Everyone makes fun of my guy

Everyone makes fun of my guy. Personally I love him. Our garden is a tribute to our terminally ill granddaughter and other children that are sick. I feel like every time I see him I feel as though he has taken our fear and pain away for us and I feel more at ease. When I explain what I see and feel everyone looks at him totally different.

I bought this on Amazon, it is beautiful. Very peaceful and great conversation piece! He sits at our pool, he is light weight but everyone thinks he is made of concrete. Very soothing, the focal point of the backyard.

This is a beautiful, detailed statue that evokes feelings of silence, peace, and healing.

I love this Design Toscano Meditating Shy Yogi of Bali Statue! He is crouched down in deep meditation, and while there's an element of grief to it, it's also peaceful and serene at the same time. When I unboxed him and set him to the side for a little bit in my house, he actually scared our dog and also my youngest son who came around the corner - both of whom assumed it was a real person at a short distance because his form looks pretty lifelike as a small person curled up in the fetal position. This is exquisitely crafted and shaped with real crushed stone and resin - and it convincingly looks much more solid and concrete than it really is. I like that it is super sturdy but still light enough to move fairly easily (this one definitely is best viewed when elevated on a surface of some kind). This shy yogi's form encourages me to practice meditation more often, and I love that it represents him awakening his third eye. I placed him in a fitting space where I can view him in quiet contemplation, and he's perfect for evoking mindful silence to begin meditations. He exudes a sense of raw vulnerability and deep, peaceful calm and healing. Everything about this statue is very well made with beautiful details, and the size is fairly big. Makes a beautiful statue for gardens, pools, spas, memorials, and more. He gets two thumbs up from this household!

Unique accent

I ordered this as an accent for a yoga corner of a home gym. Unboxing this status was super easy. It measure just about 18” tall with about a 2’ x 2’ base. The material is made from is a very heavy duty resin. Design Toscano Meditating Shy Yogi of Bali Statue Looks like a much higher end, carved statue. But it is still light enough for a single person to move. It makes a great corner accent piece to a yoga area. We had been looking for a piece that had a calming and peaceful look to it. While some assume he is crying, we relate that to his being in tune with emotions or using yoga as an outlet for his emotion. The peace and calm he embodies is exactly what we had to achieve. With a few added decorative palms, he has certainly transformed a tiny garage corner to a peaceful private yoga studio. Five stars.

Love my statue,only negative company never included instructions or suggestions preserving the exterior. They simply tell you to store it indoors. Lucky for me I have perfect front hall he will sit for the winter& be seen & enjoyed!

Peaceful Piece?

Also known as the ‘Weeping Buddha’ or the ‘Humble Buddha’ this Bali Shy Yogi depicts a man in a sort of fetal position who has chosen a life of meditation, and who in a world of pain and suffering is available as an inspiration to others. I was drawn to the vision of him sitting in tranquillity on my patio attracting attention with visitors not being able to resist placing a hand on his head, or rubbing his back – and perhaps finding peace. I love the idea – but my wife hates him, and I’m unlikely to find peace until he is banished beyond the garden. Also I’m disappointed at the workmanship which is rather crude with prominent seams and poorly finished features, and though cast in resin and crushed stone I suspect there is more resin than stone. The statue has a textured surface of greyish colour but it has a shiny look that is not weathered and is unlikely to tone down as I would have preferred. This Design Toscano product is expensive but looks cheap – I award 2 stars – and my wife thinks I’m being generous.

Quality and design both lacking

When it comes to garden ornaments, having something that looks great is important alongside it’s ability to stand the test of time – both in remaining great and being of high enough quality to stay looking great as well. Would this lightweight but large yogi statue live up to the expectations? The first thing you notice about this is the size and the weight – it really is quite large but also very lightweight, mainly down to the fibreglass like material it’s made of. This really does detract from the quality in terms of both feel and look of the item – it’s a little bit shiny and doesn’t seem like it would weather much of a storm (even if it doesn’t get blown over). The actual look of the item beyond the front are a little weak too, the shape of the back side being interesting to put it politely. Overall therefore, I would struggle to recommend this statue both on the basis of looks and durability. If you need something like this, then look elsewhere.

Not as expensive looking as it probably should be

Hmmm. It's ok, it's enormous but not heavy. It's a polystyrene type look but with a grey finish. The item itself is surprisingly light and definitely not stone. It's in my garden, purely as to me, it looks like something else. Which I guess artwork should. Realistically, this sort of item should be displayed in a grandiose luxury garden, but sadly this would look out of place in one.
