Awesome product but
Hi I am the wife, I love this product, it feels great on my face, creamy with a bit of grit. The only thing I don’t like is that I’ve bought about 5 bottles now from Amazon and two different stores when I can find it, but every single bottle after a few uses the pump doesn’t work. Nothing comes out and yes I tried to see what the problem was. So I have to tap the bottle on my hand each time. But it is a great product.

Warning : contains polypropylene glycol
Had to wash off after less than 5 seconds. It turns out my skin is sensitive to polypropylene glycol, which is the second ingredient so there’s a lot of it in this product. My face is now very pink, incredibly dry and the moisturizer I put on right away feels sticky. I didn’t read the instructions well enough to be using it anyway. The back of the bottle says it can be used by people with dry skin. I don’t recommend it for people with dry, sensitive skin. Not at all. Within two seconds of putting it on my dry skin it started to burn. Not tingle. Burn. Thankfully it rinsed away very well, very quickly. I messed up with the product big time anyway. For starters it’s called a *peeling* exfoliant. I bought it thinking that I would be letting it dry and then peeling it off. No, it’s not that at all. You put it on, rub your fingers in circular motions for a little bit and then rinse it off. There’s no letting it dry and peeling it off. Important distinction. So that was a big disappointment. Now, though I only had it on a few seconds, my skin is freaking out. Polypropylene glycol, the second ingredient, is “generally considered safe” according to the CDC. It’s used in some makeup and medications. It is also used to get the ice off airplane wings. And as a paint solvent. I can’t believe I didn’t read the instructions or the ingredients list! I’m just not interested in using skincare with polypropylene glycol anymore. My skin is so dry and freaking out that I put a thick eye cream all over my face and the thick had soaked in completely within a couple of minutes. It’s Kiehl’s avocado eye cream, which usually takes a good 20 minutes to soak in. Even though they cost more, I want to switch to all natural ingredients from now on. Those types of products are generally more expensive, but it’s been over an hour and my face still feels like it’s going to crack from extreme dryness. I just don’t like this product.

I love this product
So first of all, this is a response to some negative reviews, the pieces that end up balling up are NOT your dead skin nor are they meant to be. If you learn about this product properly and what it’s supposed to do, it’ll make sense to you. The first consistency of it is a light creamy feeling, when you rub it together, the texture changes to the little pieces and THAT is what is exfoliating your skin. That change in texture is purposeful since that’s what is going to make your skin look amazing. Ok now to my experience, I purchased on a whim and realized it was a much more affordable version of something I used to use. My skin was looking bleh but this makes it look and feel so beautiful. It feels super soft and it looks cleaner, more hydrated. This is the second bottle I’ve bought and I’ll keep buying it especially because it’s so affordable. You should only use it like every other day or every 3rd day so you don’t over exfoliate. I have eczema and really sensitive skin with absolutely no issues with this product. Another thing to note, the company recently changed the way this bottle looks, the blue is darker and the text is different, so it’s slightly different from the photo but I checked the elf website and they had photos with the new design.

I love this exfoliant so much. Rubbing the dead skin off my face is so gross and yet soooo satisfying. But omg. E.L.F. PLEASE put this is a better bottle. Half the time, the pump doesn't work. Then, when you get down to what you think is the last bit, surprise! There's a lot of product clinging to the inside of the top of the bottle, where the bottle flares out from the neck. And no amount of shaking, tapping, or cussing will get it all out. Hella frustrating. But it works soooo well so I put up with this terrible, horrible, absolutely awful pump/bottle combo.

This is a keeper!
This product lives up to the descriptions: no fragrance, exfoliates gently, and doesn't irritate. I will be using this as long as it's around! Highly recommend (and I have sensitive skin).

this exfoliant is way better than the harsh scrubs you'll see online. I have sensitive skin and this gives me a healthy glow that doesn't irritate my skin. definitely would recommend it!

Can’t rate this high enough! Great for combo skin and pores
My entire adult life I’ve suffered with adult acne, oily skin and enlarged pores. I’ve tried every primer going and still have a strawberry skin nose when applying foundation. I have really awkward skin, ridiculously oily but also very dry and flakey in places so some products dealt with the oil but exasperated the dryness. Until this stuff! My god is it good and weirdly satisfying. I’ve been using it twice a week in place of normal cleanser and what a difference! I’ve found the best method is to lightly wet my skin then apply a small amount all over my face. Wait a minute then start massaging it and the dead skin lifts and comes away, followed after by a light moisturiser. No spots, massive reduction in oil and the best part is a huge reduction in pore sizes. My foundation now glides on with minimal strawberry nose ????

Great product but pump didn’t work initially...
This product works amazingly well, removing dead skin cells from my face and leaving it glowing. It is very similar to another product I have used, but a third of the price, so definitely worth the switch. I have only scored this 4 stars because when it arrived, the pump did not work. I resolved this by putting the bottle in a cup of warm water to loosen the product a little, and flushing the pump through, with warm water and using a thin brush in the tube to clear it out. I gave it all a thorough rinse and dry before putting it back together. It worked perfectly well, after doing this.

I have been using a far more expensive exfoliant and thought I'd try this less expensive one. I was amazed at how much better Elf is. You put it on a dry face and can see your excess skin being removed. After washing it off your face is smooth. I am impressed by this product.

If you have dry skin-buy!
I can not believe it works soo well. I have super dry skin, doesn't matter the season but this helps reduce the dryness. I have only had this for a short time and already I have seen and felt the difference. My skin is already softer to the touch, looks less dry, dry patches have basically gone. (I will admit I am using a better cleanser which is also helping this result). I can see this lasting some time as you only need a small amount and use 2-3 times a week. To me it has a lovely gentle, subtle scent.

Does exactly what I hoped it would.
I just received my elf peeling lotion. I used to use one in China from a brand called 'Watson's' and it was my go to product while on tour as a DJ and singer over there. No matter what, that peeler refreshed my skin like a spa facial. I loved it. I have searched and searched since my return to the West for a similar product, and I have finally found it here with this elf peeler. IT removes the top, dead layer of the skin which bubbles off. It is your skin coming off as I suffer from dry skin and I know it has taken off dry flakes and areas quickly and easily. This product is going to be a must have in my bag. After using it (the minute it arrived I could not wait!) I used it twice in a row, as I think I needed some extra help. It left no irritation to my sensitive skin and left me looking fresh and feeling very soft and smooth indeed. 5 stars.
