Real nice out of the box
I got these for a pair of work boots. Composite toe is nice, tread is great and the fit was perfect right out of the box. Been wearing them for a couple weeks now and they definitely get the job done. I can feel the fabric that has peeled from the inserts when I walk and the fabric around the heel cup might be coming loose. Not waterproof like advertised but all and all it's a good boot, just a little expensive for needing care after only a couple week of occasional light yard work. I will get some new inserts and snow seal them to waterproof which is going to mess up the soft, suede look and feel of the leather but I require waterproof boots when I'm out in the woods and field in the morning.

Well made, quality boot. Buy your normal shoe/boot size.
These are great boots. Well made, heavy leather, thick sole and look/feel durable. The only reason I retuned these boots is that the sizing seems to be off by just a little. Other reviewers had said that this boot can tend to run large so I opted for 1/2 a size down to a 9.5, I normally wear a 10. The 9.5 was just too snug in the toe box and arch areas (I have normal width feet). I do have another pair of Dan Post Wellington (John Deere) boots and the 9.5 fits perfectly. My recommendation, buy your normal boot size. Other then sizing, the only other thing I would point out is that the traction pattern on the sole of the boot may not be adequate for slippery conditions (mud, snow, etc.). I had hoped that the sole pattern would have had more depth or lug to it but that's personal preference as I was going to use these boots in snow/wet conditions.

Excellent boots
Over the last 6 months or so I have been trying to find a boot that fits correctly to no avail until I tried this particular boot. I have Diabetes and leg and back issues and a good shoe or boot is a must and no brainer and with that these are just what the Dr. ordered (not literally but you get the point). These boots have a wider opening than 99% of the boots on the market and provide excellent support that actually help me with my underlying conditions. I do have to mention though that with my back issues, I do have to use boot hooks to put them on and a boot remover to take them off but that is only because of my legs and back issues and not being able to bend far enough to do so with out those things. This review is for the distressed brown but in the near future I will also be ordering the Black. Hope this information helps.

not “composite toe” boots
They may have been a great boot, but the description said composite toe and that is a must for the job, however these were not! Had to return!

Good solid pair of work boots
Great boots. I always buy boots a size or half-size larger than I wear in sneakers, and found that these boots in an 11.5 wide fit great (I wear a 10.5-11 wide in tennis shoes). Your results may vary based on foot shape, so never hurts to still try them on in the store first to make sure the fit is right and then order them after. I got these for like $50 cheaper than they were priced in the store. So a great deal online as well. They were not the most comfortable at first (I wear them all day at work on my feet), but after breaking them in and adding some memory foam insoles I have absolutely no complaints. Seem to be holding up really well. They are a nice thick leather contruction. Hopefully I'll get a couple years of regular use out of them.

3rd Pair I Bought Has Quality Issues
I have purchased 3 pair of these boots. The first two pair were great and I still have the 2nd pair and have had no issues with them. The latest pair I bought have issues with the right boot. The insulated part of the boot has become loose and comes out when I pull the boot off. It is difficult to remove the boot and even more difficult to push it back into place. It is unfortunate as they look like brand new. I thought I found a great boot which is why I bought 3 pair but now I’m not so sure.

Both boots not the same size
My husband has been wearing Dan Post Boots forever. We ordered these (a different style than his normal) and one boot fit fine and the other boot was a little tight at the ankle section. He works away from home and he just got home and was able to wear these boots and break them in. He put them on and worked around the house for about 4 hours and when he came in he was able to get the boot off that fit well and the other boot we worked for over 15 minutes to get it off! The sock liner was not attached to the boot itself and when he tried to get his foot out the liner came out with his foot and when the liner got to the glued in part, his foot got stuck! When he finally got it out, the toe of the boot was curled to the ankle section of the boot! Since he just got time to try the boots, now they 6 days past the return time. Now we have a pair of boots he can't wear and we can't return them!! Very unhappy with these boots!!!
