My husband loves them.
After trying many briefs these finally were a go. My husband loves them. He first got them in blue and then green.

Handle with great care; not durable
I swim laps every other day in the gym pool (LA Fitness) for exercise. After I finish swimming, I spend some time in the jetted hot tub. I assume, due to the jets of the hot tub, parts of the suit have deteriorated to the point that some areas of the suit have become somewhat transparent. I also discovered that this suit appears to be composed of two layers of thin material, and what looks like recycled paper in between the two layers. With my back to the hot tub jets, the air would go to the front of the suit, and the outer and inner layer would separate by way of an air pocket/bubble. In less than two months, the suit has deteriorated to the point that I no longer feel comfortable wearing it, given the separation of layers and transparency issue. I contacted Speedo online regarding this issue; I was immediately told that I would need to take up the issue with Amazon, even though Amazon directs customers to contact Speedo about any issues, which I told the Speedo rep. Then they said there is a 60 day warranty which requires the product to "be in pristine condition". IOW, if you used it, you can't return it under the warranty. Overall, the suit is comfortable; however, if you choose to buy it, do not rely on any kind of trial warranty from Speedo, and handle this suit with extreme care due to its delicacy.

Great product. I got a 40" even though my pants are 36"
Go big on the size. Very comfortable and the five inch side is the way to go. I'm 5'10" and 190 pounds. I take a 36 inch waist in pants but got the 40 inch speedo. It's very comfortable and well made.

Perfect for Old Guys Whose Better Days Are Long Past
I have not worn a Speedo brief swim suit for over 40 years. I decided to try this one exclusively for use in my pool which is in a screened pool enclosure that is surrounded by a tall hedge. So, no worry about scaring the neighbors. ;-) I bought it hoping it would be comfortable, fast drying and easy to rinse after use. Happily, I can report that it meets all those criteria. But, I wanted to submit this review hoping it may be helpful to someone else contemplating ordering one. I read all the questions and all the reviews before I ordered. (Yes, I'm OCD.) Several commented that this suit runs somewhat small. I carefully measured myself at each recommended body location (remember, I'm OCD) and came out being a "perfect" size 37. So, based on the reviews and answered questions, I decided to go the half size larger, a 38. The 38 fits and is comfortable but after wearing in daily for a week it's clear that a size 36, would fit better. So, based on my experience, if your an in-between size, I'd recommend going to the lower size. (I should point out, that other than my love handles and old geezer gut, I have a thin build.)

Tight Leg Openings
I've always been a speedo wearer and enjoy the fit and convenience of a brief, but my wife thinks I should try something with more coverage. I decided to try this and right away I found the leg openings to be very tight on my legs. Everything else fits as it should and provides good coverage. I'm on the fence though because it's a little strange looking. Honestly, I think a regular brief is better looking than this and if you really want more coverage, maybe a square cut would suit you better. Also, if you're thinking this suit will conceal more of your bits, it won't. My wife will have to pry my banana hammocks out of my cold dead hands.

Sleek fit
Suit is sleek and I use it for lap swimming. Leg openings are a little tight, but I'm assuming they will stretch with more use.

OK
I prefer the Endurance. I tried this at a size 36” as there were no 34” and it was also discounted. I hoped it fit a size smaller like the Endurance does but it fits like a true size 36”.

size, style, fit, durability
I'm in my 80's, still wear size 32, still swim most mornings. I find it increasingly difficult to find a plain swim trunk, with reasonable rise (5"-6"). The Speedo Men's Xtra Life Lycra fits well. Time will tell if the lycra "extra life" will last a reasonable length of time: I wore out five or six previous Speedo lycra swim suits per year, whereas TYR's polypropylene suits lasted about two years each; unfortunately these suits do not seem to be available any longer. Pity. Update, 8/01/2019: the Speedo Xtra Life barely lasted three months- granted, that is longer than previous Speedos, but certainly not nearly as good as TYR's polypropylene! Update: 29/02/2020 Another Speedo Xtra Life; previous comments still stand- fit well, they all last about 3 months. I keep buying them because I can't find an alternative.

quick delivery, good quality
Can't comment on the double life fabric claim yet, but it fits and swimming is comfortable. I never like the big board style shorts for swimming, and this is a middle ground between the real small speedo and the way too much fabric models that take forever to dry.
