Keeps your back upright!
Helps to keep my back upright which maintains the curves in my back. After discovering that i have a bulging disc… i started using this cushion in my car and at home on a sturdy supportive chair, helps alleviates my leg pain. Thumbs up!

Helps prevent mom from sliding forward in her chair. Lifts her knees so her long legs stay straighter.
This works to help keep my mom from sliding forward in her chair. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because it doesn't seem like a really strong slope. It may not be necessary, but she still feels like she might slide so we had to add a seat belt to make her feel secure. Her legs are quite long so if nothing else, it raises her knees so they don't tend to fall sideways and she sits straighter. It also doesn't have a really non skid surface so it does slide around in the seat on occasion. It isn't severe but I think that it would be much better if it had a non skid bottom.

Posture sitting help--Drive Medical Wedge Cushion with Stretch Cover, 18"
We take care of my uncle who is 75 who was born with thoratic, spinal, cervical and sacral curves in his spine. He was born and during aging have progressed. Plus the Rhuematoid arthritis, He is also mentally disabled. To get him to sit up in chairs was a constant issue and with constatnt reminders throughout the day. Now we are using this wedge which has made it possible for him to sit up in a chair while he watches his favorite sports. It is much nicer to have the posture like this as it helps to protect the cocyx area because he can sit up and not lay-like sitting position in his chair. I used these in my longterm care profession for many years, I forgot about using this kind of seat for my own home, --I had to refreshen my brain.

Not firm enough to prevent back pain.
I purchased this because it was large to fit the 20x20" seat of my chair. I sit a lot and so have chronic lower back pain. After two weeks I've determined that the foam in this cushion is much too soft. It is the softest, least dense type of foam I have encountered in these cushions. As soon as a sit on it it collapses the wedge shape to a point where it is not therapeutically effective at preventing back pain. Returned.

AMAZING!!
Nice and firm, but not too firm. Provides excellent support even on chairs that are not quite flat, and is still as light as a feather. Removable washable cover is a nice bonus. We initially ordered just the one, but have been so impressed that we have ordered five more!
