3yr Review (Emergency Set Kept in Vehicle's Glove Compartment)
In 3 months (May 2023), I will have had these for 3 years. I purchased these because they were the same that one of the automotive techs used at the auto shop where I've taken my cars in for maintenance for over a decade. I trust their work, recommendations, and tools. Buying to keep in the car in case of a vehicular emergency was a no-brainer. I mostly purchased in case I needed to fix a flat or poke around engine and limit how dirty my hands got. I've used these once for changing a tire. In order to get used to them, however, I will routinely (every 2-3 months) use them with power tools or when I need to do any type of manual work. Helps break in, and me get used to them, hoping to improve dexterity when I need to use them in an emergency. - I'm able to use phones and tablets, write with various types of pens ---- uncap and cap with ease - I can deploy tools from my Gerber and Leatherman multitools ---- but not ones like Victorinox that rely heavily on thumb catches - Allows for easy use of regular sized tools (hammers, screwdrivers, electric drills, etc) - Great for carrying boards and for digging in garden - It's easy to hold screws and nails in place for hammering ---- but difficult to pick them out from a box that's full of them They've worked great for this task. They look as they did when I first got them (reminder: they don't get daily or weekly use). They do wash very easily (I hand dry them). At the rate I use them, these will easily last me another decade. I can't speak to durability under heavy, everyday use because that's not my use case. But, if my mechanics use them, I'd say they are good enough for most daily uses. They DEFINITELY work great for carrying in car's glove compartments and using for emergencies and basic automotive work, like changing a tire, jump starting a car, refilling oil or coolant levels, etc.

best budget gloves a cabinetmaker could ask for
these gloves are about the best i can find for what i want. im a cabinet maker, so i deal with a lot of wood and both hand/power tools. i wanted something that would give me feel and sensitivity without sacrificing protection against splinters or the odd slip of a sander, etc. the knuckle protection is just padded enough to avoid injury from a piece of medium sized hardwood falling on my hand, or dropping a hammer from less than a foot away. the extra padding around the webbing between thumb and forefinger is great at keeping splinters away from my hands. ive only had one splinter go through the glove, and that was because a full 3/4 plywood sheet slid through my hands. it poked through one layer and was trying to poke through the second, but i barely got a prick. without the gloves im sure i wouldve had a toothpick embedded in my hand. the gel padding on the palm is excellent at damping vibration from orbital sanders and nail guns, and makes using them all day easy as can be, while still maintaining a good level of grip on objects and not sacrificing any dexterity in the fingers. i cant pick up screws with the fingertips, but that can easily be solved by cutting one or two fingertips off. since the main material is synthetic leather i can do so without much fraying. the fabric on the back is durable, and is plastic based so i can melt the frayed fingertips as well. ive only had to buy 2 pairs in a year, they last me about 6 months of pure abuse till they give out. my first pair, the middle finger seam split. they were absolutely caked in wood glue, paint, clear coat, sawdust, and god knows what else to the point where i couldnt hold onto anything because the gloves had a full layer of smooth hardened adhesives attached. they never once cracked or became stiff, always stayed supple and flexible. they finally gave out on that middle finger after chopping, splitting, and stacking 3 cords of wood in a day. these gloves arent made for that purpose, but its what i had with me so i used them. all in all, they held up much better than i expected and i will likely continue to buy these gloves until i find a worthy replacement or stop needing to wear gloves.

Lasted all of one day.
One day. These lasted ONE day of landscaping, shovelling, moving a wheelbarrow, and moving paver stones. I mean, I wasn't expecting a lot, but I usually get more than a day before they start to fall apart. So here's the issues: 1) the size is asian, I have "not huge" hands that are usually roomy in a medium work glove, and these fit skin tight. 2) the grip is smooth, so things tend to slip right out of your hands, which is sort of silly, it's easier to hold onto a wheelbarrow with your bare hands than with work gloves... 3) reinforcement is in weird spots. It's like the person that designed these never did a day's work (which is likely true). Big regrets, I ordered 2 pair knowing they wouldn't last, but I really didn't think they were basically one-job disposable. Wow.
