I have a small Muscadine grape vineyard, about 100 vines. I estimate I make 250k clips per year with these pruners. I have been through 3 sets in 20 years. What I like, the little rubber cushion that cushions the handle when you go full stroke. Ease of sharpening with the available sharpening tool. Improvements could be a little better cushioning on the grips. I have worn the center pin out on two pairs and the pin holding the blade on another but after a million clips per unit I am happy.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PRUNER/CLIPPER FOR THE MONEY...A real bargan, as a matter of fact.
I do a tremendous amount of pruning and have for quite a number of years now. I have, for the most part, always used Felco products and as a matter of fact have two Felco F-2 pruners which are in constant use. I never thought I would say this about another product of this ilk, but these Corona By Pass Pruners, BP 6250 are just as good as my old reliable Felcos. Not only that but these things cost about half as much as the last pair of Felco pruners I cost. Now I cannot say they are better; no, I won't go that far, but I will say that their performance is equal and ease of maintenance is equal. I bought this pair simply because I needed another pair as I have forced my grandson into hard labor in pruning some of our ornamental bushes, roses, bush, etc., and he will be forced to prune grapes when the time comes. This has taken approximately five hours a week away from his golf, tennis, girls, X-Box and staring off into space time, and he feels quite abused. I am a cruel taskmaster though, and will not relent. He will be going into the military soon and I need to get as much work out of him as possible until that time. Anyway.... These pruners come right out of the box very sharp and very ready to go to work. They have proven to be extremely durable and if you do not ask them to do jobs they were not meant to perform, they go through branches up to one inch like they were going through butter...just as they say they will. The forged aluminum handle make them light enough so that your arm feels much better after a couple of hours of steady work. Fortunately the blade is made from carbon steel. This is good because you can put a very nice edge on the blade and it holds well. Sharpening with a fine file or using a fine grit stones works great as long as you know how to sharpen a blade. The blades are easy to remove and are replaceable (I have not had to do this yet). As with all carbon blades though, this tool needs to be cleaned and lightly oiled after every use as the blade will rust...staining and patina is okay, but you most certainly want to keep the rust away. The volute spring action is smooth and most certainly resists clogging. The locking mechanism is good and can be engaged with one thumb. The pivot bold allows for easy adjustments; very precise adjustments as a matter of fact. This pruner does have a self-cleaning sap groove which allows for a nice clean blade at all times. The handles fit my hand (and grandson's, who actually has much larger hands than I have) perfectly so there is little strain and hand fatigue. All in all, while I cannot say that I would ever actually replace my Felcos with these, I certainly have no qualms about recommending this pruner and when all is said and done, especially if you are not going to be using these things on a full time basis, these are probably a better by for your money than the Felco. There is certainly no reason for these not to give the part time gardener many years of good service. Don Blankenship The Ozarks

Minor step down from my beloved Felco 2
Not a felco but for me actually a close second at a great price. Still love the felco! Pic is comparison from left: Corona 6250, Felco 2 and Felco 4. The Felco 2 and 4 are Swiss made, high quality carbon steel blade, strong aluminum handles with the 4 being lighter duty. The Corona has again high quality carbon steel blade, strong aluminum handles but is made in Taiwan. I use the Felco 4 professionally, always in my truck, and the Corona on the counter inside the door. My hand does not feel a difference and the Corona 6250 functions 'as good as' the Felco's. I'll always use the #2 professionally, they've never failed me. At half the price the Coronas are exceptional yet I just feel more confident facing the rigors of professional pruning with a Felco on hand.... never without them. Coronas experience similar light dusting of rust on their high quality carbon steel as do the Felcos, a small price to pay for good steel that holds an edge. I recommend Coronas to my regular customers and Felcos to those who always want the very best. Taiwan is not mainland China, not communist and are under constant threat by the ChiComs. Taiwanese manufacturing is very reliable in comparison, do not buy 'Made in China' pruners, they WILL fail you!

Lock wouldn’t engage, but good shears.
I have liked using these garden shears very much. They are sturdy and I also bought the sharpeners for later use when these have begun to dull. My only fault to report was that the locking device would not engage for it was just a little too long and could not engage. So I used a metal rasp and filed it down about 1/16” and now it can engage. But many may not have rasps handy if their shears have the same problem? Hopefully I just received the rare unit that had a small flaw.

Not as good as I expected
The clippers were not as good as I expected. The biggest issue I have is manufacturing quality. When I received the package they looked very nice. When I opened the package and slid the lock off and the pruners stayed shut. I forced open the pruners and closed them and I could tell that something was interfering with the operation of the cutting blades and every time I closed them the spring would not open the pruners. I closely inspected the construction of the pruners and noticed there was a shiny line starting to wear on the inside of the blade that was directly in line with a rivet. There are two rivets that hold the steel cutting blade to the aluminum handle. One of the rivets was sticking up high enough that it interfered with the operation of the cutters and caused them to stick when closed. I filed the rivet down and they now operate very smooth and the spring opens the pruners like it was supposed to. If there was any quality control at all, this would have been easily caught by the manufacturer. Additionally I thought I read in a review that these were manufactured in the USA. This is not the case, they are made in Taiwan. With about 15 minutes of my time filing down the rivet, I now think these are very good clippers, but I expected more quality right out of the box. Another thought, I bought these pruners before I had seen them in person. These pruners must literally come off the same production line as the felco pruners because there is no difference between them that I can tell.
