I actually waited two years to decide whether or not to purchase this, along came a sale and still in my cart I decided to buy it. I’m pleased with the quality and craftsmanship, this is a beautiful work of art. A perfect fit for my collection. A must have!

An Evil Eye Keeps Watch Over Disney's First Princess & Her Friends

In what appears to be the bottom half a wooden log, Jim Shore has bestowed ten beautifully sculpted figures. Our seven friendly Dwarfs (from left to right) Happy, Doc, Sneezy, Grumpy, Bashful, Dopey, and Sleepy standing semi-circle around Walt Disney's "Fairest of them All", our first Princess, Snow White. Who appears to sitting with legs bent underneath her (as you cannot see her feet), hidden by her delicately splayed dress to which her hands are held frozen in a fixing position. Just as any well manner lady or Princess would adjust herself to neatness for the public eye. Her wicked Step-Mother the Evil Queen keeps an equally watchful eye over Snow White and friends all while holding the box meant for the woodsman to place Snow's heart in. And our tenth figure came as a surprise to me. The Wicked Queen's secret identity, The Evil Witch stands back to back with our Evil Lady (Not Shown in the picture -I'll try and upload one for full effect viewing purposes). Complete in her old hag robes, wart, stringy white hair, and all; with bubbling green caldron and faithful sidekick, The Black Crow. The figure stands at almost Nine inches tall and is meticulously detailed in the classic Jim Shore design pattern with beautiful, vibrant, vivid colors. While it appears to be carved out of a wooden log, it is all an illusion. The piece itself it made out of resin (like most all Jim Shore creations) and while it does have weight to it, the piece is not heavy at all. I'd compare it's heaviness to that of a small kitten, and of course, as with all glass or resin items, delicate. It won't break taking it out of the box, but it's not a decoration for anyone under 14, unless they are well trusted with would be breakable items. It's a beautiful decoration piece for any Disney themed room or simple brick-a-brack. It comes neatly packed surrounded by thick foam, molded for its shape in the center, inside the classic Disney Traditions Showcase Enesco Red/Teal-Blue box, with included 1 inch by 1 inch display placard that reads "The One That Started Them All". It's a welcome treasure to any Disney Collector/Lover. It's meant to be a gift for my mother, and I simply cannot wait to give it to her. If you purchase this item, you will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't.

Dual sided queen makes the piece!

Let me start by saying I am a HUGE collector of Jim Shore Disney Traditions pieces, and this Snow White piece is fantastic! I ordered the Snow White Carved by Heart piece to expand my collection and it is perfect. It arrived on time, with no breakage (often a challenge with mail order pieces), matching the description dimensions, nice clean paint with no chips, and ready to be put on immediate display. I shopped around for some time before purchasing this piece trying to get the best price and even with shipping, this vendor had it to me quickly and for an amazing discount above local retail. This is an absolute must have piece for any Disney, Jim Shore or Snow White collector. It is wonderfully detailed and you can feel the conflicting emotions displayed in the piece. Looking forward to getting more pieces for my personal collection soon!

These are damaged factory seconds

I received a statue with color issues and ordered a replacement, but the second one arrived in the exact same condition. The quality and coloration do not match the photos in the listing. The color issues are shown in the photos - the Evil Queen should have purple robes (not light blue), her whole neck should be black (not a chin strap), and her robe color faded way too high up. There's also no shading on the base of the figure where the dwarfs are standing, the whole thing is beige. There's discoloration on some of the dwarfs beards and Snow has blue on her chest. Both statues were very sloppy overall and I'm surprised these were sold as new with no mention of the issues. Not Jim Shore quality, returning and do not recommend.
