Finally, a toothpaste that doesn't contain Fluoride!
Fluoride is really not good for you. In my quest to lessen the amount of toxins I put in my body, I'm glad I found this toothpaste. It's not super sweet either.

Cankersores and horrid pain BEGONE!
Okay, I've had chronic cankers for a long long time. If you have ever known: * That sinking feeling when you bite your lip, just KNOWING that you're in for 7-10 days paid when you eat, drink, or breathe... * What a week of food and plaque buildup on a single tooth because of a sore that just won't go away... * The disappointment of planning a date, and getting to enjoy NONE of the food when the day comes because it all hurts so much... * Watching others pour another wine, heap on extra salsa, or enjoy a salty snack knowing that you'll have to pass... * Having your significant other want to make out and smooch, and actually not being able to get in the mood because of pain... ...this is YOUR NEW TOOTHPASTE! Long story short, people love feeling the foam in their mouth when they brush. Makes it feel cleaner, I guess? I never, ever thought about it until I was off to buy my standby Tom's of Maine toothpaste on Amazon. I felt responsible, thinking that I was getting better ingredients and being good to my mouth. GUESS WHO WAS WRONG? IT WAS ME. I read the reviews, which took a nosedive off a cliff and learned something: Tom's of Maine was apparently bought out by one of the big guys a long time ago, who looked at the product and compared it to their magical mouth-care formula. Some old dude in a suit who brushes his teeth exclusively with hundred dollar bills panicked when he realized that it didn't foam as much as others. "MORE FOAM!" he declared, and they dutifully started adding what they add to every other toothpaste out there.... Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS). This stuff not only foams you at the mouth like rabid badger, it is CHEAP. It costs the company practically nothing to add to your toothpaste, and OH BOY DOES IT FOAM. Feel the clean. It's like freebasing crisp mountain air and peppermint patties. Aw yeah. Or is it? If we've all learned our lessons from fast food and dollar-store steaks, it's that you get what you pay for. Who here thinks a wild ingredient like SLS that costs almost zero dollars and adds skillions to the company's bottom line is possibly good for the consumer? Anyone? No? Well you're right. SLS is commonly known to cause stomach ulcers, and is one of the many reasons you're not supposed to eat toothpaste. Specifically, it causes ulcers in thin or broken membranes. SOUND FAMILIAR? I went hunting for a non-SLS toothpaste immediately. There are very few that are non-SLS and aren't a tube of dirt and twigs packaged up by some hippy in the woods, but this is not only one of them, it's the BEST one of them. It doesn't foam, and it's not cheap. It also tastes great, firms up your gums, and doesn't overwhelm the soft, delicate membrane of your mouth with horrid chemicals, causing them to rupture open and fester for weeks in both pain and the potential to have an ever worse infection. FAIR TRADE. I used to spend about 50% of my time with a canker in my mouth somewhere. I switched to this brand about 4 months ago and I have had ONE. It was small and lasted A DAY AND A HALF. Turns out that not pouring ulcerating chemicals into my mouth on a regular basis (or even better, pouring them into open sores in my mouth) was a PRETTY DAMN GOOD IDEA. In four months, brushing with Weleda saved me 60 days of torturous pain, enabled me to actually enjoy 180 more meals, 60 more glasses of wine, 5 more dinner parties, a dozen dates, and NEVER having to shy away from my beautiful wife when she's in the mood. NOW THAT'S SOME TOOTHPASTE.

Great product---but order was not complete
I have used this toothpaste for quite some time and really love it. My concern is my last order only contained one tube, when the order if for two tubes. I also cannot find a way to contact the seller---hopefully they will read this review and correct the situation.

