Great machine at sale price
Have been brewing espresso from the Arte for a few months now. Very impressed with the overall package, but some minor disappointment as well. First off, this comes with a non-pressurized brew basket which is great! The included tamper and mat are also really nice inclusions. I ended up buying a bottomless portafilter to see how my shots were being pulled and the entire setup still works with the new filter. Second the grinder has been great so far, even with the new portafilter. I've been grinding on 4--meaning there still is room to grind finer if I need it. Big downside is the non-removable hopper. But it's recommended to only put in the amount you need anyway. Steam wand had me less than impressed at first since I'm used to commercial steam wands. However it has grown on me and it will finish steaming in about 10-15 seconds. I recommend looking up proper steaming technique for people just starting out. You don't want to plunge the wand in all the way right when you start and only want to steam until the pitcher is too hot to grasp. All in all, it's a great machine. No plastic taste from any of my shots. Non-pressurized baskets. PID to help control the temperature of the water. Steam wand performs well. Customizable shot times. Grinder that performs well. It's a complete package. Two downsides: Plastic and lots of it. At MSRP I hesitate to say it's worth it for the amount of plastic you receive. It looks nice. But once you start using and feeling it, I would be disappointed. On sale, it's such a great buy for all the features you receive. Second, why the dark grey plastic for the water tank? It's impossible to see the water level. Yes it has an indicator to warn you before you run out of water but it'sa simple design choice that could have made a huge difference.

The steam wand is close to pro equipment. Hopper doesn't come out.
This is the only at-home espresso machine I have seen that has a steam wand that will actually allow for the whirlpooling of milk properly. Too bad the hopper doesn't come out if you wanna change beans, but it's solid and sturdy (not "plastic-y). Auto-Americano mode is cool. Everything about this machine screams quality and excellent design (over the competition). You can adjust dose exactly how you want it. GET IT. And, for a household of 2, the water tank didn't run out annoyingly often for just making espresso and steaming milk, but of course it would for Americanos.

A Fun espresso machine
All things considered, this was probably my best online purchase. The only problem I had was the packing. The machine was not packed well and arrived with all accessory items loose and had scratched the machine. The machine was dirty and I had to clean it and descale it before using. It did run well and makes perfect espresso. I still have some work to do on my steamed milk art. I recommend this machine to anyone wanting a home espresso machine

Wrong dimensions
To be honest, I have not even yet tried my machine. This is my second machine purchase because I was not happy with the quality of the first one from a different manufacture. The dimensions are wrong. I have a very shallow coffee bar that I wanted to put it on and it lists the depth and the width reversed. So frustrating. (I checked the silver version and they are correct.) I don’t want to attempt another return and a third try so it hangs over my counter.

I was a Barista for 12 Years, and this Machine...
For the price, this machine is AWESOME!!!! It is super easy to use (after the initial setup and tutorials), and so far it's even easier to maintain. My only criticism would be that because it is such a light and compact machine, locking the portafilter can be kind of awkward, and I'm afraid that something will break over time. That aside, it has been an absolute delight to own! *Beware, shot glasses not included.*

Best cost benefit machine
I did a lot of research before buying this machine… after checking out different brands and models I made up my mind for this one. I don’t regret at all, it does what a +1K machine promises and my espressos are simply great for the third of the price. Planning to buy an espresso machine and don’t have a grinder? Buy this one!

Love it!
I love the quick and ease of making my favorite coffee every morning!! I don’t like the descaling process I don’t know how I lived without it!❤️

If you want a regular cup of coffee, then this is a drawback.
The tray on bottom fills up with water pretty fast. Don't know why really, but from what we were told it is normal function. So, check it regularly. We bought this mainly to make the Americano, which is great! Don't do espresso shots, but we do make an espresso martini, which works out perfect. Let it cool first, of course! This is a new dimension in coffee! So far, so good!

Easy to use, great for beginner
I’ve been using this espresso maker for about a month now and it’s great. It’s easy to use, simple design, steam wand is fantastic. I guess the cons would be that the bean hopper is attached so not easy to clean, hard to know which setting to use (the dossing and grinding- however it still makes great espresso, just takes some trial and error to find your perfect setting) and the pitcher is very small- if you are going to making larger sized lattes you will need a larger one. Pretty minor cons in my opinion and I would definitely recommend this

