This is a nice ... blanket, but not for electric heat
Three stars because this blanket, when I purchased, was similar in price to a fleece throw of similar size without the electric heat feature. As an FYI, I did pre-wash the blanket before I went through this process following the instructions on the paperwork included with the blanket. I went through the process to download and install the software for the Alexa connection. It was a struggle to find the instructions, but apparently in order to be findable to your network, hold down the button on the cord at the same time you plug it into the outlet. This makes the light blink. After installing the app, I kept getting notifications that the app times out when trying to connect to the network. I reset my router for troubleshooting. Of course, this was if my phone could actually find the blanket signal. I maybe managed twice to find the signal, but during troubleshooting I would lose the signal. For blanket features, it is soft on both sides of the blanket. One side is sherpa texture, and the other is a non-textured fleece. What is slightly weird is that the warning label of the blanket is not at the same location as where you would plug in the cord to the blanket. It is located at the adjacent corner of the shorter length edge. The blanket can be used manually. When plugged in, pressing the button so that the blue light is steady lit, the blanket will heat. CAVEAT!!!! I do not know if the manual feature has a one-temperature setting and/or if it has a shut-off feature after a length of time. I intend to use it the remainder of the winter in manual. However, as I do not know actual temperature or shut-off time, I will plug it in at the outlet to pre-warm my bed, and before I go to sleep I will unplug it from the outlet. While this blanket will accomplish my main use of pre-warming my bed before sleep, I would no re-puchase this blanket, nor would I recommend for anyone else to purchase.

Blanket wise this is great.
Blanket wise this is great. My mom loves it. The app DOES NOT WORK as I wish I had read all the reviews before I bought it. So if you’re looking for that feature I wouldn’t buy this. But blanket and heat wise it’s great.

Wi-Fi app doesn’t work
The heat works great, but the RH app doesn’t work. There is no way to control the heat setting. It’s either on, or off.

Bought 2 -wifi app sucks and doesn't connect. nice and warm when on/off switch is on.
nice and warm when used as an electric throw. Just not a SMART app or product. I bought 2 of these and neither one would connect to wifi via the app. Both work fine when NOT used as a smart app product. Most of the reviews state the same issue.

Good blanket, wifi doesn't connect
The package was delivered on time and packaged well. The good stuff: - The blanket is very soft. - I like the color. I really wanted the blue one but I ordered the khaki color because it was on sale. I was pleasantly surprised with the beige color fleece side. - The blanket does heat up nicely. At first it seemed too hot but since it has gotten colder out, I've adjusted to the level of heat in the blanket. - My cat loves it! The bad stuff: - I cannot get this blanket connected to the wifi. I have a dual banded router and tried using both 5ghz and 2.4 ghz. I read that is a common problem in other reviews. I have reached out to the manufacturer so if they can get it working I may change the star rating. - It is difficult to even get the blanket into pairing mode. Every single time I try, I have to unplug it and plug it back in while holding down the power button. Then I have to push the button on and off several times before it starts to blink. - Without wifi I cannot change the level of heat or set a timer or any of the other things that are available on the app. This could've been a five star rating if the blanket would connect to wifi.

Blanket is great, App is terrible!
The blanket itself is nice, soft, and cozy. The RH Sleep app does not work and will not connect, so the benefit of the Wi-Fi control is worthless. The blanket still heats when plugged in, gets warm, maybe too warm, so it would be nice to have the option to turn the temperature down. So bottom line, it works but only one temperature and it has to be manually controlled.

Unnecessarily Hard to Set Up
First, this blanket is incredibly soft. It makes you want to snuggle deep into it. Second, the cord is a sufficient length. Third, and this is pretty important, setting this up with the app was a nightmare. I'm a very tech savvy person and often don't need instructions to figure something out. I mistakenly thought I could handle a throw blanket. I quickly realized I did need those instructions, but guess what, it's not included. At all. It doesn't tell you what app you need, or the naming convention of the blanket, or anything. I literally learned everything from reading other Amazon reviewers. And even then it took me the better part of a day to figure it out. I had to take a break and leave it for a few hours before I calmed down enough to try again. And it's imperative you set up the app as there is no heat control on the controller. If you're thinking about getting this blanket because you absolutely must have its 'smart' capabilities, make sure to read through the reviews here to get instructions and pointers before you start. Don't wait until the middle of the set up process like me.

The product blew up on me when I plugged it in - even with the right plug and transformer
DON'T order this item if you live in Australia. I knew it was coming from the USA but that didn't worry me because I have bought electrical items before and been able to use them in Australia with the right transformer and plug. I purchased the right equipment but it obviously short circuited as soon as I put the power to it - a large sharp bang occurred. It has never worked and I cannot return it as the 'window for return has closed'. It is supposed to be under warranty for a year so I don't understand this as I bought it less than a year ago. AMAZON you should do better than this - I should be allowed to return this item for a full refund - especially as I frequently buy items from you and give good reviews.