☝????Its own unique class, one of a kind
I like this!!???? It's natural, therefore not to be compared with typical supermarket toothpastes. The flavors and textures of these Weleda toothpastes differ from all other toothpastes. Please do not expect them to foam as typical toothpastes either. Most people are trained by the mainstream, commercially produced, supermarket brand products to believe that all toothpastes should produce a sudsy foamy action in order to clean and freshen property which is simply not true. Though a foamy sudsy feeling is nice, it's not necessary. This is not Tom's brand either so people should not compare because Weleda toothpastes are in a class of their own. That being said to some of the criticisms... I have used Weleda toothpastes for years along with traditional typical big brand toothpastes. I switch and swap from morning and evening brushings throughout the week as well as swapping from month to month. The 3 Weleda toothpastes I use regularly along with my typical brands are this Ratahnia, Calendula and Salt. Though they're said to provide different benefits, the Ratahnia and the Calendula have the same consistency to me but very different flavors as Ratahnia is mildly minty and Calendula is anise flavored. The calendula does slightly dissipate (dissolve) somewhat in your mouth like some have said but I don't find that to be the case so much with the ratahnia. None of them expand in volume when in mouth like the typical foaming pastes do but that is not a concern because foaming volume is not necessary for cleaning, it's just something one must become accustomed to and retrain their way of thinking about a toothpaste and cleaning of teeth. To help clear up a concern that some reviewers have mentioned, noticing the toothpaste diluting with water... Well, it does seem a little more water soluble therefore, I do not run it under water for a second before brushing as done with the typical pastes. So, no water... just put it on your brush and start brushing, smearing all over teeth quickly first to evenly distribute and then brush each tooth as normal. My opinion is no water needed or recommended as it will naturally dilute with the natural juices of your mouth (you know what I'm referring to????). It may seem that you need more paste after brushing for a bit though you really don't but use as much as you desire. I really like this Weleda Ratahnia toothpaste and will continually purchase it and use it in along with the other Weleda pastes while swapping out with other brands once in awhile as well in the years to come as I've done in the past. I recommend trying this product... it's only one tube of toothpaste ????????

Best Toothpaste Ever!
I have used this toothpaste for decades. The myrrh in the formula really leaves you with a clean healthy mouth. Seller shipped in a plastic bag, however, and all the boxes were crushed! I buy many months' supply at a time. Not one box survived the crushing!!

Mixed bag
I have no complaints against the toothpaste in general but I am unable to tell if it made any difference to my sensitive gums. At best I can say it didn't make it worse but I didn't see any noticeable difference in my gum health. I am still using it once a day but not holding any high hopes for a miracle

No dental issues after 30 years use
I've not used any other toothpaste other than Weleda's Ratanhia Toothpaste since 1984, when it used to be called Herbal Toothpaste, and have not visited a dentist since then until recently. On that first dental check-up in 30 years I was informed I had no cavities and that all teeth were in good order including two fillings received in 1982. Proper brushing and type of toothbrush might be a factor, I use a Radius toothbrush, as well as a good diet. However my personal opinion is that this particular product is a major factor in keeping my teeth clean and healthy despite it having less of the chemicals used in conventional dental products. The taste may not be to everyone's liking, but personally I much prefer it over the strong mint flavour of other toothpastes.

A toothpaste for owls
Having quite a sensitive mouth (I know, I sound like a horse...), I have to be very careful about which toothpastes I use - it took me years to discover that it was the additives in toothpaste which were causing me to suffer from painful mouth ulcers; can you believe that industrial-strength detergents and solvents are in some of them?!? Also, being definitely not a morning person, I don't want to brush my teeth first thing with anything very strong-tasting (and definitely not peppermint, which I heartily dislike even when overlaid lavishly with rum). This Calendula toothpaste fits the bill for me, completely. It's a smooth paste (not all the natural ones are, and lumps in toothpaste make me heave - sorry for the grim detail) and it has a light taste, very slightly aniseedy. I definitely don't have to take a deep breath before cleaning my teeth with this one, and the aftertaste is gently refreshing without blasting your tastebuds into submission. I've used this toothpaste since October 2013 and a) it's never caused me any irritation, and b) I can still face it first thing in the morning, both of which are definitely noteworthy in my toothpaste-using career. Of course a last important feature is that it cleans the teeth very well - but then most toothpastes do that, don't they? Very much recommended, particularly if you don't like the usual strong-flavoured and/or industrial-type toothpastes.

perfect for dry mouth sufferers
Subsequent to serious health problems and being a long term user of prescription drugs, I suffer with a terribly dry mouth. Normal tooth paste makes me feel as though my mouth is on fire. So, I was on the look out for a suitable tooth paste and tried this. It's an odd colour, a deep pink, that might put some off. It's also very smooth and true to other reviews, it doesn't foam. However, just as low foam laundry detergent cleans clothes, this stuff cleans your teeth. There was absolutely no burning sensation at all and it's not an unpleasant flavour. The temptation might be to use more but there really is no need. I know it's expensive but for me or anyone else that cannot stand the savage burning caused by 'normal' toothpaste, I'd say this is worth it.

Really great to discover a toothpaste that truly tastes fine
Really great to discover a toothpaste that truly tastes fine, protects well without toxic Sodium Fluoride, and equally important, Weleda toothpaste does NOT have the embarrassing SLS toilet cleaner effect within your mouth, which in the old days (with standard fluoride toothpastes) left my mouth foaming annoyingly for at least half an hour ... and this product is German, so I'm naturally inclined to believe that it must be wonderful.
