The old file that I had (at least 50 years old)that was given to me from my dad finally won’t file anymore purchased this 6 inch file which is like the old one only the new works way better,I used it 5 minutes after I received it

Great file, would buy again

I consider a short file to be an essential addition to any BOB, where you intend to survive for more than a few days. If you have knives or any other metal tools in your bag that you need to stay sharp, you should carry a file like this with you. A plain file is the fastest and most reliable way to sharpen/repair blades of all sizes and shapes (in less than ideal conditions). Combine this 6" file with a small whetstone and your portable sharpening needs are met. Because I am storing the file in a tightly packed bag, I had to make a sheath of sorts for it. As you can see in my picture, it doesn't look pretty, but it gets the job done. The "sheath" is a strip of nylon canvas (8" x 1.5") folded over the file, then duct tape is folded/rolled over the nylon canvas. The nylon layer prevents the duct tape from sticking to the file, and gives it some rigidity. Easy and fast to make, and now the file won't be poking holes in my bag. Nice!

Wished one side was curved

Both sides are flat. I incorrectly assumed one was rounded. Some jobs necessitate a flat side, others a curved side. Otherwise, the product works well.

Works great. Sharpened lawn mower blade and still looks brand new.

After using it to sharpen the lawnmower blade, I was worried it would be damaged based on some other reviews. There WAS a lot of metal debris stuck in between the grooves, so I sprayed it clean and now it looks brand new. I'm not sure if the other reviews are genuine, or if they were trying to sharpen something much harder, but this tool worked great for me. Only regret is I bought the 8-inch. Go for the 10 or 12. I would return if I didn't already use it. You'll appreciate the extra length.

Another great tool from Corona

Fifty years ago, I bought a garden shears at a garden supply shop in Los Angeles. The owner told me that I would get a lifetime of use from it. I am approaching eighty and it continues to be my favorite clipper. This file follows that tradition. Trust Corona for producing excellent tools. I love this file.

Strong, well made

I am very happy with this file. It feels quality made and does a good job. It is made in America. It is larger than I expected. The file is 8 inches long, which doesn't include the length of the handle. Overall it is 13 inches.

Not what’s shown in pictures...

The add says single cut in fine print but shows a double cut bastard file in the pictures , misleading I’m upset I wanted double cut and now I’m stuck with this file and I have to buy a double cut too , thanks alot

Fantastic

Great file for sharpening anything metallic

Used it on lawnmower blades, axes, screwdriver heads, hatchets etc. Extremely pleased with this product.
