Wow! What a difference !
So I had a middle of the road hand held grater that I used for grating fresh Parmesan and garlic. It did a good enough job but was getting tired and showing it's age on the hard cheese. Or maybe it's my age that had the whole process becoming more effort-full than I was willing to put up with. Thus began my search for a better grater. I bought the "barrel" type grater that you see in many Italian restaurants as in "would you like cheese on that?". No go. Too bulky to store, too big a hassle to clean and couldn't really use it for grating garlic. Then I decided to give this grater a try. Like the title says "Wow! What a difference!". It is larger than my old one and I find that I really like the increase in surface area. It is indeed sharp but unless I stopped paying attention and got my nail or rough edge of my fingertip crossed over the grating holes it didn't try to bite me at all. The holes are small enough that if I used the pad of my finger I could grate the garlic right down into nothingness with no damage to my skin. I was pleasantly surprised by this since my fear of having a sharp grater is that I am notorious for multitasking myself into the emergency room. It grated the garlic so well that I had a pile twice as big as I normally get from a clove of garlic. This super-fine grate made the garlic release it's flavor fantastically in my dish. The super hard aged Parmesan was next and it tackled it with ease. The only thing that I have to work on is my heavy-handedness exerting more force than is now required. When you push too hard you can feel the grater flex and I'd hate to damage my new best friend! The top edge of the grater blade is very sharp which is why they have the curved metal guard over it...however , for me, if there's a will, there's a way to get nicked by it so some care is required. The plastic guard is also a must for this grater to coexist, peacefully, with other utensils in the drawer. If it proves to be durable it will be my dream grater.

Great graters but still disappointed...
I love my new Cuisipro graters. I purchased 4: the two-way for coarse grates, the shaver, the parmesan, and the fine. I bought them first because I wanted to try the surface glide technology and it works beautifully as described. I also decided on these because the Microplane models that are similar have their measuring covers clip onto the bottom edge so when you brace on a counter/surface, your grating pressure is forced onto the little plastic clips that hold the cover in place. If you push too hard I'd imagine those would break and the measuring cover wouldn't stay on (just watch a Williams Sonoma video and you'll see what I mean). The Cuisipro cover clips around the edge of the blade and not around the rubber grip at the end. The cover clips have no pressure exerted on them as you grate. I have used Microplane before but so far I like these blades better. The two way makes great use of both directions and creates thinner coarse shavings but does a wonderful job. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have clean it by scrubbing parallel with the blades or you shred your sponge/dishcloth. The parmesan I'm still figuring out how to clean without shredding but it too works beautifully. I don't see why the shaver and fine grater wouldn't work as good as the two I've tried. However, I am really disappointed in amazon for sending me what look like open or after-market models. It's painfully obvious that the graters were opened and hanging in some sort of light that caused the cardboard backing to seriously fade and also "bake" on the "bonus" sticker on the cover. I'm gingerly trying to get it off so it doesn't come off some other way I don't want it to, but dang! Just yesterday amazon sent me an Emile Henry baking dish that had irregularities in the finish that were so sharp, they scratched my fingers. I then was informed since it was through no fault of theirs, that they would charge me $10 to return the dish. I'm so glad these graters didn't have too much wrong with them........

I love this grater
I have microplanes for grating small amounts of cheese, but I've always used a box grater for larger quantities (and inevitably end up grating my fingers). I encountered a rasp-style grater like this one at an AirBnb recently, and really liked it. This allows me to process cheese quickly, and it's ergonomic to use. It's easier to keep clean than a box grater and less likely to take off a chunk of finger. Highly recommend.

This is the one you want.
No need to pop your cheese in the freezer for a few minutes before using this one. The surface does what it promises - easy shredding without drag or buildup. The edge design and silicone coating make this sturdy and non- slip against any cutting board or over the edge of containers. I never knew I could be so impressed by a handheld grater! Obviously you need to be careful when cleaning - I use an Oxo Good Grips dish brush.

Best Grater!!
I found this type of grater after looking for a quality box grater. I ordered the extra coarse, coarse, and fine. I love these graters. They are easy to use, less bulky than a box type grater so they easily fit in a drawer. The quality is great, and they are durable. And they are much easier to clean than a a box grater. Oh, and they are very sharp and food of all types grates very easily on these probably due to the patented surface. I also like the fact that these paddle slicers are bigger than most and gives you more surface area so you can grate more. Highly recommend!!!

Exactly What I Wanted in a Grater
Grates cheese extremely well and easily. I love that it fits nicely into my kitchen drawer and doesn't require the space of a traditional standing type of grater. The safety cover prevents accidental cuts too! The rubber stop on the end actually works and prevents the grater from sliding while in use. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is because the measuring option does not match the amount of cheese typically used in my recipes; I don't think I've ever used just 2 Tablespoons of cheese in a recipe. Other than that, I totally LOVE this grater!

Love it!
I've had a couple different zesters and have been unhappy with how they preform. They either don't work at all or just leave me with mush. This zester is awesome. It takes very little effort. I was able to zest a whole lemon quickly and had a ton of zest. Word of caution it is very very sharp, watch your fingers.

Super sharp
Preferring this to a box grater as so sharp. Rubber end prevents slipping. Grater is finer than I had expected /hoped for

don't think they have had any better luck than me
Very awkward to use, tried to use it, how now given it away, don't think they have had any better luck than me.

sharpest grater known to man
This was advertised as a nutmeg grater so I thought it would be small but it's a lot bigger than I thought. It stripped the zest from a lime almost by looking at it. It's highly effective. After seeing what it did to the lime I'm a little worried about what it would do to my hand if/when I slip.
