This Is A Classic Vitamix 64 oz Container and Works Great On My 5000!
I rebuilt a Vitamix 5000 base with a new speed control and needed a new container. This was a perfect wet-dry updated container. It is more isolated than the original one and as a result it is quieter. I also replaced the drive socket and now it all works better than NEW!

Use my vitamix every day to make breakfast smoothie on a nearly 20 year old machine, bought this to upgrade the old container which still functioned but was discolored from years of use...pleased to be able to upgrade old machine with original quality part!

Fantastic Vitamix Container
It's great to have a new Vitamix pitcher after 18 years. This is so clear and clean compared to what I got used to in the past few years. Glad that I could buy the official Vitamix product here on Amazon.

mixes as expected
Great blade for mixing a smooth ice drink, however, the lack of cover over the handle is uncomfortable when handling the pitcher itself. Would recommend you spend the extra money for the one with the thicker handle cover -

This item was sold and shipped from the Wasserstrom Restaurant Supply Company via Amazon. It arrived in a sturdy box and in perfect condition. After my original VitaMix processor container's blade assembly wore out again I decided I wanted to not only replace the defective blade assembly but also the container itself. After over 14 years of service it had become cloudy. I first went to the VitaMix site and the cost was a bit more than I expected (yet understand that if I had not found a better price for this item on Amazon I would have purchased it- after you've used a VitaMix Whole Food processor there IS NO SUBSTITUTE). VitaMix apparently redesigned this container and Wasserstrom Restaurant Supply still had the previous design in stock. I decided to purchase it seeing that Wasserstrom Restaurant Supply's container was still an updated version from the one I had and the price was about the same as purchasing the blade assembly alone from VitaMix. I am again loving smoothies after suffering subpar results from a Cuisinart unit I foolishly bought after the blade assembly went out (I have a review of that unit on Amazon- beware because you truly get what you pay for). This container continues VitaMix's well earned reputation as being the gold standard for whole food processors. My smoothies from this container are made quickly with the ingredients completely blended down to the consistency I love. Cleanup is a breeze- just add ½ container of water, a drop of dish water detergent and turn the unit on high after securing the cap. After 30 second rinse out the container and cap. I recommend Wasserstrom Restaurant Supply for your VitaMix container needs & I definitely recommend VitaMix as the best whole food processor you can buy- I've owned my unit for over 14 years!

Working great with my 5200/C-series
I'm using this with a Vitamix Creations GC base (a 5200/C-series machine). Mine came with a 48oz container and I wanted to replace it with a full 64oz one. This was about $30 cheaper than others I could find on Amazon at the time, although the others do have the newly designed lids. I did reach out to Vitamix to ensure that this was compatible with my base and this was their response... "The Vpro 64 ounce 001195 is a commercial grade container and is not recommended to be used with the Creations GC machine that you currently have. If you were looking to purchase a larger container for your machine it would be the Classic 64 ounce container. It is listed on our website retailing at $149.95." Their response came too late though, I needed a container and took my chances with this one. It's working like a charm. I can't say whether or not the new lid design is easier/better in use, but I'm not having trouble with this one now that I've got the hang of it. I guess I'm taking a chance given that they didn't recommend this container, but I truly don't think it's any different than their old consumer containers.

Replacement for Super 5000
I ordered this container to replace the one that came with my Vita-Mix Super 5000. (That container had developed a line of cracks around the bottom and was leaking, but after 18 years or so of frequent use, I couldn't really complain.) It arrived yesterday and I've already used it twice this morning -- first for a smoothie, then for a batch of roasted-tomato pasta sauce. It fits perfectly on the base and performs exactly as the original container had done. A couple of notes for those thinking of ordering. This doesn't come with the tamper, so either hang on to the old one or order a replacement (making sure it's the version that fits the 64-ounce container). If they're still in good shape, you might want to hang to the old lid and plug, too -- they fit the container just fine, though the plugs aren't interchangeable between lids.

Seal Problem
This is the typical vitamix blender container but I’m a little disappointed in the lid. The lid does not fit tightly and has a strong tendency to pop out unless you hold it in place. I’ve had leaky lids that sealed better if you keep pressure on the top when blending but never a lid you have to physically hold in place and still have material leaking out the top. Not sure if my produc5 is defective or if this is just a feature of this particular design!???
