Does what it's supposed to do but loss of pressure was greater than expected.

Full discloure I bought this item in regards to a chemical spill that happened that affected my water. I tried to use the shower head for a few weeks and it definitely filtered more as it should but it left the water with a charcoallike odor ands the loss of pressure made the shower go from a pleasent high pressure to a very weak pressure to the point I removed.

Love this showerhead

Love this showerhead, I love the filters they really help soften my hair and skin. The different settings are great and the magnet is strong and allows for easy positioning.

Not sure

While it was easy to install, I'm not convinced the water filter actually filters the water. I've not noticed shampoo foaming and my skin is still dry and tight after a week of use.

Removes chlorine from the shower

Two part review--(1) the shower head and (2) the activated carbon filter. The shower head is chrome plated plastic but it looks nice and feels reasonably substantial. However if you drop it on a tile floor I suspect it will break. Installation is easy. It has a flow restrictor to save water but I found that it restricted it so much that flow was totally inadequate. The flow restrictor can be removed (in ours it was an orange "o-ring" housed in a small plastic insert that pops apart) and with full flow it is really a nice shower but wasteful of water. While it is possible to reduce flow some with the hot/cold levers, I installed a shower head shut-off valve so that it is set for all users. Culligan should include alternate flow restrictors. To replace the carbon cartridge you have to remove about half dozen screws from the front of the shower head--easier if you remove the the entire shower head and do that on a table. My rating for the shower head is three stars (if they'd include alternate flow restrictors it would be five star). The carbon cartridge is great at removing chlorine from the water--the difference was immediately noticeable in removing the smell and the feel of skin and hair. A carbon cartridge DOES NOT soften the water as some reviewers have claimed, but getting rid of the chlorine will make your skin and hair feel better. And the design of the shower head makes it feel like soft rain falling. The life of the cartridge will depend on usage--removing the flow restrictor will shorten cartridge life. The amount of chlorine in the city water will also impact lifespan. Same with the number and length of daily showers. I'm estimating for two of us the cartridge will last 3-4 months. My rating for the cartridge is 5 stars.

Hate Love

I originally purchased this in August 2010. It started “rusting” and squirting water everywhere so purchased a new one November 2019. I don’t know if I got a “defective” one or what. Water would leak/squirt out of the sealed seam. I spent forever trying to fix it until I think I realized one of the plastic sections that the screws screw into was sticking out a little too much and preventing a good seal on the rubber seal. I filed it down and added Silicone caulk just to be safe and no more leaks. This thing should really be redesigned. Crazy it hasn’t changed in 9 years. I think the only thing different that I noticed was the little flow regulator thingy. Also FYI I sealed off the out holes, and altered the flow regulator so it restricts a little flow. This way I’m probably saving a little water but not sacrificing pressure. Wish there were more rain style shower heads with enclosed filters, unfortunately this is really your only option. Not really gonna comment on the filter, I have no idea if it actually does anything. I just figure better safe than sorry.

Amazing Shower head!

It was very easy to install, shower running nicely! My skin and hair doesnt dry out. At first I turned on water it took a while to adjust the hot water and the second time it is normal! Love the smell of a cleaner water! Got to be patient it will run smoothly if you do it right.

Meh it is ok. Nothing to brag about...

Pros: 1) Filtered water. I live in a city that has a lot of hard water so I hope this helps. The Magnetex brand does not provide this. 2) Magentic Shower Head. My shower head is really high up for me so this helps me to detach the head easier from the holder. Cons: 1) It does not feel like it provides a lot of pressure compared to my Waterpik that I bought from Cosco. Somehow it feels like it takes longer to feel like I have cleaned myself. 2) The spray settings are pretty sad. One is a wider message, but does not provide enough pressure to do anything effective. Then there is a mix of the wider message and spray shower setting which makes the water pressure even more weak. Then there is just the spray shower setting which provides the most water pressure, but the spray is around the outside ring of the shower head that nothing in the middle is cleaned. After that setting is a mix of the spray shower and a narrow message setting like in the presvious misture type spray settings makes rhe water pressure incredibly week. Lastly there is a narrow message setting which has a little more pressure than the wider massage setting, but still not effective enough to do anything. Rather silly that they have 2 message settings instead of 1 really effective message setting and 2 differenet styles of showers (spray and rain or spray and like the Waterpik has a pressurerized mist setting). 2 Pros and 2 Cons makes a 3 star rating for me.

Do not settle for knock-offs

I've looked at many products before making a decision. Culligan is known for reverse osmosis and supplies millions of litres of purified water to consumers at various retails. This showerhead kit works really well. we are in a hard water area (130 to 150) and the results are great. More more dry skin on my legs and arms, my wife loves her hair. Go for the trusted one!!

can really write about its chlorine fighting ability because i dont really have anything to measure this, but all in all a pretty good shower head, i was kinda worried about it being plastic with a chrome finished but after i took my old shower head off and found out it was plastic with a chrome finished i was fine since ive had that one for years. i recommend it

We just got it. Easy to install and the magnetic head is awesome. Above all I can already tell that it limits chlorine. I normally take long hot showers and therefore feel a bit high on fumes and my face comes out red after each and every shower. After just one shower using the Culligan filtered shower system I came out feeling great with no ill effects from chlorine fumes and no redness on my face. I couldn’t believe it. I also asked my kids regarding itchiness that they experience after every shower due to their dry sensitive skin and they said that they feel great after using this Culligan system. Go for it and be healthy.
