Burley Flex Connector for SQUARE tow arm
There is not much to say about this item. It just replaces the old Flex Conector that is worn from well over 1500 miles of riding and carrying some 100 pounds in the trailer. I will say that Burley should have made it a tad larger in diameter because there is a wee bit of play in it once installed. On the old one the play in between the connector and the square tube was to the point that it made the trailer sort of rock back and forth with each pedal. So it got uncomfortable pulling it. The rocking motion would sort of pull back on you then push you when pedaling. This new connector took care of all but just a bit of that and when pedaling in a constant motion you don't feel it at all. I may take it back off and put a thin shim inside of the square tow arm to make it Tight. The one for square tow arms (this one) has ribs around the part inserted into the tube whereas the one for round tow arms does not. Either way this is a much better setup than most out there with just a spring. It wobbles a whole lot less. Burley makes some of the nicest trailers on the market, but they are one of the most expensive.

Much needed upgrade. Minor installation issue. Would buy again.
Purchased this to upgrade our Burley trailer from the classic style attachment after seeing one of the new styles around town and doing some research. We also purchased the Burley Design 12.2MM Steel Hitch for this. This one is for the older, circular tube style trailer frames. We have used this on a Cannondale hybrid with rim brakes and a Scott mountain bike with disk brakes. This went together with a little more difficulty than expected. That could have been avoided if the included bolt was 1/4" longer. As a result, I had to clamp the bolt in place without the included D ring in order to compress everything into place and allow for enough margin to be able to fit the nut onto the bolt with the D ring in place. The instructions also indicate to double wrap the strap around the frame, but I found that this is not possible as the strap is just slightly too short to reach when wrapped twice. I do not consider this to be an issue for safety and may be a result of the design of our bike frames. I would buy this again as it makes installing and removing the trailer much quicker and easier than the classic style connection. That said, this was installed in about 10 minutes, tested and then taken for a ride with the kid in the back.

Works with Kidarooz Bike Trailers!
I have a Kidarooz Bike trailer, Costco sold them at one point and they are made similar to Croozer bike trailers they are a private company by Chariot. I looked at the Thule kit but they said theres wasn't compatible. I read other reviews and forums that said this Burley kit would work and it does! Installation was a breeze regardless in the picture below I had it installed upside down at first. I read instructions after the fact, and fixed it very easily I might add. The diameter of the lollipop (the black rubberry plastic piece is larger then the Thule version which worked out better because it removed the slop in the bar! In the image below it shows my old hinge mount style, to them side by side, then with the new burley connector inside, as well as the incorrectly installed upside down mounted to bike (I did fix it and flipped it so the strap is on top and clips in at bottom!)

Burley flex connector for round tow arm
This review goes with my review for the standard forged trailer hitch. I gave that five stars. I'm only dinging this by one star, simply because I think there could be a better way to offer a secondary hitch connection for backup/safety, other than wrapping a strap around the chain-stay and then clipping it onto a "D" ring. I can't think of a better way myself, but there has to be one - as I personally find this way a bit awkward. But the package works well; it is flexible (evidenced by one dropped bike and one flipped trailer on first day of use, and not a mark on the hitch or connector); it fit very well to the round tow arm. I would highly recommend this and the standard forged trailer hitch, if you are looking to upgrade from the original rear-triangle hitch connector, this pair can't be beat.

Yep, this is the full replacement kit
As the other reviewer mentioned, this is the full replacement kid for the square tow arm. It took me more time to find an 11mm wrench and allen wrench than it did to replace the entire hardware kit. All the hardware was top-knotch and what I'd expect from Burley. I installed the kit in a 2007 D'lite trailer that we purchased on Craig's list. I was told it had been used 3-4 times per year and the limited wear on the trailer overall leads me to believe the previous owners were telling the truth. The black "plug" (in the picture) came out of the tow arm without any resistance. It had a fair amount of wear, particularly around the four rings, and the pin hole for attaching the trailer to the bike was getting deformed. However, there were no no obvious cracks or major fatigue. The new plug took a good amount of force to get into the tube. Burley recommends replacing this hardware every 4-5 years (I think), so I understand now how it can be the weak link in the system. I kept the old parts as a emergency spares.

Great design, and upgrade.
I doubt that Burley would condone this, but these work great for upgrading a cheap trailer. I used this and the forged standard hitch to upgrade a cheap pet trailer which was quickly becoming unusable due to rocking up and down at the hitch (it used a spring type hitch which was all over the place when riding). After the upgrade with this part, it rides like a dream, no more rocking and I can put the bike down now without worrying about the trailer doing strange things. Adding the hitch will probably require a longer skewer if your bike uses those. I bought the "Sunlite Alloy Quick Release Skewers" in the 200mm size, however the length will depend on the length of the existing skewer, since it needs to be just a bit longer to accommodate the hitch.
