Perfect Fit!

I have a 2017 RAM 1500 Sport. No factory tow hooks! I believe the Sport fascia / bumper cover is the same as the Express. Install was super easy. I used my floor jack to raise the hitch into position. The front lower bolts got installed first. Center the hitch on using the indents on the black fascia trim. Then I moved the jack out of the way. Next I made the holes in the tubular frame rails using a special order Bosch 17/32" drill bit which cost me $15. You could probably get away with a 1/2" drill bit and open the hole a little with a bastard file. I used some Rustoleum enamel to touch up the bare metal. Next send the fish wire through the square hole on the frame. I sent the wire (non coil side) from the square hole to the bolt hole. Slide down the plate and then screw in your carriage bolt to the threaded wire end. Pull the wire and it goes right in! Use your torque wrench to tighten things to spec and you're done! I did not trim my black plastic fascia. It's raised up slightly but really barely noticeable. You will lose some ground clearance. My 4X4 is about 10 inches to the underside of the K member / engine cradle part of the frame. The front hitch is probably around 8 inches at the lowest point. Something to consider! UPDATE 9/9/2019 - I purchased a rubber plug for the receiver as I noticed it would whistle at certain speeds. I have scraped the front of the receiver pulling out of my driveway. Lastly, I may grind off the loops on each side of the receiver as they really serve no purpose. UPDATE 8/12/2020 - I used my grinder and lobbed off the loops. I used a little Rustoleum black paint to touch up the bare metal. On occasion, I drive on the beach and there are rocks peppered in the sand here and there. The hooks would knock around the rocks. A minor annoyance but happy to be rid of the loops.

Well built, easy to install and works great

Ordered on Amazon and had it the next day. I also ordered the 17/32" drill bit to drill the holes in the frame for the rear mounts of the hitch. Installed on a 2013 Ram 1500 4x4, set air suspension to off road 2 for room to work, then removed tow hooks, lifted hitch in place with a floor jack then bolted front part to tow hook captive nuts in frame. Centered hitch up (bolt holes are slotted) and drilled 2 holes in the truck frame. Easily fished bolts and plates into the frame using supplied spring wire (kinda fun, doesn't look like it would work). Torqued the bolts/nuts then done. I did have to pick up a longer shank as the receiver does set back a bit. You will also need a cap for it as it whistles between 35-45 mph. And yes, as you can tell from the photos/videos, it is below the bumper, therefore it is lower than the bumper... If you want to cut a hole in your bumper, this is not the hitch for you. Poor gearing on my truck does not work well backing the trailer up the drive into a tight place. With this I can easily push it up the hill and not hit the house trying to make a run at it.

Works peefectly

I put this front receiver on for a home snow plow kit. This receiver does not sit below my skid plates. I find more uses all the time, only down fall was that factory tow hooks need to be removed. I am altering my tow hooks to mount back in for asthetics. Easy install with provided fish wires. Be sure to use the bit size recommended or you will hate yourself. Hole has to be large enough for the bolt with the fish wire installed. I did not have the right size bit. I had one size dow Then had to use a rotary bur to enlarge the first hole while careful not to cut the fish wire. The 3 remainging holes I had a friend drop a bit off for and went like butter. It took me an hour with messing with my mistake. I plow with a 7 foot blade and has not so much as budged. Thrilled with this purchase.

Heavy Duty

Took about an hour to install by myself. Half of that time was fishing the wire through for the rear bolts. After I got the first one the second took about 5 minutes. The packing wasn't much but I think if it was dropped of the Ups truck going 60 it would be okay. I did not have to do any cutting. I will need to get an extension to mount my wench.

Perfect fit

Fit my 2012 Ram 1500 flawlessly. Use it for mounting my plow and to mount the winch when needed. Takes about 20 minutes or 1 beer to install then off you go.
