Nice faucet at a great price

Even though the instructions provided with the faucet weren't that helpful, with a quick call to Delta (was only on hold for 30 seconds), I got my questions answered and I was able to install the faucet relatively quickly. The only time-consuming part was making a shim to go between the hole in the granite countertop and the faucet's threaded through shaft. The hole was larger so the faucet would have been a loose fit without shimming it. I wish Delta had included shims in the kit. This has to be a common issue. I made mine out of a piece of brass. The Delta faucet has a nice feature for securing it beneath the countertop. Instead of a basic threaded nut, which had frozen on on my old faucet requiring hours of drilling and cutting to remove - this new Delta faucet has a nut with 2 screws on either side of it. You tighten the screws to lock the nut in place. Which means to remove it, you simply loosen the two screws. Genius. With the faucet in place, it looks nice and smoothly swings left and right. The plastic pull out handle is a little worrisome since it feels light and a bit flimsy. Also the sprayer hose is not metal but some kind of nylon. That's light, too so the overall feel of the sprayer is that it might break if you drop it or smack it into something by mistake - or the kids did. There are two buttons underneath the sprayer to change from wide spray to regular water stream. One of the buttons has two positions to make the regular water stream more or less powerful. It all works okay but it's a little complicated and we sometimes have to hit it a few times to get it to go into the mode we want. This faucet has a V pattern for selecting the water. The bottom of the V the faucet is off. As you move the handle away and to the left you get warmer and to the right, you get colder water. This makes it a little tricky to fine tune the water to the right hot temperatures. And, because the handle has to be exactly in the bottom of the V to turn it off we have a few times not quite got it in there and had the faucet still running water ever so slightly. So you have to pay attention to be sure to turn off the water. The family is divided on the style of the faucet. The end of the sprayer is oversize, much larger than the actual nozzle the water comes out of. That's what bothers some of us - it just seems too big and it blocks the view a little more than we're used to when looking down at the dishes... of course you can just swing it out of the way, too. Overall, this faucet works well, has a pleasing finish that's been easy to keep clean, was much easier to install than the old faucet was, and it came at a really fair price. Also, we've had lots of Delta faucets before and they've always held up and performed well. So, we think this new one is a keeper and are happy to have it. I hope this review is helpful.

No Braided Steel Lines?

Appearance wise, a nice looking unit. Initial functionality seems decent. Unfortunately, that is about all I can say on the plus side ( so far ). Installation is fairly straight forward, although I must note that the instructions were not applicable to this particular model. The two major issues in my eyes are, 1> No braided steel lines ( on a $200 unit? ). Rigid plastic lines ( far too long for my application ) were difficult to manage, and frankly, I question the amount of unnecessary tension being placed on feed lines. 2> The joint ( connecting point ) for the sprayer hose is way up near the under sink mounting... a modified design placing it 4 inches lower would make installation easier in deeper sink applications (small inconvenience but seems like something that would be obvious to a fixture designer).

A good detachable kitchen sink faucet but not the best

I kept looking at various detachable kitchen faucets and reading the reviews and I decided to settle on this one. The quality is good although some of the materials look cheap, like the tubes and the plastic sprayer. Installation was pretty straight forward, although the instructions leave a lot to be desired. If you're somewhat savvy, though, you can figure out the installation because there's very few things that can go wrong with installing these things. It also saves you about $150 in plumbers' fees or so. The only thing that's highly recommend is for you to test the water flow on the third tube before the final assembly--you do that underneath your kitchen sink on a bucket by turning on the water valves a little bit and pulling up the faucet handle. After that you just plug it in with the central pipe inside the faucet (by attempting to follow the instructions) and that's it. The installation does give you the option if your sink has three holes or just one. If it comes with three hole you use the elongated plate to cover the other two holes. If not, there's a cylindrical plate that attaches to the bottom of the stem for a nicer trim. Now, as to its performance--and hence the 4-star rating. I found that often times when you push down the lever the water is still running and that's because if the lever is not completely centered the water will not shot down completely, which a bit annoying. So, if you were using hot or cold water you'd need to center the handle/lever in order for the water to completely shut down. Also, the buttons underneath the detachable sprayer are bit cumbersome to operate but they're efficient. Pulling out the sprayer is easy and it extends sufficiently to reach well outside the sink to fill a bucket, for instance--but at some point the hose may kink. The sprayer also swivels back and forth so if you have a two-sided sink it will reach both sides just fine, which I find really convenient. My old faucet stopped doing that after accumulation a lot of hard water deposits (calcium and what not). The faucet shape and style is just okay. They tried to make it so stylish but... Price is a bit high given the low quality of the tubes and the fact that the sprayer is plastic, although it looks metallic. All in all, I've had this faucet for about a month or so and its performance has been fine. I keep checking for leaks under the sink but so far, so good. Time will only tell how this faucet performs for the years to come.

Just So So

I was disappointed to see so much plastic on a Delta faucet. It didn't take long for the swivel on the unit to start freezing in place (soft water environment BTW)- might just be a flaw on faucets of this design. Delta customer service just wants to throw o rings at the problem. Its relatively easy to pull the handle off and unscrew the valve body etc. and grease it up. I suspect this will be a regular maintenance job on this faucet every 6 months or so till the body ultimately corrodes out. I suggested to Delta they send me "a bunch" of o rings and save themselves some postage ;)

I purchased this Delta Linden kitchen faucet a few months ago and finally had it installed. The positives: It swivels very easily, it is easy to switch between stream and spray, and the sprayer works perfectly. The negative: It is very difficult to adjust the water temperature. Hot and cold are the norm, but anything in between is difficult to set. This is annoying when washing items by hand. Slight change to above review: I just discovered that if the faucet handle is lifted to it's maximum height, it is easier to adjust the water temperature. It shouldn't be necessary, however, to always have to use maximum pressure.

I purchased this through Amazon because it wasn't in stock locally and Amazon delivered it in less then 5 days with free shipping. I like this faucet because it works for left and right handed people and we have both in our house. The handle has lots of throw and moves easily and gently for accurate flow and temperature. An extra 3 or 4 inches in height on the spout allows for mobility above a sink full of dishes. The spout pulls out 3 feet and fits into the main fixture with a one inch notched connection that fits solid and with the weighted threaded hose pulls the connection tight. Usually you pull out the spout about a foot and a half and hit the spray button to wash excess down the drain. Once you master the spray buttons with one hand and the temperature flow control with the other hand you realize how less muscle power it takes and how much water you're saving. The only thing to remember with this faucet is to be careful when pulling out the spout, if you have the water flowing before you pull it out you could miss the sink and hit the window, counter or floor.
