Beautiful but very small

Beautiful item much smaller than I anticipated, that is what I get for not measuring. On a 4.5 ft wide wall it looks like it’s being swallowed up. I love this item but wish it came in a much bigger size. Back to looking for something like this but with a “wow” impact. Also, you have to be right on top of it in order to read the time. If you have a teeny little space and not a lot of room this could be perfect for you.

The Templeton Regulator Wall Clock

I have always wanted a true weight driven regulator- and this one did not disappoint! The clock is very handsome (looks exactly as shown), and the open, skeleton design shows off the inner workings beautifully. The clock itself is well made with brass gears and metal housing. As noted by others, there does not appear to be any plastic in the construction. I also agree that the clock is a bit smaller than I anticipated and can be difficult to read in a dark room, but this has not hampered my enjoyment of it. My only real complaint is that the pendulum and bob are somewhat flimsy and cheaply made. As a result, it was a little difficult to adjust the height of the bob (which is necessary for regulating the clock). But now that I have it properly adjusted, the clock keeps almost perfect time. Over all, I am very pleased with this clock and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in owning (and caring for) a genuine weight driven clock. P.S. When hanging the clock, keep in mind that the weight needs room to fall. At a “reasonable” height (slightly above eye level), I get 7 days before the weight reaches the ground and needs to be raised.

This is a disappointing product if you're after a very rustic look then go for it but for the price i was expecting a better product

An Absolutely Stunning Time Piece

What can I say about this darling, and beautifully crafted clock? I love it! As other reviewers have said, it is smaller than expected - but that should not put you off buying one. The mechanics, the quality and the instructions on how to commence operating it etc., are all the best quality. You will not be disappointed. There are no batteries or electrical chords. It is regulated by the pendulum and other accessories. And, it does chime, more like an old telephone ring - on the hour. Make sure the hanging chain goes around the sprocket piece - then gently pull one end of the chain to the top - then hook that heavy weight piece on. Gently tap the pendulum - and off you go. The color is as described; absolutely stunning time piece!

I would likely not buy this clock again, but I don't really regret the purchase. I am forever forgetting to wind it. Is it really 8 day? And it only chimes once, regardless of the hour. And... it is far too small to tell the time unless you are quite close. But it uses no power and is quite accurate. Moreover, it is very pretty, and I enjoy the swing of the pendulum and the tone of the chime. If you are interested in the ambience, buy it. You will enjoy it. But if you need to know what time it is, pass. PS It shipped quickly and was well-packed. The instructions were friendly and thorough.

Finally - a working pendulem clock

I've wanted a genuine pendulem clock for a long time. Most places want to sell me a $3 battery-powered quartz movement in a $120 enclosure, complete with a fake, battery-powered pendulem. This is a genuine, weight-driven clock, with an adjustable pendulem to regulate the time. If there's any plastic in the construction, I haven't found it yet. The sides and a good part of the front are open, so you can watch the inner workings do their magic. For a weight-driven clock, this one is fairly quiet, but it does "tick" as would be expected. The bell tone is mellow and pleasant. So far I seem to be getting pretty good "mileage" from the weight, but I'm not sure it's going to make it for 8 days. The clock is a trifle smaller than what I thought, but not alarmingly so. I am very pleased with this clock and would recommend it to family and friends.

Hard To Read

Everything about the clock is top notch, but the hands and clock dial colors are so close to being the same that it difficult to see the time if you are more than a few feet away from the clock.

Pleased with purchase

This item arrived much earlier than expected, was neatly packaged with the parts protected. It took just a few minutes to assemble the clock and it's been running beautifully. Especially enjoy the soft bell ring on the hour. A nice addition to the decor in our home. Very pleased! Month later note..... I wanted to come back to my review now that it's been a month since I set up this clock and I'm still very pleased with this purchase. I only had to adjust the pendulum screw to make it run a little faster and now it keeps perfect time with the clock on my iPHone! I have a variety of antique clocks in my home, but this one is quite the novelty and gets the most attention.

Good buy!

This clock came exactly as promised. Fast delivery too. It is a very stylish open heart clock, made to look old and distinguish. It is not too loud but definitely noticeable so keep that in mind. The size as perceived from all the pictures might be little deceiving, it is small but not too small. Pay attention to the actual measurements provided. Over all there is nothing to complain about. Good buy for the money!

Fabulous pendulum clock...

Beautiful clock. Takes a bit of effort to calibrate the time by adjusting the pendulum, but that is just part of the setup process. Very easy to put together and wall mount. Noticeable 'ticking sound' so could be annoying if you are VERY noise sensitive. Chimes on the hour. Re-wind by re-setting the weight every few days. Would make lovely gift for someone with a traditional style home.
