Slipped in quality from earlier models -- EDIT!! PROBLEM SOLVED
Okay, I have to revise the review below, big time, and increase the number of stars to five. My complaint about this faucet set was that when I would turn it off, it would continue to dribble water for several seconds after the handle was fully set back into the "off" position. Because of our hard water, I like to wipe a faucet's nozzle dry each time I use it, by way of fending off the typical deposits of white crud that build up over time, so this little delay was a minor nuisance. But... Today the Cleaning Lady from Heaven showed up. After she did her usual amazing job and went on her way, I wandered into the kitchen to feed the dog, which requires splashing a squirt of tap water over the food. And POINK! When I shut off the water, the water actually TURNED OFF! At first I thought this was a fluke of some sort. But no: suddenly it operates exactly as a faucet is supposed to operate! Consistently, over and over again. No idea what she did to fix it -- she didn't say a word. My guess is, though, that what happened was she left the water flowing for around 10 minutes or so. I turn it off the instant I have enough water to serve the purpose at hand. She probably just let it run while she scrubbed sinks, counters, and everything else she could reach. So: If you have this problem -- the water doesn't shut completely OFF when you turn the faucet off -- try letting the water flow extravagantly for a good long time. With this little glitch resolved, the faucet is beautiful, perfect, and extremely nifty. I hope it works as long as the last one did...which was about 16 years. :-) ******* Original comments ****** When I moved into my present home, I purchased and installed a faucet that looked exactly like this one. Sixteen years later now...and that original faucet broke. I loved the faucet set and felt that 16 years was great longevity for a modern device, given the planned obsolescence that's built into almost everything we buy these days. So I bought another one. I suspect maybe I should have saved my money, because... 1. When you turn it on, water just barely flows out. The other one also delivered a flow that was, shall we say, "gentle," presumably because of the inane laws requiring manufacturers to build faucets and shower heads that don't deliver water. But this is ridiculous!! This thing will take half your lifetime to fill a spaghetti pot, and if you need to fill a bucket to mop the kitchen floor, forget it! Hard to believe a water fixture could deliver even less water than the previous one did, but there it is... 2. When you turn it off, the water keeps flowing until it eventually dribbles to a stop. Shut the valve, and it takes FOUR TO FIVE SECONDS before the flow stops. That is just weird! How on earth is THAT environmentally correct? 3. See that little blue and red logo visible in the image? That existed on the original fixture, which at the outset made me imagine it's a Price-Pfister fixture (their logo is a blue & red circle), but no amount of searching P/P web pages elicited a design like this one. The one that was delivered from Danze is indeed identical in appearance to the original one (though not in function -- the old one did not continue to flow after it was turned off). But that little logo is now a black spot. This makes me wonder if the thing is a knock-off. As for ease of installation: I don't know. I hired a plumber to put it in. He didn't complain, but it took him an hour or so to get it in place. Value for the money? Well...frankly. I haven't seen any recent-model faucet or showerhead that is worth much money -- they're all junk. The low flow and the five-second post-shutoff dribble suggest the same is true of this thing.

Well made, easy to install, good value.
This faucet was easier than most to install, the valve and spout assemblies have full length threaded shanks that are installed with a rubber washer and a hand tighten nut with two lock screws that can be tightened with a nut driver or Philips screwdriver from below. The hose that connects the valve and spout assemblies is a snap on connection. That hose however is rather short and may not reach to either end a four hole set up if you try to put the sprayer and soap dispenser in-between. The sprayer hose attaches to the bottom of the spout assembly with a threaded connection. As mentioned in other reviews there is about a one second delay between shutting off the valve and the water emptying from the spout. I suspect this is a characteristic of the high rise spout design, and is caused by the water between the aerator and the top of the spout draining form the front half of spout. I do not see this as a flaw and an issue of any concern, the valve does not leak ! As with all newer faucets, the flow rate is much lower than most older faucets you my be accustom to. The valve action is very smooth and positive, the water stream is well aerated The spout has a slight forward angle to it so the water stream does not hit the sink directly below the aerator but rather a bit forward of that, making it less likely to splash. The spryer has a higher flow rate than the spout, and does a very good job of rinsing and will fill a pot a bit quicker than the spout does. This faucet appears to be very well made and well engineered. Most parts are brass and stainless steel with braiding reinforced hoses and copper tubing. The stainless steel finish seems durable, is attractive, and easy to clean. The soap dispenser is a top fill design and works well. Over all we are very pleased the Melrose High Rise Faucet and would buy it again. Lowe's sell exactly the same unit for about $100.00 more than what I paid on Amazon, so shop around for the best price. DonS. 03/29/21 UPDATE: Dropping star rating from 4 to 2 due to leak at spout caused by an assembly error. Less than a month after installing this brand new facet it developed a significant leak above the sink at the spout assembly. The connection between the spout itself and the spout body assembly loosened and started to leak, due to a quality control problem during the manufacturing and assembly process. The connection between the spout and the spout body assembly was not properly torqued during assembly. I had to turn off the water, disconnect and remove the spout assembly, partially dis-assemble it, lubricate the O-rings, re-assemble and properly tighten the offending connection, then re-install the facet assembly, and put everything back together. No new parts needed. It was a job I was capable of doing myself and I had the necessary tools. So I did not incur the the cost of a plumber, which I highly doubt I would have been reimbursed for. Customer service hold time was about a half hour and was not very helpful or even empathetic to the problem, she was however polite. Customer service's solution to my problem was to send me an e-mail with a copy of the spout assembly diagram and tell me if I needed a new diverted valve I could submit a parts order. If I was unable to repair it I could then submit a claim for review and possible replacement if approved. Her system also could not pull up my 03/28/21 online warranty registration with my phone number alone. In this age of torque controlled assembly tools I would rate their assembly process POOR and their customer service less than adequate. Would I buy a Gerber Danze product again, NO, not at this point. DonS. 04/20/21

Looks and works perfectly for our kitchen but requires careful installation.
I really like the look and function of this faucet set and ours is working perfectly. However, there are several connections that rely on rubber washers and o-ring seals and I think that's why some people report leaks when the tap or sprayer is running. My recommendation is add a little vaseline to the o-rings and slide surfaces before installation so nothing gets bound up or twisted in assembly, and don't over tighten anything. Just let the o-rings and rubber seals do their job and I think it will work out great. The other complaint is the second or so of water over-run when you turn the tap off. This is due to the slight pressure built up in the plastic spray hose, even when it's not being used. So - here's an idea - try turning the tap off a second earlier. The actual tap valve shuts off fine. One star off for value because it is a bit pricey but it does have all the features we needed.

Very Sturdy Materials, Stainless Steel
Almost immediately since installation (but not before the plumber left), the water continues to flow from the faucet for several seconds after it is shut off by the handle. Not sure how much water is wasted by this defect. I sent an e-mail to Danze customer service. I received a reply that it might need a new cartridge. I just replied back with my address and date of purchase (1/30/19). Perhaps I will be mailed a new cartridge. I saw one other review with this same feedback. I guess I'm just lucky (bad?). The question is "Why does a brand new faucet need a cartridge, already? I'm not sure if I will need to have the plumber return to fix the cartridge. Additional expense?
