The double sided tape

The double sided tape that comes with this product is the worst tape after sticking one side to product the other side is impossible to get off had to go buy better double sided tape

Great Product Fiddly install

Very happy with the overall product. Adhesive seems strong. Only draw back was that it took me a little while to install because of the peeling of the tape. But as soon as I had my technique down the rest were fast. I ended up using a fish filleting knife which has a very thin blade. Was just able to get the knife in-between the tape and separate them.

Better Than Pillows

I have 3 granddaughters age one and under. Usually have to "hide" the stone hearth with pillows. And because the hearth is stone, it's uneven in places, but this was easy to install and fits great. I cut the corner pieces and used them to fit the angles at each side using a sharp kitchen knife. The tape seems super sticky, but time will tell. Had a heck of a time getting the film in the tape started to remove it; pair of tweezers finally did the trick. The cushion is thick and soft. You can't feel the stone edges at all when I press down. And the taupe color matches my whitewashed stone perfectly. Love this product.

The blue tape IS the double sided tape

Works great, the "blue duct tape" that people complain about is actually the right tape. You stick it then peel of that blue top layer lol.

Blue DUCT TAPE....actually is the double sided adhesive

SO this item doesn't come with double sided clear tape as stated. It came with BLUE duct tape....really?! I thought another review was just a fluke. Nope. I thought it was ridiculous so I contacted the company and they informed me that the blue duct tape is actually double sided adhesive and the blue part comes off. ooops. This is what the company said "The roll of blue tape is double sided. You will need to apply it to the back of the foam before trying to remove the backing. If you cannot pull off the blue plastic liner after the tape is attached to the foam, use a sharp knife to make a diagonal cut across the width of the tape. This will make it easier to remove the blue backing. Let me know if this still does not work!" And guess what.... it did work! I like the look of this protector and it was simple to put on once I figured out how to remove the blue part- it took cutting a little and tweezers but took maybe 15 minutes to actually put on. I cut the pad just a tad too short so there is a small gap but that is user error. I was pretty baffled by the blue duct tape at first....I was totally wrong and it actually was the correct item received. :)

Fireplace hearth cushion

Excellent product. If child doesn't pull on it when installed, it works fine, otherwise it needs additional adhesive. It does depend on what you are sticking to.

Missing parts - No support

We originally ordered this for our fireplace and it was great. We decided to order another for the downstairs, but unfortunately the product arrived without the adhesive necessary to function. I’ve tried for months to contact the manufacturer and have not gotten a response. As much as I’d like to leave a 5 star review, I can’t because I’m unable to even use the product.

If you can get attached they work

Adhesive was soooooo difficult to get the paper off of. Eventually made it happen and protects the fireplace well.

Excellent form and adhesive, not for brick hearths

Great quality foam that is soft and absorbent. Adhesive worked great for mounting to smooth tiled hearth. Look for another solution if you have a brick hearth.

Didn't stick

We put on the hearth cusion according to the instructions, came back the next day and it had completely fallen off. It was a pain to have to stick the adhesive strips on and then it clearly wasn't strong enough glue. We replaced it with carpet tape which held better but my 11 month old just rips the whole thing off. It does absolutely no good. Also, having to cut the actual foam into pieces to make it fit makes it look bad. I understand that this way it's universal and you can make it fit pretty much any fireplace but it would look a lot nicer as 1 uniform piece.

easy installation. No issues with it staying on

easy installation. No issues with it staying on...even with picking baby fingers! It came off our wooden mantel without marks as well. It looks awful, but at least it protects baby!

Does the trick

It works as advertised but it's not pretty, also trying to get the adhesive protection of the double-sided tape is really hard.

Easy to put on

Easy to put on, I did not use the Velcro, I bought two sided tape instead. Looks great, not an unsightly addition in our living room.
