It works but be careful
It serves the purpose of allowing you to rest if you need to. But…considering that the person in need of this is probably a person somewhat unsteady on their feet it’s awkward to sit (straddling) and can feel “tippy”. Balance could be an issue. With that said this is another tool to keep you moving.

Great item!
This is sturdy and light and very comfortable to sit in!

Good quality but missing something.
This fold-up cane-seat is missing one of the black rubber things on the end of one leg. I tried the other 3 & could not pull them off, so I know they don’t come off easily. So the seat rocks back & forth a little, which is not very safe. I can’t use it.

It's not a cane, but it's a good seat
I've had three of these Drive folding sling/hammock seats in the past 6 years because they are lightweight but hold my weight, fairly comfortable, easily portable, and take up very little space when folded.. Both of the earlier ones lasted until one of the big support screws fell out and was lost, so they *do* wear out after a while. But they make for a fine portable sit-down while they last, and well worth the cost. One quibble about the product: it isn't a cane. I have to use a cane sometimes ,and so I know what one is. A cane is a walking stick, and does not have four legs (except for the bariatric models). What the Drive is, is a folding seat or stool or a hammock chair, and a decent enough one.

I love this thing
Important to know: I don’t follow the directions to straddle the seat. Instead, I open it and sit like I would in any chair. I’ve never felt unstable. Now, onto my review: I bought this just over a year ago. I have a medical condition that lets me walk, but I can’t stand still for long. (Bye Bye, Disney World). Even standing in line at the grocery store was too hard. This cane/seat has helped me so much. I still can’t manage Disney-sized waiting lines. But normal everyday outings are possible for me again. I keep it in my car and take it in places. It is so easy to use. I’ve had some odd looks sitting in line (I think they are all jealous). But I’ve had a lot more compliments. It has held up to my use of it (not everyday). Yesterday, after owning it for 13 months, I noticed the foam on one of the handles has started ripping. It is a minor issue. Considering I’ve used it for over a year, I’m very pleased. My one suggestion is if you buy this to put your phone number on it in some kind of long lasting marker. I keep meaning to do that because I have left this in a restaurant and a shopping cart. I don’t want to lose it.

Very uncomfortable swing seat.
The instructions shows a person straddling the canvas swing seat. I am a male and found this very uncomfortable in the crotch area. Also being a senior person who is not steady standing on one leg, to sit on this chair you need to straddle the seat meaning to swing one leg over the top of the frame while balancing on the other leg. To get off, the same straddle needs to be done. Dangerous! Potential for falling

I’m VERY happy. Best cane I’ve ever used.
Like many others, I have tried the three legged cane with a seat and found it lacking. This one, however, I love. I find the sling seat more comfortable than the 3 legged plastic one. I’ve sat both straddling like it says to but also sideways. On level or mostly level ground both work fine. (I’m female, 5’5”, 150 pounds if that helps.) If you are on an incline you will want to straddle this. I waited in line over an hour to get vaccinated and it was a very steep hill. I sat straddled on this and it worked like a champ. Pushing down on the front handle when seated was very study and helped me get up. Getting up as the line inched along and sitting back down was a breeze. I will admit after more than an hour I was glad to sit in a regular chair, but I never felt like I wanted to get up from this because it was so uncomfortable. For me this is the best purchase I’ve made for my health. It opens up so many doors to things I can do now. When it’s folded up I like using it over my “regular” cane. Folded for walking it works like a two legged cane. It seems to provide more support to me with the extra legs and just flows better with my stride. I find I don’t feel the need to lean on it when I’m walking like I do my other cane, so I can walk straighter, which leads to less pain. And when I’m standing briefly enough that I don’t need to sit it definitely provides more support for me to lean on over a regular cane. In those instances I usually stand with it folded in front of me and lean on it some for support. But be prepared, people will ask about it because it’s so great. My physical therapist had never seen one like this and now she recommends it to lots of people.

REAL MEASUREMENTS AND OBJECTIVE REVIEW:
The useable seat is 5.5 x 14. This is different from description, the 'from the manufacturer' measurements, and an answer I got! Manufacturer got the seat to floor right - 22 inches. I am 5.4 and weight 132 and it works as a 'straddle' seat and a seat with the foam grips on both sides. It is true- as another reviewer said -my hips are slightly squeezed when seated this way, so if you are much bigger you must do the straddle way. Quite comfortable for a rest or to get a rock out of your shoe. I think the difference between the 1 star and 5 star reviews is the expectation. For a very disabled, heavy, unstable, or very elderly this is not going to be a good product. The video shows a somewhat unstable women using it as a cane and I think you can see - it doesn't look very stable. If you REALLY depend on putting a LOT of weight on a cane, I would get the 4 legged one as that is the safest most stable to really lean on. Also, if you are extremely heavy I can see how it may not work - so the 250 pound limit is more like 150. As far as straddling it in a dress. You don't have to lift a leg over like mounting a horse, just drop the lower foam grip between your knees and right the legs on the ground and sit. Would not work in a mini skirt, but if you're buying this, you probably are wearing a longer dress! For a person who can walk and would like a seat to rest every once in awhile and would benefit from some walking support this is easy to use, light to carry and -stable. With this as the expectation my overall rating is 5 noting it has all three attributes. Light, sturdy, and stable at a low price point.

I like it a lot
Just two negatives. (1) I am 5’-10” and I wish the four legs are adjustable because I find it about 1” too long when used as a cane. (2) When holding it as a cane for walking, I wish there was more room between the two handles because my right hand is quite thick.

Ridiculous design.
Good: lightweight. Good seat height. Bad: uneven length of legs so it's very wobbly when open. For stability have to sit with legs astride this high seat. So unless you are 6'6" tall & can easily swing your leg over its really useless for anyone else. Don't buy...waste of money.

Better than standing!
I'm mobile but can't stand still for long periods of time, so this makes it possible to sit for tasks in the kitchen. I wish it were slightly higher but it still works.
