Looks nice. Just wish it was actually wooden.

I bought three of these lamps when I redecorated a portion of our basement. My wife liked them so much, I made more work for myself because she want me to replace the sconces in our basement stairway with two more of them. They’re pretty well made. The glass is thick and sturdy. The lamp looks fine, as long as you don’t examine it too closely. It’s metal painted to look like oak. My only problem with these lamps was that it comes with a place which is intended to be screwed into an electrical box. That plate has two long screws which are partially screwed into the back of that plate which need to sit at 9 and 3 o’clock, as the body of the lamp has matching mounting holes through which these screws must protrude by about 1/3”. My problem was that all five of my wall boxes had only two screw tabs — at 3 and 9 o’clock. So, if I just screwed the mounting plate in, the two mounting screws were rotated well past level. There were two possible solutions, both of which involved ditching the mounting plate and screwing the mounting screws directly into the wall box tabs. The first, screwing them in in reverse from within the box was nearly impossible for me, even though my fingers are relatively long and thin. I managed on one attempt, but after lots of frustration and some too coarse language, I decided to go another route. I had some long 8-32 x 2” machine screws in my inventory. I cut off the head of the screws with a pair of bolt cutters, which left a jagged end. Since one end needed to screw into the box and the other into the mounting caps, I filed off the cut end until the threads were clean enough to function as a screw. This worked fine. In my opinion, this kit would be improved greatly by providing long screws which decorative heads. Otherwise, just providing a pair of 8-32 x 1-3/4” threaded rods would be a big help in a situation like mine. There are clear stickers with white-lettered warnings on one side of the lamp. Overall, though, I can recommend these lamps.
