Perfect for "Moochdocking" far from your friend's or family's AC outlet
I bought this heavy-duty extension cord almost two years ago & it goes everywhere in our RV. It has saved the day many times when it was not possible to park near an AC outlet (and when it was too rainy for so long that our solar could not keep up). This thick cable houses 3 wires that are each 10-gauge, so the power drop over distance is minimal. The cheerful yellow color is also highly-visible which prevents tripping. Great product!

Note that this is connected to a 50 AMP line through an adaptor. ...
We have a 50 AMP line for our motor home (MH). After a careful analysis of our usage, we decided that a 30 amp extension cord world work without any loss in function. The 50 AMP draw means that we would be running absolutely everything in the MH at the same time. Since we don't do this, the 30 AMP cord works just fine. Also, it is nice to see the glow on the end that shows that power is ***ON*** as opposed to off. the yellow casing was appreciated for its visibility. An added note: If you are deciding between a 30 AMP & a 50 AMP extension cord, first look at the peak (start) power draw & the sustained (running) power draw of your appliances. Here's an example from our MH: Background system usage - 1 ~ 2 - just running the MH's basic systems, some lights, and the built-in System Charger for the "house" batteries. Microwave: 15 peak - 12 sustained 1 AC unit: 15 peak - 8 sustained // 2 units - double // Refrigerator: 6 peak - 4 ~ 5 sustained ... sometimes down to 2 Chargers & etc. for Laptop, Tablet, & Phones: 1/2 ~ 1 ----------- Please do your research before buying this extension cord. If you haven't, or are unsure & have a 50 AMP system, then invest the extra money & get the 50 AMP one. One final note: We use the MH for short vacations. If you plan on living in your MH for more than a few days at a time, then don't even consider getting an extension cord with less than the full rating for your MH. You'll be using the MH more like a house where you don't worry about the current draw. Cheaping out will probably bite you in the end. ----------- Update: 7 Oct 13 - Well the inevitable happened. We were parked 6 feet short of the 50-amp power outlet for our 50-amp cord to reach. And the county fairgrounds only had 50 & 15 amp outlets. Bummer! And then a miracle happened. I remembered that I had grabbed our 50-amp to 30-amp converter from our old 1960 Airstream! So, I had a 50-->30converter--30-Amp-cord--30-->50converter--50-Amp-cord--Motorhome. It worked with 30-Amp service coming into the Motorhome!

Good quality 30 Amp RV extension Cord
This is an extension cord for a 30 Amp RV plug. Both ends are 30 Amp RV plugs, one male, one female. I use it when the electrical hookup is too far away for my standard RV cord. I have used it in bad weather, and it is virtually weather proof, holds up well and is heavy enough to carry the current. The RV cord plugs firmly into one end, and the other end plugs into the campground power outlet. If you travel and use different campgrounds, this is a good thing to carry along, as you never know how the campground is going to be laid out and what space might be available. We have needed this extension only a few times, but when you need it, it's great to have it. My only negative on this is it was made in China. I try to buy Made in USA when ever I can, but wasn't aware of the COO on this until I received it. The quality is good regardless.

Perfect Extension Cord for RVs with 30 Amp Power
I have used this extension cord many times over the past several months - it works great. I no longer have to try to get the RV parked just right so that the electrical, water, and sewer connections can be made without moving the RV! One thought - because this is for 30 Amps it does weigh a bit. 50 Amp extension cords will weigh even more. For me the essential accessories for parking the RV are: 1) Leveling pads 2) Wheel chocks (bright yellow so you remember to pull them out before driving over them) 3) Extension cord for power feed (get the right one usually 30 or 50 amps) - this one is great for 30 Amp feeds 4) Sewer line extension 5) Sewer line caddy (so things flow down hill) 6) Water hoses (notice the plural - I have seen camp sites where electric is at one end, water at the other 7) Water pressure regulator

For use with Travel Trailer
I have 26ft rockwood ultralight. I have a 25 foot plug that goes into the trailer(female locking ) that came with my trailer . The other end is a NEMA TT-30P (male end) with ground and 2 blades. I needed an extension plug to reach my 30 amp femal NEMA TT030R (female) box i had wired to my house. I wanted to run my a/c when parked in my driveway. This was the perfect product for this. It comes with NEMA TT-30P and NEMA TT30R plugs at either end. This cannot be used to plug into your camper, that has a different plug type that is locking(at least in my case). This cord is only used to extend my existing 25ft cable - so now I have 50 ft total when plugged into at my house. You can also use it at the campsite as well if you needed more than 25ft.
