The material was a better quality than I thought
The standard runs a little small. I am a size medium (8-10). Motivation to stay on my diet :). However, the next size up was too big (I bought both....Tried to shrink the larger size, but does not shrink when washed and placed in the dryer....but it did get the wrinkles out without ironing!!). The material was a better quality than I thought. I did wear it for Halloween, and it looked great!!!!....I am a stickler for details after looking at pictures of Mary Poppins, I did order another shirt (frilly) and tie (red) as recommended, instead of what came with the costume. I made my own black straw hat with daisies and cherries. Ordered white gloves and a hair clip (to cover my hair bun). Already had black boots. I ordered an orange striped scarf from another website. Topped it off with my mother's black umbrella and satchel. Even found a foam parrot head to put on the umbrella handle. Perfect for Mary Poppins...Except for sizing issues (lost one star), as noted with previous reviews, I was very happy with the product. Thank you!!

No true "Large" available
Ok, so I poured over every review trying to figure out if I was the 14-16 "standard" or the 16-18 "plus". I am a straight size 10 in pants and always wear a medium shirt, sweater or jacket. As a result, I decided to go for the "standard". Well the skirt fit just fine, it is very full and so it does appear "large", but no problems at all with the waist (elastic). The jacket however is extremely small (prob would fit my 14 year old daughter perfectly). It's was so tight I couldn't button any of it except for the top one (remember I am a MEDIUM in any other shirt, top, etc in all of my other clothes). I then had to order the PLUS costume and it's too big. I will be using it, but I will need to safety pin it at my waist in the back and roll up the sleeves because the jacket is huge. The skirt is even poofier than the other, but because it's an elastic waist, it goes on and I'll make it work since my party is 4 days away. There is no size for this costume that is a true "Large" like if you were a 12 or 14 in other clothes, if that's what you're looking for. You have to go really small or really big if you're in that 10-12 range. It will be cute in the end and the lights are always dim for Halloween, probably won't see the pins etc. anyway. It's nice but tiny
The suit itself is cute but very tiny- nowhere near a ladies 14. I wear a 10 and will stuff myself in and ace bandage my boobs because I want to be Mary Poppins for Halloween. .I'm a teacher- it makes a good costume choice. The blouse underneath is just a dickey but it should do. The hat is really kind of silly but I have a black straw hat to use with some flowers on it , it will do just fine. It's a decent price compared to other things out there and with Prime shipping, I'll keep it.

I definitely love this costume. I am going for the Halloween costume look of Mary Poppins so I got this costume. It looks very nice on me, and looks authentic and original. However, the reviews are NOT wrong when they say the costume runs ridiculously small. I ordered the standard size that can fit 12-16 and it most certainly would not. I am a varying size 6-8 and it fit me, just barely. I'm giving it 3 stars because I like the costume and it does fit me, but it loses two stars because it's much smaller than described. I would not order this unless you are a size 8 and under.

Runs SUPER small, but worth every penny!
Beware - I am a size 6, and the 14/16 barely buttoned up (the skirt is fine though). The fabric is super thin, but I just wore a slip underneath and was totally fine. I got a TON of compliments, and won the Halloween costume contest at the party I attended - I paired this with a "Vote for Women" sash I made and skipped the hat, and went as a suffragette. The bowtie is attached by the way, and the "shirt" is a dickie (throwback to childhood), but in the end it was great. Just buyer beware that the costume is SMALL, so very thankful I read reviews before purchasing!

I'm a size 6-8 but ordered the 14-16 based on the sizing comments. Skirt has electric waste so that fit fine but the jacket was too short. Fit fine across bust, back and arm length but needed to be about 2 inches longer in the front. The last button was above my naval so I used a safety pin (no extra button available) to pin it at the bottom but was still a bit short. Hiked up the skirt a bit to hide the shirt I wore under it. Definently not like the picture of the model wearing this costum. A bit of a frumpy fit for me.

Tight fit blazer, fits like a sz 6 blazer
Was concerned about the size being 14/16 and I wear a small or 6. But went with reviews that did it was smaller than expected. The skirt I think we'll fit 14 or 16 a it's very stretchy elastic waist. The jacket however has no stretch and I can barely button it. My skit is 5 minutes so it will have to work but I would not be comfortable wearing this for hours.

This is a cheap costume. The fabric is uncomfortable and I highly recommend wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath. It doesn't come with a white shirt, just this bit of material that sort of gives the appearance of a shirt. It is a lot smaller than a 14-16. I typically wear a 10 or 8 and it fit me just perfectly. I bought it for a last minute Halloween costume and it was fine for that.
