My best work hat!

Great hat, I use it working as a landscaper in Florida heat and sun this summer. I've tried many other styles of hats from high quality straw to to ball caps and this one works best. The high quality materials Columbia uses does something the others do not. Effectively blocks sun from face and the handy neck flap is perfect. The material breathes and is still comfortable after wearing all day. Will take some light rain but does get soaked after steady rain exposure. Might not be the best choice if riding a mower because of the floppy style brim but the choice is yours. The brim protects face and head when working up close with bushes ,trees etc. Hat has held up well after months of daily use in high heat, some days 97 with heat index 112. Material is soft and comfy with adjustable band for fit. Best work hat I've owned, mine is olive green and I love it. Also folds for packing. Will buy another for casual wear

one of the best hats out there

I got two of these hats in different colors. The main purpose was to protect my head while hiking in the Arizona desert when my last wide brim hat kicked the bucket, and this hat made a dramatically noticeable difference! my face and head temperatures are reduced while using them when compared to a ball cap or a cheap wide brim hat. The fact that it has such a wide brim AS WELL AS a neck cover, it really does protect your face/neck from the sun! (still recommend using sunscreen on your face/neck, just in case!) they are also durable. I throw these in creeks, whip them on/off, and they have lasted over 2 years of heavy use! when Im not hiking in the desert, I use them when working outside, and its strange to say, but these hats really changed how I work outdoors! the reduced sun on my head lets me feel more comfortable which allows me to work longer and think clearer when out in the hot, humid climate where I reside! highly recommend this to everyone

The slightest breeze will flip the brim up.

The slightest breeze will flip the brim of this hat up unless you tilt you head down. That sort of takes the joy out of walking, though, since you can't see everything around you with you head tilted down.

Very comfortable

This hat is very light wight and comfortable. It easily folds for in my togo bag.

Comfortable and Adequate

A good head cover in warm weather. I opted for this product because of a wider brim. I use this when I work in my yard in Hawaii where the sun presents a daunting challenge. It gets the job done. So far, it looks as if the stitching and materials are of good quality. It does a good jb of keeping the sun off my head and neck, although I have not used the neck covering yet. My only complaint is that the brim may be too flimsy. It is nice that the hat is soft enough to stuff in my pants pocket, but there are times that the brim droops down and blocks my view. This is especially true when it gets sweaty. A slightly stiffer brim would make this even better.

Functionally Disappointing

I had owned a Columbia PFG booney hat and love it but left it in Colombia (no pun intended). When I sought to replace the hat, I came across this model which is purported to be a revision. The hat is the right color, decent protection from the sun and the workmanship is good. Airflow is moderate and the hat is a bit heavier than my other Columbia booney hat. My major complaint is that the brim is shapeless. It flops in some sections while wearing it which defeats both style and function. I am an amateur nature photographer and need a brim that is sturdy enough so that it doesn't obstruct my peripheral vision while scanning for fauna. Unfortunately, I waited too long to return it.

Loved this hat - the brim is so wide - I want to avoid sun on my nose and face - works great

The brim is so wide that it really keeps the sun off. I also like the light weight and the feel of the material. Also, I like the hidden neck protector too, although I rarely use that - but it is nice to know it is there when I want to use it, but hidden when I do not want to use it.

Darling yet functional hat

Sombrero para campo

Es un excelente sombrero, cubre bastante bien y tiene ventilación por la malla que trae. Ademas incluye dentro del sombrero una pequeña bolsa con una tela-malla que cubre la parte del cuello. Aunque el precio es un poco elevado ya que es producto importado, vale la pena.
