Perfect fit, just what I needed for my Eemax SP3512
The element was difficult to get seated all the way, but that's what it takes to make a good seal. This brought our old Eemax SP3512 Point of Use heater back to life!

The original Eemax unit ran for several years in occasional use in a remote utility sink. The original heating element burnt out after disruption to the water supply. You really want that element immerse in water - not air. The replacement fit fine with two minor annoyances. First, the plastic separator at the end isn't a proper fit to the replacement. Not a big deal. Second, the original bushing to restrict flow to .5 gpm was too restrictive - and the unit would not turn on even with the faucet full on. After opening up that bushing -- and now modulating the faucet flow manually to be slow enough to get reasonably hot water -- it works OK. Ideally this last another several years . . . On edit: turns out it lasted about a week. I've changed the rating from four stars to one. The failure was NOT due to the heater running dry -- I took care to make sure there was no air in the incoming water line. In comparing the old element to the new - the old element had a heavier nichrome wire with a straight portion welded to a heavier coil on one side. The new element has a lighter coil the full distance. Further edit: a second attempt at a replacement also died in about a week. Time to seek another brand.

the circuit board is good and works the way it should
The element was the exact duplicate of the old one which had a broken wire, but this didn't solve the problem. The relay was also defective and a new one was purchased and installed. That did not solve our lack of hot water, the circuit board is good and works the way it should. That only leaves two items that could be the problem, the bung or the faucet strainers. The system worked fine for over a year and now we can't find the problem.

You dont want to have to replace the whole heating unit like we are
This product did not fit into the unit, and eventually got stuck in the unit (SP3512). We are having to order a new Heating Unit SP3512 because this replacement part got jamed into the unit. Not sure if it is the wrong replacement element for the SP3512. I would suggest to be careful when replacing the unit in case it gets jammed. You dont want to have to replace the whole heating unit like we are.

Great replacement
This is a perfect replacement, but must follow instructions letter by letter, or you’ll risk burning it out. Always flush out air before turning on power. I had no problems. Works as advertised.

Terrible product
I have 8 mini hot water units, All new and having minimal use. The cost of these elements, to heat the water, is very high, about 50.00 each. I purchased 4 elements to try to get the units to work. These did not work. I purchased different units (complete units not just the elements) which do the same thing (heat water) for almost the same cost as these elements alone. These other units are working. Overpriced. Non performing. Eemax is the worst compoany I have ever dealt with. Refused any return or compensation for these failing units.
