I tried 5 brands - This was #2

This is a long story with a happy ending. I have been experiencing swelling in my lower legs that would increase during the day. My doctor advised me that I should be wearing compression socks to prevent more serious swelling. I was resisting due to silly vanity. My daughter gave me a pair of Endurance Shield 360 compression socks and said “try these, they are the best”. I tried them and they were OK, but I didn’t believe they were the best. I had to do my own experiment. I went to Amazon and saw hundreds of choices. They all sound the same, look similar, and all have a mixture of reviews. I picked four brands and bought one of each (in black) to try for myself. It took a while, but the results are in and we have a winner! My daughter was right: the Endurance Shield 360 socks are the best. (I just wish they had some colors other than black.) We can all use a little splash of color in our lives sometimes. Here are the details of all the competitors in order of my ranking from best to last. 1.) Endurance Shield 360 – They are very easy to put on and take off. Good smooth compression graduated up the calf. Smooth transition from sock to skin at the top, so no constriction at the top. They came up to just the right spot on my leg and stayed up on my leg well without any falling down. There is substantial fabric in the foot area that provided good cushioning. I did have to pay attention the right and left, but they are labeled ‘R’ and ‘L’, so it was easy. It would be nice if they were available in colors other than black. I have ordered several additional pairs. 2.) Vitalsox VT1211 Graduated Compression – These are a close second. They were a little more difficult to put on, but felt good once in place. They have a band at the top that looks like it would constrict and cut off circulation, but magically do not do that. The band turns into a very good transition from the compression to my skin at the top. They came up to just the right spot on my leg and stayed up on my leg well without any falling down. They have a shiny reflective texture in the calf that is a bit different from all the others. They do come in a rainbow of colors and I have ordered a pair in blue to try. 3.) MoJo Elite Recovery & Performance Compression Socks – These are a very close third. They are a little more difficult to put on than the Endurance Shield 360 and do not do as good a job of transitioning from the sock to my skin at the top. They do come in many colors and I have ordered a pair in blue to try. 4.) Go2 Compression Socks – These were too short and left a mark on my leg where they were constricting at the top. They were difficult to put on. I am in the process of returning them. 5.) Blitzu Power Performance Sport Running Socks – These were the most difficult to put on. They were very short. The band on the top really cut into my leg and restricted circulation. I am in the process on returning them. They all stayed up on my legs and did not sag or fall down during movement. They all provided relief from the swelling that used to occur. Many of my friends noticed that I was wearing something different and asked about it. It has taken a couple of weeks to try all these socks and over that time I am glad that I submitted to the wishes of my family and doctor. The swelling is greatly reduced and I feel great. Health is more important than fashion.

Husband's Favorite Socks!!

He absolutely loves these! He has multiple pairs and colors from this brand. Best thing is they are odorless!! Must have for hard workers on their feet all day!

Order the correct size if possible.

I like these socks very much, but it is so hard to order the correct size that I gave them 4 stars. I have 5 pairs, but only one pair fits good. When I ordered them I got frustrated because there are so many to pick from and sizes are hard to figure out on the these webpages.. I'm short and I got one pr of medium and 4 prs. of tall. the problem is when you go to put them on. If I had to do it over I would go in a store where you could ask questions and buy them.

The struggle is real

I did NOT get paid for this review Every morning, I dread getting dressed... Not because it marks the start of my day, but rather it marks the beginning of a new battle to ensue. Grudgingly, I reach for my socks - not just any socks but compression socks. My final weeks of pregnancy decided to bless me with the pleasure of severely swollen feet. And if you have never wore compression socks, let me tell you - It's a real battle. I swear, the moment I sit down to put them on, the socks A) shrink out of protest or B) my feet swell three times larger than what they were 2 seconds ago. Not to mention I am now fighting to touch my feet because of a hard-as-rock bowling bowl I have in my uterus. So the battle begins. Nearly 3 minutes into battle, I finally have my toe to the bottom of the sock... And that's it. The rest of the sock is balled into a death grip at the arch of foot, refusing to move forward. Trying to squeeze a finger in to straighten the material is near impossible. But finally, I get a grip and pull on the sock with my might, praying to God the material doesn't break and send my hand flying into my face. Finally, another few minutes later, the bulk is now over my heel. By now, I'm huffing and puffing and my husband comes out to see if I'm ok. Ok... It was a lot of grunting - I could see where he thought we might have a wild bison in our house. "I'm fine! Just trying to put on these bleeping compression socks". I sit back for a minute to calm my blood pressure down and wonder how on earth my 90 year old grandma gets hers on. May be time to call her and get some advice...I look at the clock and realize I'm going to be late at this rate. After catching my breath and removing the baby foot lodged under my rib, I continue on with my quest. After all, this is the easy part. Just rolling the material up my swollen calves; which takes another full minute. Finally - VICTORY IS MINE! Then I swear out-loud... I still have the other foot to do. Son-of-a-.... By the time I'm done, I'm a sweaty mess - feeling the need to take a shower again. But overall, the socks are worth the struggle...because they do help reduce the swelling. Just wish there was an easier way to put them on. I have a 10 ft wide women's foot and bought the Large size. They are a tad tight across the top of my feet but I don't know if it's the socks or the severe swelling of my feet today. In retrospect, maybe since my feet are swelling a full foot size bigger that I should accommodate that in my purchases but figured the point is to reduce swelling so went with my normal foot size. Either way, they are very nice looking socks!

Excellent support and great design

I am on my feet all day and really need very good support socks. These socks do the job and are comfortable and fit well. The 20-30 mm Hg is perfect for my needs. They do take a little effort to get on which might be a problem for an elderly person or someone with arthritis in their hands. I also like the funky colours and designs and even get complements on them, who knew?!

A nice fabric, quite strong and a little thinker than others I tried (which I much prefer). I like the overall feel, they look like they're built to last. they provide excellent compression and the size was good for me. Bottom line, I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely buy again.

Good quality but too tight.

Good quality and thickness but my wife didn’t like the compression. She said it was too much and was uncomfortable after wearing for longer periods. Was returned.

Excellent results

My first foray in to compression socks, but after dealing with sore calves and Achilles from biking and running, I decided to try this new compression trend and I'm so glad I did. These have made a huge difference for me. I will wear these when running, and I try to wear them for at least a couple hours after exercise whether that running or cycling. I will also wear them during sleep which is where I've noticed the biggest effect. Whilst I hate sleeping with socks on, I can in the morning walk normally without stiffness or tightness from wearing these socks. Just to be sure, I stopped wearing them for a couple nights after doing a decent run during the day (13km) and the next morning was aches, pains, and stiffness. These socks have been excellent and highly recommend them. Notes: - They definitely run tall. Depending on how much you stretch them up, they will probably run to or slightly over your knees. I am 183cm (6ft) with long legs and these easily overlap my knees if I stretch them up like I would a soccer sock. However, be a bit more gentle with the pull and they sit perfectly below my knee. - From other reviews and reading in to compression socks in general, I expected them to be tighter and harder to put on. I can put these on almost like any normal sock without any trouble, they really are easy to put on. They don't feel 'tight' when pulled up (and I have large calves), but they obviously do enough to be very effective. - I am a US12, UK11, EU46, JP30 foot and these are a perfect fit. I feel as though these might be on the too-big side if your feet were any smaller than this.
