it's dangerous. Even with the brush, it's helpful to have someone clean out dryer vents once in a while. Lint blows down the conduit and can become trapped. In 1999 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that out of 15,000 fires in a single year, electric dryers were over 2.5 times more likely to be the cause of the fire than gas dryers. Fires originated most frequently from two places: dryer venting and the lint trap. Even though I can have a gas dryer, as we have natural gas lines, the house was not plumbed in the laundry room for gas. So it's an electric dryer. That's what most people have. There are brush kits to extend into the duct, or you can hire professional cleaners. After you clean out your duct, keep it up to par with the brush.

HUGE but it works!
My dryer has a flat lint screen that pulls up so that the lint can be removed. I recently noticed some lint being pushed deeper into the opening, beyond the screen so that it was stuck down in the abyss. I bought this brush, expecting it to be a little brush. My lint screen opening is only about 1/2" wide. When this brush was delivered, I was shocked at how humungous it is. Super long and super wide. I thought, No way are these bristles going to fit! But I jammed the sucker down into the black lint hole and pulled up, and sonofagun, it worked. Did it again and again and pulled out a good bit of lint. Keep in mind I have nothing to compare to since this is the only lint brush I've ever used. I will say that the large diameter of the bristles meant I had to struggle a little to jam it down and pull it up. But maybe it's supposed to be like that in order to be effective? The length was also overkill, for me. It could've been a few inches shorter to make it easier to work with. Also, the rod (or whatever you call it) is completely bendable. So I was jamming up and down and side to side, the rod bent at several places. Again, maybe the bend makes it more effective, but it did make it a bit more awkward for me. When I saw all that lint stuck to the bristles after I was done, I thought, This is going to be a BEE to clean. Pulling out all that trapped lint, UGH! But I just used my little VonHaus handheld vacuum with the hose attachment and it just easily sucked all that lint completely off the bristles so the brush was like new. SO happy that it turned out to be much less of a chore than I was expecting!

A vacuum bag later...
I rent and am blessed with a great landlord. But both the dryer and refrigerator have displayed unacceptable run times for their respective tasks. So I did a little exploring. You don't want to know what I found. How many years does it take to build up that much gunk? So I got this brush, along with a rotary (drill) system for the dryer ducting. The brush worked okay for the dryer. I chalk a big part of it up to the dryer design, but this brush didn't do much brushing. It certainly did not grab and retrieve much. Instead, it worked well as a shape-able scraper that allowed me to get into all those little corner and hard-to-reach spots, loosening a good deal of adhered debris. Had I also bought a vacuum attachment, I could have reached in there and sucked it out. The brush itself was not very useful in debris removal. For the fridge, it was much more powerful, probably because it was not fighting gravity. I made at least 100 plunging swipes with this brush and removed a great deal of the visible debris. Although I admit that I also tilted the fridge slightly to allow more robust access to the coils, I expect that if you regularly (~2-4 times per year) take five minutes to clean the coils, that will not be necessary. It did a great job grabbing onto the chunks of dust that had accumulated. It did okay simply dusting where there was not accumulation. Definitely couple it with a vacuum to remove the debris after each swipe. Recommend you couple it with something like a microfiber vent brush to do the finer dusting at the end. Worth its weight in gold via electricity savings, whether you have the discipline to do preventative cleaning or find yourself in a catch-up situation like I did. There may be other better brushes, but this one served me just fine.

Works perfect, great length, great brush
Very happy with this purchase! Long enough to reach all the lint my dryer was collecting that I couldn't get myself. The thick brush on the end works out absolutely perfect for this & doesn't bend or get warped. Just works amazing!
