Huge Timesaver

This drop cloth makes painting a breeze. It unrolls nicely and the serrated edge means you're not fumbling for scissors. I only wish the tape part was wider.

This is a great product. Used it on my car to protect the rest for overspray and sanding dust. 22 inches is a bit smaller than i thought it would but the product clearly states thats the dimension. Held up very well and the incorporated blade made tearing off sections very quick. Making prep work not so awful. Highly recommend

This is the horrible execution of a great idea. It will only add frustration to your project.

It is obvious the manufacturer has never actually used this product. The concept is great. This version of the concept is horribly flawed. First, the attached blade at the edge will only give you trouble. The first thing you need to do is take a piece of paint or other tape and secure the plastic 'guard' that is over the blade so that it does not fall off while trying to get the product to unroll. If the blade is exposed it will constantly tear the plastic. Design flaw #1. Just use scissors. Next, the shaft that holds the tape in the dispenser needs to be removed so you can remove the tape from it so you can remove the wrapper/label off of the tape. Then put it back in. If you try to cut the packaging off while the tape is in the dispenser, you'll likely cut the first layer or two of tape. Remove the packaging and put the tape back in the dispenser. As soon as the tape is unraveled, the rolled up plastic sticks to the strip of tape. Design flaw #2. The rolled up plastic is right at the edge of the tape. There is no gap to keep it from inadvertently sticking to the tape The only way we found to avoid this was to have a 2nd person run their finger along the tape as it was unrolled to unroll the first layer of plastic and get it away from the strip of tape at the top. You spend most of your time and effort detaching the plastic from the tape. It also makes it impossible to apply long strips of plastic. You wind up doing 2ft pieces at once. The strip of tape attached to the plastic is just over 1/2 inch wide. Design flaw #3. It will only barely hold on to anything you attach it to and will detach if you accidentally touch it, brush past it, or if it is met with even the slightest breeze. We wound up having to use wide painters tape to reinforce the full length of every piece we put up. In the end you'll realize like we did that you would have been better off using plastic and taping it up yourself. I would pay money to see a video an executive of the company that manufactured this trying to use it. At least it's an inexpensive product, right?

Awesome pre-taped drop cloth, great for bathroom borders and floor edges

We completely renovated our bathroom and used this to protect our expensive bathroom border tile, as well as the floor edges and corners. Worked like a charm. Hubby was opposed to idea until he saw how easy and helpful it was. Cheap considering the peace of mind it afforded us. Highly recommend

It's as easy as a Quack!

Wonderful product all around. Price and shipping was easy. The paper unfolds to 22" after the tape is pressed on the project. Tape sticks very well and tears off with a simple twist of a wrist. Highly recommend!

This stuff works great!

This stuff was amazing! The tape was super sticky and the cloth itself was really strong so it didn't tear when you walked on it or moved things around on it. Would highly recommend it when painting!

Good Idea Cheaply Executed

The tape needs to be wider and the "cloth" a heavier gauge of plastic. The plastic sticks to itself on the roll as one would expect, but when unrolling the part next to the tape, which on my roll has been more compressed than the rest, sticks and tears so the "cloth" ends up with holes. If not shopping online, look for a roll with a completely smooth, no crinkles, plastic portion. As for the width of the tape, if you are taping glass, mirrors or countertops you may be okay, but the light weight of the plastic allows it to drift under the tape before it is stuck. Perhaps with the practice of many many rolls one could become adept at using this product as currently manufactured, but I am not taking the risk and am returning to the old methods of surface protection.
