Fits small

Initially ordered a size 8 and 10. Had to return them both and then ordered a size 14. I would suggest ordering 2 sizes up.

Sizing is so weird

I have these shorts and two of the Capri version. I wear size 0 jeans very comfortably. I ordered size 2 in the capris, reading reviews that I should size up. One pair of the capris is perfect and the other is way too small. So, with that in mind I ordered size 4 in the shorts, not knowing if they’d be way small or just right. I totally should have ordered a size 6! The sizing is all over the place! That said, the sizing ridiculousness is my only complaint. I can wipe mud off the fabric and it’s like it was never there. They dry quickly and are comfortable. These shorts and capris are my go-tos for adventuring, just wish the sizing was more consistent.

These shorts run small

Beware: these shorts run small. I have purchased other Columbia shorts and thought that I would easily be able to order the same size. Wrong. I could barely zip up these shorts. Ended up returning them and buying a pair of the other shorts I had previously purchased that I knew would fit correctly. (Could I have bought these shorts in a large size? Yes, but who wants to buy clothes in a larger size?! I know it's vain...)

Love these shorts but sizing is inconsistent

I have these shorts in black and love them. I wanted in additional colors but had to order several times due to sizing being inconsistent.

Great shorts. Love the pockets. Runs small so order up a size

These shorts are cut very small. Size 8 fits like size 6 of my Saturday Trail lined pants. I initially ordered a 6 because I always bought Columbia size 6 pants, but these are really skin tight. Technically they fit, and I was even able to squat down due to fabric elasticity, but the crotch felt too short to be comfortable. Going up a size the fit is a bit more relaxed and airy but much more comfortable, yet it still looks nice. I don't have to worry about bursting the seams if I gain a pound or two or after a big meal, and I can comfortably wear it all day or to a hike. The 10 inch inseam length is perfect on me. I love the fact that it has 5 pockets and one is zippered so you can put keys or a very small wallet in it. The front pockets are big enough for a smart phone (I have a Sammy S5) although it may slip out when you sit down. The fabric is very light and soft. Will update once it gets more wears this summer. "India Ink" is a very dark bluish-gray, with more gray than blue. It will look good w/ many colors.

Nice fabric, sizing runs small

I like these shorts, but they seem to run small. I am usually a 6 or an 8, but in these I think a 10 would work best.

The best shorts

These are the best shorts I have purchased in a long time. I have several pairs of the Saturday Trail Knee Pants and I expected these shorts would fit just like those and they do. The fit is slim and tapered in the legs...finally a company figured out we don't like flare leg shorts! Thanks to Columbia for getting it right. There are some Columbia shorts I wear a size 6, but all the Saturday Trail products I have (pants, shorts and knee pants) I have found that the size 8 fits best. The fabric moves and stretches just enough to be comfortable all day. The only drawback about that is by the end of the day they can get a bit stretched out. I like that the Saturday Trail products have a snap closure instead of button because buttons always fall off. The waist sits perfect, not too low, just high enough for coverage.

Runs small

Great quality short. I love these for kayaking. I have other Columbia size 2 short pants that fit great but these are too tight in the thigh and I thought they’d be a bit longer. Unfortunately I’m going to have to return. I don’t think the next size up will fit because the waist size is perfect.

Terrible quality

Columbia has a great sizing if you’re very small. It fits really well .. however, the quality is a joke. At the very first use lots of stitches bursted off.. just popped opened even tho it was not tight at all.. the same for the pants and jackets I bought from Columbia ... it’s very poor quality in general.

Fit is inconsistent

I own three other pairs of these “Saturday trail shorts” all in the same size 6, 12 length. This pair fit so differently & looked awful on. They were loose at the bottom of the legs (all my other ones fit snug & look shapely) & baggy in the crotch as well. Unfortunately I had washed them prior to wearing (didn’t try them on because I assumed they fit the same as all my other pairs) so I couldn’t return them. So sad because these have always been my absolute favourite short.

Leggeri, sopra il ginocchio, tante tasche

Tessuto leggero, elastico. Usati in questi giorni caldi e non si appiccicano: traspirazione ok. Taglia: W4/L10 sono alta 175 cm e peso 53 kg

Bonitos y comodos

Me encanta la marca, por su estética y siempre comodidad. Fabulosos para hacer senderismo con sus tres bolsillos ya son suficientes para hacer un sendero corto, se secan bastante rápido por si te mojas.
