Shower Grab Bar

Had to get grab bars for my shower. Really liked the looks of these, more modern and decorative than the typical grab bars you usually see. I’m very happy with my purchase.

This bar is not handicap compatible

I purchased this bar for my remodeled stool shower. Unfortunately once the bathroom was completed I discovered it's not safe for someone handicapped. Once it's wet and gets any soap on it it's slippery and you really can't hold on to it. Pretty to look at but not safe.

You can go wrong with the safety handle

I purchase four of those handles in 4 years. For different houses and bathrooms . Very good looking and no signs of any rast or discoloration after being used for a few years

Parts of this have a different color chrome finish.

The buyer should be aware that parts of these grab bars have a different color chrome finish. The part that attaches to the wall is silver chrome, and the bar in-between (where you would grab onto) is a yellowish chrome finish. Therefore the end sections will match your other silver chrome Delta bathroom fixtures, but the actual bar sections won't quite match. Interestingly, if you have chrome Delta towel hangers, you will see that the same thing is true for those too. The part of the towel hanger that attaches to the wall is a light silver chrome color, and the actual bar where you hang your towel is a yellowish chrome color. I don't know why Delta makes the bar parts a different color. The difference is slight, but noticeable. I think the grab bars still look good enough because at least part of the grab bars matches our Delta shower head and shower handles, sink faucets etc., so they all still look pretty good together, but I wish the bar part of the grab bar was also the same silver chrome color as everything else. Other than this slight color problem, these grab bars are good quality and very sturdy! Also, the design style of these grab bars goes well with the Delta "Ashlyn" Collection of fixtures in our bathroom.

Defines "Grab"

Quite a hunk of functional and aesthetically beautiful shiny metal, in an industrial kind of way. Strikes me as sort of minimalist art deco. Very easy to install. Make sure to have an adequately powered drill ( driver ) to seat 2 and 1/2" screws into studs. My wife is quite impressed with my choice for a needed grab bar for her. SW

Greater safety!

After guests who had various mobility problems visited, we decided to add these grab bars to our tub/showers. We have Delta bronze fixtures with square design and this blended in. My husband installed them on the wall vertically beside the the shower wall to allow a hand-hold as the bather stepped into and out of the tub. He secured the bar to a stud and it is VERY secure. The diameter of the bar and the design take away that "hospital" look. We are very pleased with this product. We chose to go with Delta because we had a problem with a finish on one of our fixtures a few years ago and Delta replaced it at no charge - with great customer service.

Disappointed in Delta

I read every review and agonize over each purchase decision, so I'll provide the info I'd want to know myself. I was looking for modern non-hospital-looking grab bars for my bathroom remodel. I ordered two different styles and sizes of chrome Delta grab bars: #41924 square/angular and #41824 round, 12" and 18" for each style (see photos). All 4 were extremely heavy and substantial. Not flimsy or wobbly. They seemed gigantic for being the smaller size grab bars. (I included a Sharpie pen for size comparison.) I prefer the square "escutcheons" to the round...more modern and the angular rod seemed much narrower vs. the beefy round style, but they're listed the same size. I'm returning all 4 because each had a problem. The round had faint unshiny stripe marks in parts of the finish. The angular was really bad because in both bars the chrome finish didn't match (rods vs. ends) and the seam between them was really noticeable. At least on the round one, the seam was close to the edge, so it was less noticeable. The center rod looked almost stainless vs. the beautiful chrome ends. Overall the round bar had a better finish, but still nowhere near as gorgeous as my other Delta hardware ("Ara"). All 4 items were purchased separately from AMZ and had return-worthy finish issues, so I'm still stuck. In case you're researching, my other selections: Moen 8" rainshower head, Purelux flanges, Kohler flip fixed shower head, Danze 30" Versa handshower bar set, Delta Ara 6 setting trim + rough-in, Ara tub faucet and Ara vanity faucets, Kohler medicine cabinets, Kieschler lights. It's exhausting! Good luck.

Bathroom handgrip

I only have one of three up now, as I'm mounting these on a porcelain bathtub surround. The challenge is drilling holes in the porcelain tiles, six holes required, and takes about 20 minuets per hole to drill. That said, one is up and the handle look great! The carbide bit quickly becomes dull, so I'm using a 1/4" hollow diamond bit that works okay, albeit slowly! Have water close by to cool and lubricate the drill, and slow RPM with the drill! Some of the YouTube videos have been helpful.
