Fits fullsize flagship Samsung smartphones.
As usual Maxpedition does not disappoint. If you are looking for a well-made, earth-toned, MOLLE/PALS-compatible smartphone pouch that will fit a modern (circa 2023) smartphone a la Samsung Ultra/iPhone with ≥6.4" screen, and affects tacticool vibe to boot, this is the pouch for you. Made in Vietnam, not China, affordable, great texture, finish, color, etc. Note: this pouch is also designed to be worn on a traditional belt but it is very large and might be cumbersome to wear in that way. This reviewer recommends the TC-2 for use on packs, LBVs, chest rigs, etc.

Perfect for iPhone 8+ and possibly others.
First off, for those who are unfamiliar with Maxpedition, they make ridiculously overbuilt products, out of fantastic materials, good enough for law enforcement or the armed services... or just those of us who like things overbuilt. While I own many other Maxpedition products, I needed the TC-2 pouch to use on bike rides, something I could run a belt through to create my own version of a waist pack, as I could not find anything on the market I liked. The TC-2 holds my iPhone 8+ but is large enough inside to hold a bigger phone, within reason. There are also two internal pockets, handy for a bit of cash or a small notebook, and two outside loops for a pen or pen-style flashlight, or anything of similar size with a pocket clip. I've been using it in this way for the last couple of weeks, and I love it. My phone on my hip, and easy access to it, which was exactly what I needed.

Maxpedition is good, but could be a little better.
Holds my moto z force droid with the Mophie battery mod with room for another spare in the pouch. It's really quite large and the only comfortable way for me to carry it is pouch up on the 3 o'clock right hand hip with my shirt tucked in. I have to tuck my shirts in at work anyway so that's a non issue. My slightly oversized uncle Mike'ss tactical belt will not fit through the MOLLE straps to attach it sideways on my belt which is the only down side. It might work with a thinner more traditional dress belt but I doubt I'll be wearing this tacticool looking pouch to any business meetings seminars or court hearings anytime soon. For those occassions, I would suggest using your pockets if you aren't crawling under houses, through attics, or doing tacticool reloads on the rifle range. As a side note, this pouch will fit a write in the rain booklet, pen, and possibly a space blanket new in package if you organize it correctly. I plan on getting another one for a lightweight survival pouch to include an altoid tin fire kit, Swiss army knife, minimalist first aid supplies and a signal mirror. Overall for the price paid I would have liked to see the incorporation of a way to carry this pouch sideways for larger belts, and maybe offer a version with fleece or felt on the interior for small tablets and smart phone screen protection while holstered.

Decent purchase for your electronics and things
I bought this to use with my ear bud case and my mp3 player. It is a bit larger that I wanted and I find it's over-sized for my waist. But it is a decent product and works well. Stitching, positive clip lock closure, and design all are good. I just don't want something this big on my waistline. But don't count that against it - check the size and if it works for you - buy it. I haven't tried to use with my new extra thick phone battery/back-plate (1/2+ inch thick) yet, it may be it is the perfect size for that.

Not as heavy of material as I have come to expect from Maxpedition
I bought this to use as a phone holster for my S4 phone in an otter box case. Despite the thinner fabric I have no doubt that this case would have held up fine but I have already retired it after a couple weeks because it makes a lousy phone holster. One thing I didn't like about it is that it cannot be closed up and latched with one hand. I am a General Contractor and often have a tool in one hand and my phone in the other. I don't like to have to put down a tool and reach around to my side to latch my phone case with two hands. The other thing that was pretty poorly thought out was that if you have the adjustable strap for closure set up like it shows in the photograph, with the buckle below the logo patch, you actually end up with four inches of strap hanging down below the bottom of the holster. There is no way to adjust this out. They simply put WAY too much strap on the case. My last Maxpedition phone holster for my Casio GZer smart phone was quite good and lasted like iron, so this review is not an indictment of Maxpedition products overall. I also have a Maxpedition shoulder bag which has also held up fantastically well. I really like their products overall, it is just that this one is ill suited as a phone holster, and the strap length is idiotic. I ended up doing what I should have done in the first place and just made a leather case with strap clips I pirated off some other bag I had lying around. I made it out of 9 oz. leather so I doubt it will EVER wear out.

Great rugged phone case if you don't mind that it's a bit bulky
Like every other Maxpedition product this thing is a tank, although that may or may not be a good thing depending on what you use it for. I have another Maxpedition pouch similar to this that's made specifically for large phones but I wanted a vertically oriented one that could take some abuse like the other one (which is also excellent). My only criticism is that as a phone case it's a bit overkill but I understand it's not meant strictly for that so it's a good compromise. Everything is stitched extremely well and the materials are top notch. I have no worries this could go through hell and back and survive with a few scuffs, and the strips on the back should make it easy to strap to a backpack if I ever need to. The loop that hangs down I don't really need. It would be nice if there was a way to tuck it out of the way. If they made a vertically oriented phone pouch like their horizontally oriented one I would have bought that instead but this is a good compromise if a bit overkill for a phone.

Another great product from Maxpedition
Maxpedition design and build great products in Taiwan. This pouch is very rugged to hold a cellphone and can be secured with MOLLE (not included unlike other brands), put on a belt… It’s a bite bulky, but I don’t mind since I carry mine on the outside of my Maxpedition backpack lower right side. Like all Maxpedition products it can take quite a lot of abuse and I am really proud of my purchase. I do recommend their products since they are made with no compromise at all. The choice of materials are excellent as well as the coating. It will last a very long time, no doubt.

Great piece of kit.
Great quality, had one for about 5 years previously and put it through grueling daily use. Highly recommend.
