Don’t waste your money
This product seemed like a good idea at the time of purchase. It’s made of good rubber, it remains fairly pliable even in cold weather and was pretty easy to install. However, if and when you actually use your winch and winch hook, it becomes a nuisance. It’s running up and down the winch line and can be in the way. Not that this really matters, but it looks ridiculous when you’re actually using your winch. The final straw for me was after it got stuck on the hook from being pulled over a log (for the second time). I literally had to cut it off with a hack saw the second time. In retrospect, IF (for some god forsaken reason) I were to purchase this product again, I would take a sawzall or hack saw and cut a slit where the rope goes through so it can easily be removed from the line when the winch is in use. If you use your winch once a year, tops, and you want a way to store your winch hook neatly, probably a great product for you. If you’re an idiot like me and use your winch A LOT, do yourself a favor and get a yankum rope fairlead with the little loop hook thingy. Much, much better.

Great budget mod
Only thing that could be better, that I realize is due to being a universal part, is it is not right on my side rollers, but I did reduce the noise from my old hook method significantly, very clean looking, happy with my purchase

Does not fit factory fairlead for Engo E9000
Got tired of rattling noises of the hook on my Engo E9000 9K lb winch. Ordered this up as the solution, and sure enough, the block is easily 1/4" too wide. My fairlead is pretty funky after years of use so most likely going to replace it anyway, but wanted it to work in the mean time... Also concerned about it working with the roller clip license plate brackets since I am in Texas which is a front plate state...

Fits new smittybilt X20 winches, not older XRC
I can say without a doubt this fits the fairlead that came with my smittybilt x20 10k winch perfectly. It is too wide for my previous generation smittybilt XRC 9.5k winch on my car hauler. Daystar makes a different isolator for those just simply marked as their “smittybilt” isolator. Before, I was drawing in my hook up to the fairlead VERY carefully, but having this isolator in place makes it easier and less likely for me to damage the fairlead. You will still need to be VERY carefully of the ferrule that crimps the line as it goes through the rollers. I do like having that dead weight in the middle of the line, but I also have a Warn dampener as well that I suspend on the line. And for the record this is URETHANE, not plastic as written in some of the one star reviews.

Easy to install, inexpensive, and tidy. Works with Warn synthetic & hawse fairlead too.
This rubber pad makes a nice holder for the winch hook, and keeps it from dangling or clanging around the bumper of the car. I like it better than clipping to the bumper, since it's not chipping up paint or banging around over bumps. The Warn winch hook comes off with just a cotter pin, and slides through the opening in this, so you don't have to remove your whole winch line. While the photo shows a roller fairlead, the Isolator also has a bit of a 'tongue' in back, so it pinches into a hawse fairlead just as well. If you loop the hook pull strap through the hole and pinch it up against the fairlead, it holds the hook in place nicely. When the line is spooled out, this Isolator hangs from it as a bit of dead weight, which is not a bad thing. There are some really nice winch-hook-holder kits out there, but for the money, this is an easy one to install and afford.

Simple but effective
A simple and effective way to keep your Winch Isolated tightly in the fairlead without jamming the hook into the rollers or hooking it to a recover point. It also has the added advantage of stopping most of the road dirt getting into the drum. Easy to fit and made of a robust material. Also, if anyone was wondering how you use it when winching - It simply pulls out when spooling out your rope, and I leave it hanging about midway and hang my damper over it.

This thing is great! I almost didn't buy it because of the price. I think $25 is still too much for a piece of plastic. But it is easy to use. I closes up the winch real nice and keeps the hook snug while not in use. I found it is also a nice tool to ease pulling out the unclutched cable. I leave the hook in it, pull it under my arm and then let the plastic rest against my chest/arm and walk away pulling the cable with me. It also works well as a cable "damper" while engaged in pulling. Fits my Quadratec Q9500i.
