Good product,

I install showers, I use this clamshell for hardi board cutting in my shower walls to make room for the 5” diameter valve. The key to make this product last long, is to let the speed eat away the wall, don’t press hard again the material you are cutting. Even though I haven open this Clamshell, I have been using one 4-3/8 for tge past 2 years, and still cuts like new.

Well, it almost made 4 holes. It looks like they forgot to weld one side of the armature to the saw blade. I used it anyway thinking maybe it was for expansion or something, but it made only 3 holes before dying. I would get it replaced but I don't want to loose the time I had to get the project done so I'm going to try soldering it back together, which still looses me time but maybe I can still get done this weeekend. Arrrgg, and that's after paying extra to get it shipped faster. Frustrating! It did in fact cut a great hole for the few it made it through, at least. Edit: I decided to return it instead. The replacement was in fact welded on both sides this time and cut beautiful holes (only about 10) without issue or signs of excessive wear. So, I upped the overall star count but kept one star off for quality control. Nice product but give it a once over before use.

Best Hole Saw for installing recessed lights

This is far better than a regular hole saw with teeth which grabs and tears and my not work on both dry wall and plaster ceilings. This saw works on both. Smooth and clean cuts. Also used a Disston E0215000 Blu-Mol RemGrit Hole Saw Accessories Dust Bowl. W Used a Dewalt 2.0 volt drill and was able to drill holes in under a minute each without dust or any mess. Well worth the money no matter how many you have to drill

Great tool for cutting holes for your recessed lights

This works perfectly for 6" lights but you do have to be careful with "drifting" as I found out. Not the fault of the saw, just my old hands trying to remain still. I also purchased the bowl to catch all of the debris which made clean-up a simple task.

This was amazing, 12 holes in stucco Eaves through the wire mesh.

Simply amazing. Some review lead me to buy two of these just to be safe and be sure I could complete the job if one broke or work out. This drilled all 12 holes in my stucco the first time with relative ease. Still about 3-4 times harder than drilling a hole in drywall but very reasonable. the stucco wasn't just chicken wire. it was on the expanded metal screening that is used for ceilings. the hole saw was perfect and still very sharp so I will be returning the second one.

Great purchase, made clean cuts.

Works as advertised! I used it to cut through sheetrock, plaster, lathe, and chicken wire in the plaster. Cut 16 holes, worked the same on the first and the 16th. Solid construction. It did get caught in the chicken wire or other metal almost every hole and sent the drill whipping out of my hands, might have been a drill or operator issue vs the bit issue. Cuts through plaster and sheetrock like butter, wood takes quite a bit longer than normal saw-tooth bits.

This is the one you need.

This was exactly what I needed after a "dual blade" style cutter failed miserably. Cut through plaster on top of cement board on top of drywall with issue. I'd suggest a corded drill as you do have to take your time a bit and I had to recharge my drill twice to get through my project (6 holes) It does produce A LOT of dust (which is expected). I sacrificed a soccer ball to cut in half to create a dome around the cutting area. This helped reduce the amount of dust and debris raining on me. Definitely need to be wearing a dust mask and eye protection.