Great machine!
This DeLonghi EC9155M La Specialista Arte Pump Espresso Machine is a beautiful looking machine. Most of the exterior housing is plastic with a realistic metal look. The 2 top drip trays, water spout and the steamer wand are metal. The machine roughly measures 11" wide, 14" deep and 16" high, this gives a 1 and 3/4 inch clearance to the bottom of my cupboards. I can access the bean hopper at the top front. I read all the directions and watched 2 online product videos before I started as this is my first high end machine. I completed my first use steps and cycle. My only issue was how to remove the 2 shot filter from the portafilter (it came inserted). I found nothing in the directions. I did a question search on the DeLonghi site, it said to flip over the single shot basket and use the edge to pop it out from either groove side of the portafilter. I'm going to use the tip of a bread knife instead. The back water tank holds about 1.6 litres of water. I love the grinder, especially the dosing funnel. I used pre weighed 16 grams of whole beans (only whole beans can be put in the grinder) for a 2 shot drink (all my drinks will be 2 shot)! The machine stops automatically and the dosing funnel keeps things less messy. Note: the grinder can't be cleaned, only the lid can be washed. The hefty tamper works well however the size is a bit smaller than the portafilter, it would be nice if it was more accurately sized. This gave me my "perfect" dose. Don't overfill or over tamp. The big pressure gauge lets you know if your dosing was done properly. The dial will show if you're in the "optimum zone" while the shot is made. It has no other purpose that I'm aware of. Americano drink:. Your cup must be 4 " or less to fit under both the water spout and the portafilter. It's a true Americano, automatically adding the water after the espresso is made. It makes a very nice approximately 10 oz drink with a lovely brown crema. Espresso:. I used the small lift tray ( it pops into 2 holes on the big tray) for my 8 oz cappuccino cup as I was going to make a cappuccino. The espresso had a nice brown top crema layer. Steamer: This is an issue for me but practice really helps. When you purge the water from the steamer wand, I let it run for a bit. Turn OFF the steamer wand to place it in the steamer cup and restart. Follow the instructions or watch a video or 2, this does help. After 4 attempts I made an almost perfect foam! Wipe the wand immediately after using. Clean up of the 3 level trays is time consuming but worth it for the great drinks. Note: The red tray tab will pop up if the drip tray needs to be emptied. There is a storage compartment in the top right area where I put the tamper pad, brush and needle tool. I love the new machine. It's actually fairly quiet too. Currently priced at $911.11.

Great machine
Love this machine! There's some trial and error to get all the settings the way you want them, but once they are set this machine makes quality espresso.

A little café at home
Comes beautifully packaged and would be surprised if it doesn't come in one piece. Unboxing this was like an experience to itself and it helps to highlight the quality and build of the overall machine. Setup was quick after washing all the little bits of the machine. Once the huge reservoir of water in the back of the machine is filled up and the bean hopper is filled up, we were off to the races. Tuning the dosing and grind level is going to be a lot of fun, but overall operation is quite straight forward, though reading of the manual will make things a lot more obvious. Love the single or double-shot option and the little storage tray to keep everything put away as well. Did a few americano shots at first and very much surprised at how it turned out, much smoother and less harsh than what I was originally expecting in comparison to the corner coffeeshop. The milk frothier is a fun addition that will take quite some time to master, but does work quite well. Will see how long it takes me to master making some latte art. Love that the machine can also make hot water on demand which is perfect for making hot chocolate or teas of your choice. In terms of cons, there are only a few nit picks for me. The biggest one would be the amount of forward pressure needed to activate the automatic grinder makes it a two handed operation, wish that mechanism was a little less effort. I wish the storage nook was a bit larger so that all pieces could be put away. One unforeseen "issue" is that the clearance below the extractor and the hot water spout is quite low meaning that unless you have short cups, may cause issues in placement. Also worth noting that the expresso shot cups shown in the listing do not come with the unit; but a nice milk frothing container does. Overall, I am very impressed at how easy this unit is to operate for a complete beginner and the number of customization options make for endless tinkering. Having used Nespresso machines in the past, this is quite the departure, but also combines multiple machines together (grinder, coffee maker, and milk steamer) without the hassle of dealing with pods that need to be handled differently. While definitely a premium machine, the quality of the tools included, build of the machine, and ease of operation make it worth it. Would highly recommend for the coffee aficionados looking to jump into picking up a new skill as it adds a different experience to a daily routine.

A good entry level machine
Pros: Overall, the build quality is good and it has a nice look. It doesn't take up too much space on a table. It's easy to use, and the hop attachment on the portafilter really helps with puck preparation. Some brewing adjustments are available through hidden settings (read the manual!). Cons: The grinding is not very uniform, which is probably due to the conical burr used. It's not too bad, though. The amount of ground coffee varies with the same setting, as it is based on time rather than weight. The grinder can be messy sometimes as grinded coffee is flying out around the machine. There is no water flow adjustment, so it always passes the same amount of water regardless of your coffee weight. Overall: It's a good starting point if you want a little bit more control over your coffee brew. One can adapt and tweak the machine to their liking to a certain point. However, don't expect full control here, it is a basic mass consumer model.
