Great ship. Lets you think outside the box.

One of the few ships I'm considering getting another of. The primary function of this ship isn't really that useful (changing other players speed), YET (it may be useful later) but it has some other unorthodox usefulness as a tank/healer. With 9 hull, and a 2 Command ability, you're essentially getting a cheaper Imperial Star Destroyer with the Relentless title, without the forward guns. If you drop an engineering token on this thing and use an engineering command dial, you get 8 engineering points in one round which allows a TON of healing power. Throw on Wulff Yularen (who lets you get that token back), and some projection experts, then you have healer who can shoot 2 shields to another ship, and heal 2 damage cards (or 3 shields) on itself every turn that you draw a engineering command. Update (3/6/2019): Ok, so... I now have three of these. With only 400 points to spare, the strategy I've come up with is to make them all tanky, and to have objectives that require you to collect tokens for points rather than guns. And it's worked pretty well. For extra meanness, I threw the gravity well projector on all three, and that's enough to completely blanket the other player's deployment zone so that every ship he deploys must start at speed zero. Threw tractor beams on each one also, so any medium or small ships that come close (after speeding back up) get slowed right back down. However, if you're facing a fleet with Admiral Ozzel (like I did the first time I tried this tactic), Ozzel ruins all your speed changing abilities.

“It’s a trap!” But you’ll love these ships!

I bought this originally to “collect and display” but now I’m curious about the gameplay and am planning on getting the core set and see if the wife would be interested in playing a few games. The model is very nicely made and has a lot of detail to it. My original intention was to display this on its stand but when I got the Amazon package and opened it, it looks awesome in its packaged state, with the big display windows in the front and back of the box you can see the top and bottom of the ship, it’s awesome and staying in its original packaging for now. :D As far as the game is concerned, I don’t know, I wasn’t planning to know or cared. I’ve bought a few of the Empire ships and I’m planning on a few more that interest me as well as a few “rebel scum” ships too like Leia’s from episode IV. After I get the Armada’s core set and convince the wife of going a few rounds with me, I may or may not “open” my Empire Armada collection of ships. That’s if I get hooked. Anywho, love this ship! I would recommend waiting to purchase the ships you want until they drop in price. I bought this one for $11. Will buy more from this vendor.

Awesome Ship!

Great detail, perfect size. Slightly warped tip however, bends upwards maybe 1-2 degrees. Not super noticable, and on-par with the amount of warping on the tips of all the other "Star Destroyer" models.

Great game, AMAZING MODELS!

Nicely done, I wish the company would just make the models without the game as I'm not a gamer, but the models are superior in design and detail. I buy everything they make but I personally have no use for the game as I'm not a board gamer! I would love to see all of the Imperial star destroyers modeled and I would really love to see each ship on average of at least 10-11" in size. Brilliant work!

This Ship is rather interesting since it has mechanics that are only for one of the ship cards that comes with it. It also has a lot of changing your enemy ship speed cards. You can also use an upgrade card that moves obstacles at the star of the game. The model is great and I might buy another after running it to see if it can run in pairs.
