Good shoes.

If you find a good deal, snag these guys. They’re not the grippiest Mtb shoes I’ve ever used, but they’re not the worst. They’ll last forever.

Great shoes - runs small

***Update- I was using cheap Rockbros flat pedals and have since upgraded to One Up Composite pedals and they are far better pedals. The etnies grip a lot better. This is my first year on flat pedals. Been on clipless since the 90's. I've only had these and Ride Concepts Livewire's. I like the fit of these more than the Livewire's although they do run 1/2 size small (the Livewire's are 1/2 to full size small). 9.5’s fit my 9 feet perfect. Very comfortable. As far as grip I think the rubber itself is grippy but the tread pattern is holding them back a little. They have shallow, narrow, angled long grooves and I don't think it's the best design for pedal screws to lock into. They were definitely moving around a bit more than the Ride Concepts. But that also made it very easy to make slight adjustments or to get them back on if they did come off. I'm keeping them because the fit is so good and they're comfortable. They felt light and easy to walk in but also stiff on the pedals. Laces are very long.

Quality MTB shoes

A great standard shoe for flat pedal mtb use. Very comfortable and good ventilation for hot and warm climates. I believe these will be the standard for any other mtb shoe I try, I plan to order another pair for future use. Quality construction.

Cool shoes but...

The top of the tongue was digging into my foot/ankle, made it really uncomfortable & painful. Used only once on my ride and knew this wasn't my kinda shoe, contacted Amazon to return the same day. Also, shoe is stiff all around (good thing for pedaling on the rubber side) but the rest will need a lot of breaking in. If you use thick socks w your usual size this will be a tight fit. I use thin compression socks when I ride so it wasn't as tight fitting but sizing up by a half would prob be best.

Most durable of all the Etnies

My son has tried every skate shoe claiming to be durable and this is our go to even though I realize they're for bike not skate. Awesome shoes. Highly recommend.

Great for me!

The shoes fit as they should. Very water resistant. Survived 6 months so far with 1-3 rides a week anywhere from 8-20 miles trails and street. Tough michelin rubber has no problem dealing with my raceface chester pedals. clean easy. Only con I can think of is the laces are a little long. But that’s nit picking. Great shoes for mtb.

Great bang for the buck.

Nice design, with built up toe support and firm sole. The tread is almost to grippy with mtb paddles. You pretty much have to lift your foot off to reposition your feet. Quality materials, as far as I can tell. This shoes seem to wrap around your feet without any loose pockets. At first I thought they made them to small, but after about 10 min, my feet settled in quite nicely. They fit perfectly snug, some might want to get a half size bigger, if you are on the fence for sizing. A solid alternative to the popular brands.

Skater style, waterproof and firm sole

I really like them. I bike to work, but don't believe you should have to change clothing to be a city biker, so I'm always trying to find things that are functional for my commute but just look like street clothes (I don't need to dress professionally for work). These fit the bill great. They look like a classic etnies skate shoe, but they're made of a very waterproof (and easily wiped off) material. The sole doesn't feel thick, but it's very firm and sticks really well to my bike pedals. The soles felt very very stiff when I first started wearing them, I thought that they'd be fairly uncomfortable to walk around in, but I've been wearing them 4x a week for a couple months and they've softened up to feel like regular skate shoes at this point. They're a little hot due to the waterproofing, but that was expected. I bought a men's 6, which the tongue says is a US W 7.5, my usual size for shoes, and they fit as expected. My toes touched the ends at first but they have broken in nicely.

Purchased exactly what was ordered. True to size. He says they’re more shoes than trainers but I don’t think that’s a negative ???? Love them.

Sturdy MTB shoes

Very comfy. Order .5” above what you normally wear. I took the advice from another review and they were right.
