Poor Materials
i just looked up my buying history on this shoe. I bought a 6 years ago and replaced them due to tread wear after four years ( i wear them exclusively for weekend day hiking) . This upper on the second began to fall apart after 18 months with approximately the same usage. There are holes appearing where i flex my toes and in the liner. I almost hope these were knock offs. Otherwise, Columbia has sacrificed quality significantly.

Size
The shoes are cool. I ordered these for my husband. his normal size is 7. I ordered a size 7 but it fits half a size smaller than expected. :(

These are not waterproof
The shoe fit alright, and is averagely comfortable. But they most definitely are not waterproof like the description says. Water goes right through them onto your socks.

Second pair of columbia's, I'll never use another brand again
This review is as much for the original redmond as it is the V2. Iam a regular hiker, doing 5-15 miles of moderate to strenuous hiking per week. I bought the original columbia redmond hiking shoes a couple years ago, and after 500-700 miles of hiking they were still comfortable and kept me going through any terrain. The only reason I was looking to buy a new pair of hiking boots was the tread had worn down almost to the bare in a couple of high pact spots of my stance. I wanted to stick with columbia's but the local store was out of my size, and I found a killer deal on a pair of merrel's so I decided to switch brands. After one hike with the merrells I returned them. They just weren't nearly as comfortable and I was beginning to develop calluses on a couple spots. I but the bullet and paid full price for the redmond V2's, and after a couple hikes I couldn't be happier, they're just as great as the old pair. I'm a columbia hiking shoe person for life!

Exactly as advertised. Nice hiking shoes for the money.

Runs small and narrow, it a nice shoe with the right size.
This is a very comfortable shoe but it runs small and narrow. I originally ordered a 9.5 wide, I have wide feet. I have a pair of Columbia crestwood low in 9.5 and they fit great. I had to return the Redmond and get a 10 wide. When I compared the last of the crestwood to the Redmond, the Crestwood actually has 1/2 inch more on the outer aspect of the sole and shoe in the toe box than the Redmond. Therefore I would use “ wide” very loosely. Also this shoe feels very much like a sneaker, an older version Nike Pegasus without the zoom heel for stability. Comfortable and may wear well, but not a firm fitting heel. This is a nice shoe and I am sure I will be happy with this as I have been with all Columbia shoes I have owned but beware! It is a narrow shoe and runs small. I have had 3 days now and have gone about 20 miles on hikes of flat wet field, small hills and pine forest. As the show wears in the shoe conforms well. The original thought of the heel changed as the cushion conforms more to my foot and seems more stable. The Omni-Tread works very well for wet muddy hills for traction. Great shoe.

Great mostly…
Fits well and comfy. Came with rat/mouse/rodent fecal matter/poop on the bottom but other than that it’s all good.

Quality Hiker.
I wanted to treat myself to a quality hiker for a change. I use them primarily for casual wear. Not sure how they would do on the trail but they are very comfortable. I feel they would do just fine. They do run small however. I usually wear an 11 regular. I first ordered an 11.5 regular and the length was fine but they were very tight across the top. I returned and ordered an 11.5 wide and they are perfect. Very light and comfortable. I have not had a chance to see if they are waterproof but I did wear them in the snow and my feet were warm and dry. Very happy with purchase.

Very small fit, recommending ordering a .5 to full size larger
I'm consistently an 11.5 US Men's for Nike, Addidas, Converse, Rockport, and Merrel... but this Columbia shoe I could barely get on my foot. Definitely a small fit, advise you order a larger size by .5 or even a full size. That said it looked like a quality made hiking shoe, and was good value. Just disappointed it didn't fit.

Wet feet shoes
These shoes are NOT waterproof in the slightest not even splash proof, I have flip flops that are more water proof than these shoes, yet another claim that does not stand up. Why is it so many products do not do what they say on the label?

Well fitting and comfortable
These shoes are, so far, great. They fit well and are very comfortable, and seem very well made. Good value for money too.
