I Should Have Gotten this Long Ago
It's a sturdy thing; I don't think I will ever need to buy another one. I never knew why my files would got so clogged up. Then I learned that I was using "metal" files to grind down "wood"! But it didn't matter with this file card/brush. It makes short work of cleaning them up. Safe to say I love it and would recommend it to anyone needing to clean up their files.

Nice file card - terrible packaging
This is a comment on the shipping. The file card is excellent, or should I say, would have been excellent if it wasn't for the terrible packaging. Plastic bag, no box. As expected, crushed some of the wire brush side. Still usable but come on now, do I really need two plastic bags? This should have been shipped in a small box. Waste of plastic and waste of my time too. I'd hesitate on buying again ONLY because of the genius in the shipping department that thought this was a good way to ship this item. I really don't like leaving negative reviews on USA made products. I want to support this country, but there is a limit to the stupidity I'll tolerate.

As mentioned in other reviews: if you have files, you need a file card! Recently, metal machining has piqued my curiosity; I have viewed many videos online and read many forums about various machining techniques. There are many different ways to build/assemble/modify metal parts and materials. (I've just begun to scratch the surface.) What surprised me is how often files are still used in the modern machine shop. (I've owned and used files for years, but not like machinists do.) What I quickly learned is that a file is a tool, just like any other. If you want any tool to last longer and function at its best, you want to keep it in top shape. This is what a file card is for. Every time you're finished using your file, you should clean it with a file card. Upon realizing this, I ordered this file card. Once I received it, I cleaned all of my files (about six) thoroughly. After a few minutes, I had a pile of shavings and rust on my workbench from files that I had thought were relatively clean! Well worth the money.

If you know, you know...
This is definitely one of those old-school items that is rarely spoken of, but thankfully, I read about their application and now wouldn't be without one. I am of the belief that files are one of the most overlooked tools in the world, but their use and dependability is still paramount in almost any material application. Before buying this, I'd ignore gummed up files at garage sales because I didn't want the hastle of cleaning them, but this makes it easy to restore and maintain them so that they may continue cutting clean surfaces for many more years to come. Be gentle and patient in its use to maintain the bristles, and this will serve you well, and at a very reasonable price

While I don’t need to clean my files every day, I have used this card file to clean my entire set and continue to use it as needed. After over a year of occasional use, it’s holding up well.

Like high school shop class
This brush reminds me of the ones we used to use in High School metal shop. Maybe that’ why I like is so much. Either way it works. The picture really doesn’t do it justice. The nylon bristles are longer than they appear, making for easy cleanup after most jobs. If you are one who likes to maintain his tools, a brush like this is a must for your files.

Still the best
Nicholson is still the best name in files and file accessories. This file card (why call it a card?) has many (too many to count) tiny wire bristles on one side and stiff brushes on the opposite side. It works fast in cleaning out your clogged file edges. It is comfortable to use for extended periods. They are now a part of Crescent Tools which also covers Wiss, Lufkin, GearWrench, Delta, Weller and many others. Most brands are currently releasing co-branded Crescent/[tool brand] tools in their traditional orange colorway and will in all probability be entirely rebranded Crescent in the coming years.

File Card and Brush
I required this type of metal brush along with the tough bristle brush to clean files. Works great. I am using it with small size files for precision work. This brush removes the debris caught inside of the file serrations. It was designed to work with larger files but works well with the small ones. The bristle brush also works very well. I found the overall quality to be excellent. It does the job the way I expected. For handling and keeping a grip on the handle, it fits my hands very well. What I also like is it is marked, "USA" on it. Not many of these types of products are still made in North America or Europe. If you need a good quality file cleaner with a metal type brush and a rear side bristle brush, I would recommend this one.

Perfect Multi Purpose brush
I bought this brush to use with my under pad for my Ruggable rug. The corners of the carpet lifts off the under pad when pet hair gets stuck underneath. I quick brush with this and the velcro like under pad adheres to the carpet again.

A Well Made Tool
A quality tool with a large, solid wood handle and good bristle brush and file comb faces. Highly recommended.
