It's ok, but not great

While it "works" the quality is not great. As another reviewer mentioned, the threads feel like they could strip easily, and it's tricky to get everything locked into the place you want while being careful of this. What I really like about this unit is the flexibility the extended motion sensor piece provides and its wide angle of detection. The location I was attempting to mount a light had to be right behind a rain gutter. Thanks to the extended and pivoting sensor connector, I was able to get the sensor exactly where I needed it to be. Thanks to the impressively wide coverage, it can trigger in the range that I need it to be. Some people will like the feature that it can turn on at night and stay on for 2, 4 or 6 hours before returning to motion detection only. It will also do dusk to dawn or constant on in addition to the usual on by trigger only at night mode. The biggest complaint about this unit is the detection distance. Even on the most sensitive setting, it works at less than 25' feet. That all being said, it has its place for specific applications where other products wouldn't work, mainly because of the long bar for the motion sensor. Otherwise, you would have to get a remote sensor like the Heath/Zenith SL-6050-WH. There are PDFs of the manual and quick start for this unit at platt.com

I gave the additional star rating for the great warranty support I received for Eaton

I give the light 3 stars. After 21 months the sensor only works when set to "test" mode. Also, you can only set the sensor "on" time to a minimum of 4 minutes. Would have perferred a 1 minute setting to save energy. I gave the additional star rating for the great warranty support I received for Eaton, Coopers parent company. They replaced the defective light with a new one. I should mention that the light did perform great during the first 20 months.

Pretty Much Junk

This Unit was the best of the three units I purchased to replace an all metal unit that was about four years old. I could not locate any “all metal” units, so I returned the first two and tried to mount this one. It is difficult to mount, has a small base that barely covers the electrical outlet hole, and is mostly made of plastic. The motion detector was mediocre, requiring one to come within 5 or six feet to make the lights come on. After getting frustrated trying to find a quality motion detection light, I decided to try the Ring Floodlight Camera unit, since I do use Ring cameras around the property. The Ring unit is solid, comes with everything needed to make a “sanitary” installation, and operates perfectly. Moreover, the camera and siren are an added bonus. I hope the manufacturers who make motion detection light systems will bring back the heavy duty metal fixtures that I have been purchasing for the last 25 years. I have my doubts, however.

High quality lighting at a good price

Took a chance and bough this light via Amazon's discount program featuring reclaimed/restored products at a discount over list. I must say this light has turned out to be a winner all the way. The sensor has worked flawlessly for some time now. I put two Led 65 watt equivalent flood lights in place of the typical bulbs which results in very fast 'on' times and, of course, power savings. Nice lamp at a bargain price. Let's hope it keeps working.

Sensitivity setting inop

Well, the light timer works well. The light goes on and off as it is supposed to. Unfortunately, the sensitivity setting is almost useless, and it is only good for about 20 feet or less. This light was installed as an "eave mount." I tried several sensitivity settings and several adjustments of the sensor position itself, and the results were always the same. The lights are not blocking the sensor at all. At the max sensitivity setting, I could almost walk up directly front of the light (five feet from it) before the light would even come on. At the sides, the light comes on about 15 feet from the light. Again, the sensitivity setting made zero difference.

Cost effective, simple functional security light. Does what it needs to, detects motion over a wide area and is very adjustable.

WOW

This is a GOOD product. This replaces the Heath Zenith which would not stay on unless you did jumping jacks in front of it. This one BEHAVES! Its adjustments work as documented. EXCELLENT product.
