Works peefectly
This fit or deep perfectly in the included hardware secure is it well. This allowed us to reuse our date on the wider opening. No issues whatsoever. Highly recommend.

One of the best pet gates
I’ve owned several of these Dreambaby metal gates and extensions, they are minimally offensive from a decor standpoint while also being functional to keep my dogs from forbidden parts of the house (and still simple for the humans to walk through). I own a couple of different sizes of extensions, this is the widest one. Adding the extension to the existing gate is simple: a couple of screws in top and bottom brackets plus a metal rod to join everything together. It's rock-solid once everything is in place. My only complaint about this gate system is the fact that it has to be completely “straight” to the wall for the pressure system to work the gate part correctly; I own other types of gates that allow for an “angled” shape which naturally gives a lot more flexibility about positioning.

Nice gate system.
Ok...this whole system is pretty good so far. In one opening, which was about 6 or 7 feet I am no longer in that house and have forgotten the exact measurements) I used one 14 inch extension and one 39 inch extension with the gate. The extensions go together easily and appear to be very sturdy. The gate opens easily. The only difficulty I had was in the actual size of the extensions WITH THE WALL ATTACHMENTS. Be careful when you measure because the wall attachments take up an additional 1-2 inches on each end of the whole structure. I was able to use only the glue attachments for the first area where I placed the gate setup because there really was no room to set the more permanent screw in wall attachments. With the second doorway opening I had to return one of the 14 inch attachments and exchange it for the 10 inch attachment because of the aforementioned problem. Also...make sure you do NOT have the quarter round molding on the bottom of the wall because the structure necessitates direct contact with the floor all the way across its width...You can have molding, but it must be flat, not quarter round. So, in the second opening I had to remove the quarter round molding cut out an area for the gate attachment and replace it. The whole structure is actually attractive so no worries about that.

Great Fit & Finish
These extensions (and the gate as well) are among the best I've run into. I'm using the system to block a 70" wide hallway opening. I didn't want to put giant drywall anchors in our rental house, but I was leery about a friction mount system for an opening that big. This system works great. Many friction mount gates have issues with the latches aligning well which results in the gate hanging up and being difficult to open/shut unless it's lined up exactly perfect. Many also don't stay lined up "exactly perfect" for more than a couple days and you constantly have to fiddle with them or deal with the gate being hard to open/shut. That's a pain when you've got a 6yr old who doesn't have the strength to work the gate unless it's operating smoothly and you need it to stay shut to corral an 18mo old. This has been my experience with many normal sized gates so I was pretty cynical about using the extensions for a large opening. My faith in humanity has been restored a little bit now though. This gate system is sturdy, easy to setup, doesn't require holes in you walls, accommodates baseboards easily, and operates smoothly. I'm a happy camper.

Extension easily fit original gate.
Purchased this extension for a wide doorway for my small pets to stay out of other rooms in the house. But my yorkie still managed to get through the bars. So I had 2 put a small mesh at the bottom so he couldn't. But it still served its purpose.

MUST HAVE
If you have pets like we do this is a must have to keep them somewhat out your way, specially when you are truing to cook and they want to beg for scraps. This thing has been a life saver, we bought multiple attachments to cover a large area!

I love how durable it is and that my 15month old ...
I ordered this gate with two extensions as my 15month old was getting into EVERYTHING there is possible. I placed mine at the kitchen entrance as I noticed she started to become very interested in the stove/oven so it was definitely a necessity. I love how durable it is and that my 15month old and 3yr old can't get it open. It has taken its fair share of them trying to shake and rock it to pull it down, but no budging. It is very sturdy. I would definitely recommend this item to all parents of toddlers.

perfect size for space
needed an extention for the space between my kitcen and living room and so far its been sturdy, durable and I love the fact that it opens two ways and self closes. spent quite a bit for this and the complimentary baby gate compared to the smaller baby gates but fair compared to other baby gates of a similar size. very happy with my purchase

Really good gate, looks nice and fits securely to plasterboard walls. Once open can be put in an a position so the gate stays open which is useful if you don't want to block the room off. Gate opens both ways. Very pleased with this purchase. Toddler unable to open the gate, which is why I bought a gate. Extension pieces fit snuggly.

I have user this for the past 5 years, ...
I have user this for the past 5 years , alongside the safety gate. Keeps pets and children secluded when necessary and also helps for partitioning area
