Beautifully Made & Cute As Can Be!

He is BEYOND cute and painted beautifully. I was concerned that he was going to arrive with a funny looking painted face that was going to need touching up, but he's perfect and looks very exotic and grand in a cute sort of way. I would like to point out since there is more than one review disappointed because he's smaller than anticipated OR he gets lost next to the sofa, he's 21" in height with the glass top which is 16"x16" so just 1/2" shorter than in the description so get out your tape and measure before you order because he's not monkeying around and just as described within a 1/2". Additionally, he's a very sturdy guy with some serious suction cups on his monkey paws to hold the glass top. Another reviewer indicated that he's not hanging tough, but he's got some serious monkey going on so you don't have to worry about him falling over. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE him! My ONLY negative is I think he's definitely a 'Palm Beach' dollar monkey and a little expensive, but once you see him, you forget about the price. He's the PERFECT size if you're looking for a little side sofa table and because he has a glass top he's not obtrusive as so many side 'wood' tables can be if you're looking to put a table in a small space. He's a keeper and another great piece from Toscano.

Industrial look

This table was a gift for my husband’s birthday. He did like it a lot. He’s an iron worker by trade and works hard everyday. This table is masculine looking perfect next to his favorite leather recliner to relax from the day.

Looked Better On The Web

Feels like painted metal, similar to old time store signs or license plates. Still everything was OK until I attached the feet. They only screw in half way and then you can't get them out. Now I have a wobbly end table. Not worth $450+ maybe $150. Maybe.

Not worth the cost

The table looks great and is very sturdy. However, two of the four the braces came bent. They seem to be solid steel, so they are very hard to bend into place. It makes the table a bit wobbly. Also there were several scratches on the top of the table and even a few small dents. None of these damages are worth the trouble to return the table. But for the cost, the packaging should be better engineered to protect the table better. There were cardboard tubes wrapped around the braces, which just gave more leverage for bending the braces in transit. There was styrofoam framing the table top, but the plastic bag did not protect the table top in transit. Overall, i really like it, but disappointed in the lack of packaging which caused small but irreparable damage.

Beautiful but Basic

The unit was easy to assemble in that the only thing needed was to screw the feet on. However, one of the feet fell off right away due to shoddy materials. Right now the only thing holding that foot on is the weight of the unit. The two "books" that form the top are hollow, but completely enclosed. It's a missed opportunity for more storage. Ditto the main cabinet, which has no shelf. I still love how it looks. It just seems like the manufacturer took a lot of shortcuts that compromise its utility. It's a great conversation piece, though. It gets plenty of compliments.

Gorgeous but slight damage

This is such a unique piece and I really like it. I'm upset that the top corner is damaged. Otherwise it is gorgeous.
