First impression: ColdPruf zippered mock turtleneck is a good value. Waiting to see how it works with various activities.
This was delivered within three days which was nice for the cool weather we have now. Have not had a chance to wear it outside yet but next couple of days will see how it goes with cross country skiing. Buying it was a compromise, I wanted a full turtleneck that would not stretch out of shape, wanted sleeves that had thumb holes to keep sleeves in place when placing more layer shirts on, also to keep wrist and back of hand warm for down hill skiing. Problems I've had with cheap mock or full turtlenecks are the collar stretches and doesn't provide protection from wind or snow/rain. Waiting to see how this works out with a zipper closure that should eliminate stretching the shirt over my head. The zipper is covered with a wind flap to prevent irritation and feels snug but time will tell if it maintains shape. If the neck extension was an inch and a half longer it would be a full turtleneck. A full turtleneck with a zipper to eliminate stretching would be my first choice for warmth or a removable/replacement turtleneck section if such a shirt exists. I'm not sure why more manufactures don't include thumb holes to stabilize sleeves from sliding up inside outer layer garments. I am a medium frame but with 34 inch arms. Standard sleeve sizing for medium clothing arm length is 32 or 33 inches. This is one of my issues why I have to go for Big & Tall clothing to get sleeve length. Still even Big & Tall often doesn't start sizing tall until ordering Large Tall. One of the comments I read was the sleeves are too long, which in my case is what I was looking for. The length is about a comfortable 34 inches, Now I'm thinking about a simple modification of sewing on a finger(s) catch to hold sleeves if this does move around or to cover exposure area between gloves and jacket. I also bought a more expensive Woolx Prescott full turtleneck for comparison. This ColdPruf was my first pick concerning price but I wanted to see how a wool full turtleneck holds up against a moderately priced polyester mock turtleneck. When our family skied Whiteface Mountain in New York this past January it was around twelve below zero, this is what's driving a search for warmer base layers.

Has a few problems
I received this cold weather gear a few days ago and after washing it and wearing it for a few days, I can say it does it's job as a base layer. It will help you stay warm for sure. However, one HUGE and annoying problem I have though is that this top continually rides up above your belt line expsoing your lower stomach and back. I find myself pulling it down repeatedly only for it to rise back up again. If you have other layers on top of or under it, it pulls them up as well in the process. It's warm but so annoying. Update* It's been about 3 weeks now and I've worn this top several times. It still tries to ride up but I think it's starting to stretch some and not ride up as much. However, there is another issue that has arisen. If you wear short sleeves under this top, the top will leave block spots on your arms and shoulders (looks like blowback from black spray paint or a ton of black heads) so I dropped my rating to 3 stars for this. These spots are hard to remove even with scrubbing in the shower. I verified this by wearing a long sleeve under this top and no spots appeared on my skin. This top and the correspnding bottoms are also itchy. Overall, this top is mediocre at best with much better thermals out there. I would advise to stay clear of this brand. I hope this helps. Final Update* It's been about a little over a month now and the final piece of information I can pass along is, don't wear white t-shirts with this on. I started wearing white t-shirts to avoid getting the black dye stains on my skin (listed in the Update* above) and I have noticed that several of my t-shirts have taken on a black/bluish tone to them where the dye from the thermal top is leeching into my white t-shirt while I wear it. I've noticed it on 3 different t-shirts already. Due to the problems above, I dropped my rating to 2 stars. Save your money and go with a different brand. Avoid the pants that go with this top as the same problems plague the pants as well.

Toasty Dual Base Layer - Great Value!
Gave this base layer the test today at 45F and 20 MPH NW Winds on a 5 mile run/walk. I wore only this as a base layer against the skin and then a med weight fitness fleece top. The results were outstanding. The material is comfortable against bare skin and keeps you warm. The high winds did not penetrate the Cold Pruf and another layer was not needed. Two layers were enough. These run a little small so I would order one size up if you are on the edge. I am a 6' - 195 lb lifetime fitness junkie and the XL fit me perfectly. I like that is has no thumb hole for the cross country skiing and that stupid longer cuff that keeps rolling down on your wrist with a hole in it. I am not skiing - I am running. The cuffs are just straight for runners and stay off your fingers and hands. The other thing I really like about these is cost for value. They are half the cost of those pricey high profile name brand base layers and just as good - if not better and Amazon Prime to boot. How ya gonna beat that!

FANTASTIC!!!!!
My riding jacket while awesome in every other regard, allows wind and cold to enter under my chin. This shirt is lite weight and comfortable, very soft on skin. Neck zips up under other layer and no more wind down front of jacket/under chin. I can ride for hours in 40 degree temps @ 65 MPH and am nice and warm. I really like this shirt. I bought this shirt because I already owned a pair of their under-pants which work extremely well. I hardly know I have them on under my outer pants and even when the temps warm up or I am walking around in them, I do not over heat. Keeps wind at bay and I stay warm and comfy at all times. I bought several more shirts and another pair of pants.

Awesome
This baselayer will keep you warm on the coldest days (-0 degrees C). Fit well. I'm normally medium, but with baselayer I went one size down for a tighter fit. Pro: -Warm due to dual layer -Covers the neck Con: -The zipper can sometime get in the way and feel weird when first worn. It would probably be better if it was not zippered and more like a "turtle-neck" style Overall, great product!
