DANIEL SMITH, Inchiostro di noce da 2 once, 284270001

Brand:DANIEL SMITH

3.6/5

36.63

Fatto a mano negli Stati Uniti. Non acido. Funziona bene con pennello e penna. Resistente alla luce e può essere nuovamente bagnato. Colore noce naturale poiché è realizzato con mallo di noce.

DANIEL SMITH, 2oz Jar Walnut Ink
Ink doesnt get better than Daniel Smith's! Hands down my favorite for sketching, calligraphy, journaling and just writing a letter to someone special.

INK EVERYWHERE
I haven’t even gotten to use it and so much of the ink spilled inside the bag. I pull it out not realizing and ink gets all over me but I thought, hey the cap is tight maybe it’s fine if I just go wash it. I wash the jar of ink after tightly closing it dry it off with a paper towel but the moment I pick it up to move it the ink starts dripping from the cap again there’s literally no seal on the cap at all.

Very Beautiful, Midrange Brown, Ink Spills Easily from Bottle
I used this ink in a cheap notebook with very thin, gritty paper, as well as on a flashcard. In both instances, I was able to achieve very thin hairlines with minimal feathering on the downstrokes. The ink bottle is very wide and allows plenty of space to dip multiple pens at once. With just one dip, I was able to write several letters or a pair of short words, while achieving the ombre-effect of the brown's hue. On creme-coloured paper, the ink looks dark brown, but on white paper, the ink is midrange with dark brown and tan on a few places. Regardless of the paper, it is easy to tell that the ink is brown when compared to the black India ink on the photo (I used a Nikko G nib in both samples). I am very pleased with this ink, as it also writes very smoothly. My only complaint is that the ink spills from the bottle quite easily, even when tightly closed, so I would reccomend using a dinky dip.

Lovely color
Apparently it is not a true 'walnut' ink and uses dye pigments, but does the job pretty similar to one and is supposed to be friendlier for nibs. I love the brown hue it has. I use it with a dip pen and pointed pen nibs. For my Hunt 101 nib, I had to leave the jar open to let the water evaporate for a good 2 days to get it to the right consistency. It's available for lower cost on calligraphy supplies stores like PaperInkArts and JohnNealBookSeller, but having it delivered in 1 day on Prime is unbeatable.

Love this ink!
I'd say the only difficulty is that the ink really isn't waterfast being walnut ink. So layering it is possible, but be careful. It is my new favorite addition. It's got this warmth to it and makes excellent monotone images. I also like to use it for watercolors that have a "pop of color". So mostly walnut ink with a bit of other paint. If you're looking for an ink with a nostalgic feel this is a good choice.

Both my go-to practice ink and nice enough for formal work
This was one of the very first inks I bought when I started learning dip pen calligraphy. Considering the high quality, the perfect viscosity and flow, and the ease of cleaning it off my nibs, it's a fantastic price, which makes it my favorite practice ink. I never have to thin it; just open the container, dip, and write. It results in writing with such wonderful character, and I think yields a fun vintage feel to the finished product. I highly recommend this brand of walnut ink and also recommend it as a good choice for beginners to learn.

Excellent for my needs.
I like the fact that it is a delicate colour and flows well off a brush. I use it with my water colour paints.
